Gaho invites you to GD's $920,000 hotel in the countryside

GD's parents bought land in the countryside a few years ago with a view to building a vacation home for themselves and GD. They decided to build a pension (a small boutique hotel) instead.
The construction was financed entirely by GD as a gift to his parents. The hotel has 11 rooms, all named after Big Bang's songs including one room called Crayon, reserved for the exclusive use of GD himself.  The rooms were all decorated by GD and his mother. Currently Kwon Younghwan (GD's father) and Gaho are living at the hotel and running it with the help of manager Huh Eunmae.

The bedrooms and public rooms feature portraits of Big Bang and GD, BB figurines and dolls, etc... The pension has a plunge pool and luxurious bathrooms with hydrobaths. Two of the rooms are split-level suites, one featuring a private roof terrace with an outdoor jacuzzi.
GD and YB have already stayed at the pension and 2NE1 are supposed to visit soon too. The pension is already taking bookings and enquiries from all over the world.

However there is a catch: you must be at least 19 years old to stay there, presumably to avoid issues with young teenage fans.

I didn't want to spam Omona, please click on the source for full-size pics.

OP: what does Omona think about the decor? I like it except some of the chairs look cheap and flimsy.

(mods, I double-checked and this is not a repost)

it actually looks nice, when i read that gd helped to decorate it i was afraid of the mess it would be.

I read about this on allkpop and they didn't mention anything about it being a hotel or whatever so I thought it was a vacation home for the fam. But hey I wanna stay at the place. Looks nice.

Same, I'm just getting that now(i've never seen the word pension used like this before too lol).

So what is that $920,000 price quoting because if that's how much it cost to make then woow that pretty cheap. You could probably just about buy a 1 bed room flat in London with that money.

Dang, I dun even care who owns it (though I love GD), I just wanna goooooo.
(I am wooed by the architecture and the view)

It looks really nice and the scenery is especially beatiful, but it looks like it's in the middle of nowhere.

Oh neat! I'm bookmarking the site. Would love to visit, the scenery looks fantastic. Would be nice if there were hiking trails there too.

I don't like the art work for the room on the right but overall it looks nice
asnindie 24th-Nov-2012 09:14 pm (UTC)
Decor is kinda ugly, like someone watched too much MTV cribs but the location makes up for it.
realme21 24th-Nov-2012 09:59 pm (UTC)
not really a fan of the decors too. :(
a_perfect_shade 24th-Nov-2012 09:23 pm (UTC)

decor works together well enough, considering they didn't hire a professional decorator to do it. but I guess that's the attraction, that GD helped design it?

Wow just checked the hotel's homepage and it's such a beautiful location and those tubs looked pretty nice too. If I lived in Korea, I would definitely like to visit even if I wasn't a Big Bang fan.

it's cute, a bit boring design-wise but nothing too unconventional to ensure a steady income of customer$. which i understand, because gd made this to help his parents keep working and finance their living.

all of my uncles have been forced into retirement by their companies at younger and younger ages it's kinda crazy. like the youngest has been at 50

i think GD is pretty smart with managing his money with his parents. not sure which TV show it was, but i remember him mentioning that when he first started getting the big paycheques he had bought commercial properties for his parents to collect rental incomes.

though i think it would be much better in the long run for their new B&B to not actually use Big Bang as a marketing ploy to lure in guests and instead run it like a proper vacation home business.

Looks really cheap :( Like Ikea.

I think the exterior building design and outside scenery are really interesting and cool but I'm not entirely sure about the inside -- it does look kinda cheap, but it's also kinda unique and it's definitely not UGLY. I hope it'll be successful nonetheless!

let my gd fantasies ensue
atelierlune 25th-Nov-2012 05:08 am (UTC)
It kind of seems like the stuff that fan fic is made of... like, what is it really like inside the Crayon room...

What a nice gift to his parents! It's cool.
baroness 24th-Nov-2012 10:09 pm (UTC)

Idk why but I CANNOT stop giggling at this comment

Probably because those were my thoughts exactly but I didn't realize it until I read it..........
mingobus 24th-Nov-2012 10:39 pm (UTC)
It looks really beautiful, but I can't help but think that there's too much wasted space because they tried to be too edgy. Oh well, you can probably just go outside or something.
deeinanutshell 24th-Nov-2012 10:42 pm (UTC)
It's so pretty! Added to my S.Korea/Seoul checklist of definite places to visit.

Also I wonder of his parents will really be running it like at front desk or if they are just the owners behind the scenes. Prob the latter right? Or else they are gonna meet some ~interesting~ personalities hahah

They built that fancy dog house for Gaho (and presumably Jolie) on-site so I guess they're planning to spend a lot of time there. I'm also curious to know how involved they're going to be.

I noticed his father is answering enquiries on the website community:
"thank you for your choice our pension. I am g-dragon"s father.I will remember to your visit next year ."
hisjulliet 24th-Nov-2012 11:29 pm (UTC)
I love the location and the design. The decor not so much.
saltyameb 24th-Nov-2012 11:46 pm (UTC)
Well looks like I need to start saving money. I'm actually pleasantly surprised at the rates, they're very reasonable for what the place is.
smileyushi 25th-Nov-2012 12:15 am (UTC)
only 11 rooms though... if I book there would be only open spots after 2 years.
on the other hand, the view and location is gorgeous!
ashiva 25th-Nov-2012 12:14 pm (UTC)
Nah, since it's middle of nowhere, only available for adults (you can't even bring your kids with you), and not super cheap (though considering facilities great prices) most of the rooms are still completely unbooked.
the_erotomanic 25th-Nov-2012 01:35 am (UTC)
it's good that there're no buildings/residences on the other side of the lake (river?) or people might be able to spy on the lodgers. they don't like curtains out there, don't they? lol!

but i like the rooms. the beds don't look comfy to me, though.

and little doggie there better have a suite of his own separate from the hotel. hehe!
one_broken 25th-Nov-2012 01:43 am (UTC)
that is nice. it would be interesting to stay there
