IGAB is growing on me and i love Baby Maybe, Promise, Lost In Love, XYZ and Romantic St., Look at Me is ok but i don't love it and Express 999 has a weird rythm change like IGAB but i like the cute chorus.
flumes 1st-Jan-2013 10:25 pm (UTC)
this album is horrible.

None of the songs stood out for me.

IGAB SLAYS BYE HATERS~!!!!

no but seriously, i love that it has all these different sections that end up blending together really nicely toward the end of the song. it's messy and fun and different for soshi and i am here for it completely <3

I guess I'm gonna have to listen to each song over and over again until I force myself to like them. I don't know for how much longer I can go with that route though, cuz I've been using it a lot in k-pop.

OP, you posted IGAB instead of "Look at Me"

My favs: Baby Maybe, Promise, and Romantic St.

I'm not wowed by this album, but it's not as bad as I had expected after hearing IGAB.
boba_holic 1st-Jan-2013 11:07 pm (UTC)
Look at Me is there..
hitsujiga 1st-Jan-2013 10:51 pm (UTC)
only songs i really like are talktalk and romantic st.
i got a boy (in some parts jammable), dancing queen, look at me are bearable. other half is sub-par.
tha_x 1st-Jan-2013 10:54 pm (UTC)
weak album.

Hmmm.
Not the best way to start off the new year, tbh...

LOL THIS IS HILARIOUS BECAUSE I LIKE THIS ALBUM. sure it doesn't have a trick or oscar that immediately becomes my fav but overall, in terms of number of songs i like/can repeatedly listen to, it's solid in my opinion. i especially like the fact that more girls had their hand in writing lyrics. i guess tiffany is still being rejected after yuri's mistake got chosen over her's xD

bought it on itunes as well despite knowing i'm going to get a physical copy lol

Thank god someone already fixed IGAB

Still annoying, but a lot more tolerable than the original.
vampireweekend 1st-Jan-2013 11:26 pm (UTC)
it's not their best it is what it is

but girls & peace shits all over it imo
flumes 1st-Jan-2013 11:39 pm (UTC)
yea and it's hilarious bc girls and peace was lackluster too. honestly they don't put out good full albums to me and there's good music here and there within the discography which is fine it's what i expect but for some reason i was expecting more.

once i heard the medley though i was out

my favorites are i got a boy, baby maybe and talk talk.

still not sure if express 999 and xyz are faves, but a few more listens and i'm probably going to love them.

i'm surprised that i liked the ballads enough. the only real dud for me may be lost in love. but i thought the instrumental sounded sweet and nice.

this is better than the boys album. i could listen to this album without skipping a song. but as most sme full albums there is a lack of cohesion. the title track doesn't really show what kind of sound the album is going for. but fans are probably going to enjoy the variety in sound and that most songs don't sound like and are not structured the same way as igab. snsd's japanese albums still trump their korean ones.
pumpkinskin 2nd-Jan-2013 12:14 am (UTC)
I like everything except IGAB.
feel_my_mind 2nd-Jan-2013 12:29 am (UTC)
I enjoyed this album, but its not that stronger of attempt.(Especially after "Girls and Peace" which is my third favorite album from them)
I had to listen to two or three times, before I felt anything but "oh its nice, I could listen to this on shuffle" about the tracks (except Romantic St. I just don't like that one at all).

Its good enough that I'll buy it though (unlike "The Boys"), but I'll probably wait until repackage.

Still love IGAB

Disappointed. :(

I like the album a lot overall. Nothing really there hurts my ears or bothers me. Most of the tracks are slow ballads or mid-tempo ballads, which I'm happy with. Have to wonder if one reason international kpop fans might not like it that much is because there are less catchy songs, less dance-able songs too.

I like that there is a cohesive sound to the album as a whole. Also I can hear some of that Jpop influence in the album.

i'm going to lump myself into that category and agree (esp because i see their japanese releases as "what SM thinks non-ksone want to hear", but i don't follow SM generally so i'm not sure if i can fairly generalize there).

i wish more of these songs had that stuck-in-your-head factor i want from pop music. i actually love IGAB because it makes me want to dance any time one of the motifs gets stuck of my head, including while i was shopping at Target earlier today. Girls & Peace was the first time i was interested or blown away by snsd in quite a few years (incl the first japanese album, which i find only ok) so i had been ready for them to step it up from there...

solid, but underwhelming. overall I like it much better than the boys, because in that I only really liked two or three songs, and in here while I don't especially enjoy anything I could listen to the whole album without skipping.
pikapika217 2nd-Jan-2013 01:41 am (UTC)
XYZ, Lost in Love & Romantic St. are definitely my favorite with everything else being either just 'ok' to plain bad
bobbing_apples 2nd-Jan-2013 01:56 am (UTC)
Is the background for the videos the actual album cover?

I Got a Boy and Express 999 started off so well, and then... :/
senshicalico 2nd-Jan-2013 03:08 am (UTC)
rofl this is the first Korean album of theirs I actually kinda liked from beginning to end (hot mess of title track aside.)

Usually I'm bored of hell by track 4 or 5. But this one actually held my attention good job silver star.
jessicamariek 2nd-Jan-2013 03:17 am (UTC)
Nothing's absolutely-omg-FANTASTIC yet, but on first listen I don't hate anything. Probably gonna need to listen to it on shuffle a few times before I figure out my real faves...

IGAB still sounds like five different songs mashed together, though. :P
