Big Bang to focus on solo activities after their world tour ends

121223_bigbang_FUKUOKA_pr-600x399

After Big Bang finishes their world tour, the members will be shifting their focus to promoting solo activities.

The five members will be finishing up their world tour in Seoul from the 25th to the 27th. After the finale, the members will be promoting under their own individual names and not under the name of Big Bang.

G-Dragon will be going on a solo world tour, and will even be having a 3-dome tour in Japan for the first time as a Korean solo artist. He is also planning to release a new song within the first half of the year.
T.O.P has been filming for his movie ‘Alumni‘, and will continue to work on the movie for a bit more. He previously stated, “It’s currently 90% finished.” Fans are also looking forward to see him act again in dramas as well this year.

Taeyang and Daesung are currently working on their own solo albums. Daesung’s Japanese solo album, ‘D’scover‘, is set for release at the end of February, and he is planning his solo concert as well.

Seungri has also been cast in a drama on NipponTV. Even though he has constantly been promoting in Japan, this year Seungri is planning to promote in Korea as well.

Are you looking for a year filled with Big Bang?

Meanwhile 2NE1 ...

LOL @ the reverse puberty. But honestly I'd believe it.

I couldn't believe the first part of the vid especially. I haven't heard some of the features and its been a while since I've heard a few and to see the contrast between then and now is crazy. His singing voice is so much better when left alone. Sexier too *cough* I wonder how much control YB has on BB v. his solo projects? Hopefully he'll sing in his range of expertise and kick GD out the room before he starts giving singing advice.

So it's freakin GD. I'm not surprised since he kept trying to make Bom sing sing in a higher pitch on 2ne1 tv before he switched her to 'Oh Yeah.'

And oh yeah to YG fillin his pockets with cash - he won't care until it becomes a problem.

Thanks for sharing this btw.

Honestly.... musically he probably has more control than we think/give credit for. I mean the members always say when gd's not around yb's the one who picks up the leader role. + he's almost always in the studio slipping in at least 1 r&b track into the album (even if he didn't write them). while everyone else is runnin the gauntlet of the kpop idol. So I guess them high notes on the tracks could be his fault too lol.

I'm cracking up at this lol

I didn't know about him slipping in tracks, that's cute. lol, probably is his fault too. I wonder if he gets heavily influenced by the R&B he listens to the most and just mimics/pays homage/whatever the term to where he forgets about his voice's comfort zone. I know when "You're my..." short MV came out I couldn't help but side-eye and laugh b/c he must have been eyein' that D'Angelo MV hard - layout & voice pitch lol (D'angelo: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=SxVNOnPyvIU and YB: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=UFw_MfS7bac) I'm not sure if anyone noticed.

You can skip through the beg of D'angelo's to get what I mean, his is a bit more daring haha

Well it's the truth though? All of the other members doin at least 2 more things during the off season of music program promotions. While he's just in the studio. Irks a few people cause wheres the live improvement but also gives reason why he can put out more music releases than the others n people shouldn't get mad bout it.

N yea, I'm sure everyone got that D'angelo bit with You're my. And the other dozen bits of mimicry he puts in his music.

Oh you know what - I misunderstood what you said. For whatever reason I immediately got a mental image of hundreds of idols running some track race - meaning they were too busy keeping the idol image and just doing as told by management with the hopes of doing as they please artistically one day. What happens when you stay up to 4am. Excuse me.

But you are right. I don't really see why they should be irked; even if it isn't music promo, the other members are seen in other ways - acting, variety, etc instead of hiding out completely (even though they deserve a rest every now and again). I would like to see real bts stuff and wish they were allowed to be completely honest and straight-forward in interviews - it would be interesting to know how things are created/how they think. Or a day in the YG building would be even more interesting lol.

I wonder why he doesn't/isn't made to do any other solo activities, besides musically?

And whoops - I was only surfing OMONA back then so I didn't know. And yeah basically - all of them really.

Dunno, BigBang seems pretty real with a lot of their answers for interviews... at least the magazine ones.

bts stuff is the best. the build up before the ratchet stages always look better than what they end up doing showing that they actually know wtf is going on around them etc. too bad they haven't picked up Ustream(YG on Air/Naver stream) and just have unedited studio/dance room broadcasts from western and indie artists.

"I wonder why he doesn't/isn't made to do any other solo activities, besides musically?"

Everything else I guess he didn't feel like doing it especially since he sucks at the variety game etc. Though I feel like he should of done more radio shows n other performance stuff like YG had BB doing from 06-08. Missed out on a lot of "easy" promo work.(same can be said for 2ne1)

I agree, they are. One of the most honest groups but...I suppose I just can't completely get through the stark difference between K-Pop and American celebrity. Like the sit down "exclusive" and personal interviews big artists give from time to time where the honest cap is a bit bigger. For most part, even if its speculation, shit just comes out in other fandoms, whether good or bad - who's dating who, who broke up with who and why, someone actually doesn't want to get married at 35, X wrote this song b/c of the bad break up with Y, A doesn't really get along with B, and so forth. I can't get with the facade they have to put up to protect the fantasies of the fanbase by being some sort of fantastical creatures that aren't "corrupted." They're human. I respect privacy but sometimes I feel like they want to say something or joke but ending up only alluding (or hell, maybe they don't want to). Though Suengri cares a bit less lol. For Ex. Tae's and GD's convo in this vid: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=EYIWZepNj8I, starting @ 4:08. I think BB are getting tired/old/care less/have enough solid fandom to relax more...as shown by recent ventures (non-musically). Idk...a lot of us will hardly ever get to be in the same vicinity as these guys, but more intimate details sort of gives the impression that you know a good amount of what goes through their head and lives. ...Or maybe a lot of should just not be too nosy?

I really liked the idea of the countdown live "show" during GD's OOAK comeback. When he had Tae and Dae as guests they seemed more themselves and laidback. Even Tae kept insisting they should be more open with fans and kept trolling Dae about his ~mysterious~ adventures in Japan.

too bad they haven't picked up Ustream (YG on Air/Naver stream)

Oh man, that would be great. I wonder if people who are aware of the existence of those things, like Lydia, suggest it to higher ups.

I'm sorry if I'm going on and on to you btw...and for the very long comment. It's just nice to here someone's else POV on matters.

it's cool, I'm replying aren't I? :

well.. dunno what's really the truth till I guess papz aire it out with video etc but https://alwaystaeyang.wordpress.com/2012/12/12/translation-jang-woo-cheols-here-and-there-dong-young-baes-spring/#more-11303 seemed like a pretty honest interview. I mean he did say he changed n dgaf about how people see him anymore.. hence ratchet.

"Idk...a lot of us will hardly ever get to be in the same vicinity as these guys, but more intimate details sort of gives the impression that you know a good amount of what goes through their head and lives. ...Or maybe a lot of should just not be too nosy?"

yea pretty much. we're all too nosy cause well we're only supposed to be in it for the music/tv image but then folks hound gf's or accused, ship with others, upload family pics n stuff. And we know it's wrong but then they open up about personal things and it makes us step closer to the dangerousness of personal life n further from where we should be.
heartsolid 17th-Jan-2013 07:26 am (UTC)
ha, true.

Thank you for sharing that! I've been looking for that interview since Tae mentioned it somewhere but didn't really know how to find just that interview. That was really in depth - love that stuff. Was taken a bit aback when he called his mother "exceedingly ordinary," someone was "brazenly" honest haha. Wasn't sure if he was being sarcastic or serious when he said that pic of MJ looked like him.

Lol @ ratchet, but basically. I've been side-eying them quite frequently, especially as of late (I'm not 100% taken with anyone anyway and will disagree/dislike when necessary, fan or not), but some of those things reminded me of the Tae I thought he was - humble but confident...seems more confident now...which merges with the ratchetness he loves to deal to the audience.

And complete truth in your last paragraph. And here's the nosy - I wonder who that gal was he loved/s so much. ;) Smh. But poor guy though, that must really suck.

johnnyquest89 17th-Jan-2013 11:04 pm (UTC)
Really? i just took it as being extra blunt cuz folks always construe stuff like XX's parents must of been amazing/wierd cuz of the kids talents/interests etc. Hopefully sarcasm, or was talkin bout picture as a whole with all the shit just flying around n being happy.

Who knows? fans gone through the whole people we see list of Dara, Cl, May Doni, Ji eun, yuri etc. but coulda been anyone.
heartsolid 18th-Jan-2013 12:17 am (UTC)
Oh, I didn't see it from that view. I thought he was asking in general about his mother [people who have good relationships tend to say positive, loving things about their moms] - not the passing of some awesome genes [as in Tae is so ~great his mother must be ~great too]. I see now.

Oh wow, I didn't know about anyone other than Dara in that list. CL, Ji eun, May Doni &/or Yuri though... that's interesting, I wonder how fans connected him to them (apart from Tae admitting he was close to a few members and was set up on a blind date with a member from SNSD)? I guess I don't pay attention unless there's some sort of visual proof ...unless I'm in the mood for a laugh or random cuteness. But yeah, who knows who it really is.
johnnyquest89 18th-Jan-2013 02:16 am (UTC)
Really? I've seen a lot of famous people do it all. say great things bad things or just the truth.

it's kpop, breath in the same room, have chemistry on stage, mention in a interview or give a hug and boom got fans to ship you.

btw.. I think we're the only ones still posting in this topic lol.
heartsolid 19th-Jan-2013 12:50 am (UTC)
haha, Basically! Smh. People like their imaginations a bit too much.

lol, yes, I'm positive we are xD
