I would like to give him a benefit of doubt, but we know this is not the case. He refer to his recent scandal with IU, and it's faaar too soon to make a light joke about something that could destroy IU career forever. He just have a loose mouth, and he should not sacrifice other just to make a joke..

I agree that the joke was in poor taste considering the negative effect it's had on IU's reputation.

I wouldn't of thought he was talking about IU when he mentioned it. Just in general that he'd gained more interest popularity. Although considering Super Junior members are for the most part shit stains I guess he was making light of the situation.

Why exactly SHOULDN'T Eunhyuk get away from this scandal without a dent to his image, hmm? Did he post that incriminating photo on his Twitter? Did his company give out a press release that, while COULD be true, rather infuriated the Korean public/netizens more because 'visiting the sick'? Really?!

Did he ever deny his adoration for IU and mislead his fans in any way into thinking otherwise? The fact that the only ones really shocked about them dating was IU's fans while Korean ELF were just 'oh crap, why did it have to be revealed this way >.<' says a lot.

Yes it's questionable that he acknowledges the scandal in such a way, but if your private affairs are revealed to the public in that manner without your control nor consent, wouldn't you be mad too? He's never insulted IU and has always been supportive of her in the past, even before she became 'nation's little sister' and was this little girl with a guitar singing acoustic versions of popular hits. I can't help but raise my eyebrows at people saying that IU did nothing wrong and is undeserving of hate, yet they dish it out at Eunhyuk when he's also trying to move on from the scandal as well.

I don't see how people are trying to act as if I.U and Eunhyuk received the same level of criticism and treatment for this scandal. The fact that he's even allowed to makes jokes and allude to the scandal in a flippant manner when I.U has pretty gone into hiding shows how much more she was affected. Lets not try and pretend that him being a male and her being a female is the number reason for the unequal treatment. How cute that his ranking went up because of this and I.U's image was damaged. If youre not bearing full or equal responsibility not make slick comments.

Eh, it's kind of hard to make a judgement without seeing the video, but nonetheless he should refrain from any IU jokes considering how much crap she's gotten :/ I feel so bad for the girl.

At first I was confused about the hate from those netizens, and then I kept reading and remembered IU. While i think the whole thing is stupid and silly, it was in poor taste imo to talk about the scandal. Both got flack for it, but I think IU certainly got more, or at least her's is more damning. Joking can diminish the magnitude of something, but in this case the one most affected should have made the joke (i.e. IU), and it's too soon for her probably. If you want something to go away, probably best to not talk about it (tho being honest would have been appreciated probably).

Won't call him trash or other names though. Doesn't really solve much now does it? Person has to be pretty low for me to call them that, but that's me.

I see a lot of comments about how Eunhyuk gets to go on with his life scot-free while IU is still hiding from the public. She's still on TV like Inkigayo every week like nothing happened. What would happen if IU took Eunhyuk's approach and also made a joke out of it? Of course there is male previlege still, but Loen didn't even try defying the norm by admitting the incident and tried to sweep up the issue under the carpet. It's 2013 - maybe she'll still be slut-shamed, and that we can frown on, but she certainly won't be another Baek Ji Young.

Okay so at first I was like "how did they even know he meant that..." but the more that I think about it, let's be real, he hasn't done anything of note recently by himself so okay.

Meanwhile people were uploading photos of IU's records literally cut with scissors and she hasn't even tweeted anything since this happend.

Tbh people who don't live in Korea/speak Korean and still act like they know e v e r y t h i n g should stop saying dumb stuff. Because, firstly, Korea was never like 'IU is done'. She got shit for it, he did as well. And then Korea just stopped caring because half of Korea already knew they had dated since Korean fans are very aware of their idol's private lives details. They just don't share them with anyone else.
Secondly, I am pretty sure he did mean the IU thing when he talked about his search rankings but lol, did you also know that every single thing on Korean variety shows is scripted? Like when Kang Ho Dong and Boom made fun of Eunhyuk on Star King on the next day after the scandal and all ELF went hysterical about it. Go blame the writers for bringing it up because I really doubt he would do it himself.
And thirdly, I don't understand how people can say that the whole thing is Eunhyuk's fault. What did he do exactly. Slept with SK's little sister? I bet he's not the only one. Was (half)naked in the picture? Not that she looks like she is against it. She screwed up (or maybe it was done on purpose indeed) and she had to apologize. This is how things are supposed to work.
