I never thought about it in that way, but thats a really interesting perspective! Especially if ps is not just related to beauty and image but also economics. Its not as if these women are just shallow or have low self esteem but genuinely believe that they won't be acceptable if not permanently changing the stricture of their face for society. Its hard to draw the lines between self agency and imposing societal ideals
