MBC’s ‘Idol Star Athletics Championship’ films for 22 hours, draws complaints

The latest rendition of MBC’s ‘Idol Star Athletics Championship‘ filmed for a record of 22 hours yesterday (28th), drawing complaints from staff members and entertainment representatives.
The filming started at 7:00 AM, which required the participating competitors to wake up at 4:00 AM to begin makeup and hair conditioning. Despite the fun atmosphere that occurred once the filming began, the recording time soon sped past the stated finishing time of 2:00 AM the next morning, and final filming only wrapped up at 5:00 AM – which meant that the idols had been on set for nearly a full day.
The competitors who had been eliminated early also weren’t allowed to leave the set, requiring them to waste valuable time when they could have been taking care of other schedules.
A representative for an entertainment company bemoaned this bloated filming session: “Our idols had five schedules the day after the Championship recording,” he complained. “I don’t know if they’ll be able to finish them being so tired.”
Another representative echoed these sentiments, saying “it was nearly imprisonment, not allowing the early eliminated idols to leave”.

wtf mbc
And poor fans who were there the whole time or stayed as late as they could. Freaking dangerous to have people going home late on their own.

and wtf if they don't have to be there why are MBC keeping them there like hostages? o__O
And awake for 25 hours! That's absurd, and surely it goes against labour laws, especially considering a large number of idols are minors.
Maybe they don't want to let early eliminations leave early because they need them for some pictures at the end and/or they don't want ppl throwing their matches (would they really do that?!) just so they can escape? >.>
hmm :/
idols' schedules are mad crazy, I hope at least those eliminated were allowed to somewhat rest and nap? (even if it was on the floor, benches, or whatever)
cuz lbr even if they could leave early, their management would just shove them elsewhere (events, cf making, etc) or back to the practice room where they'd get 2 hrs of sleep or less by the end of the day anyway.
Stuff like this makes me so sick and sad :(
Didn't the exo m kids have a schedule in china the day before, then flew back attended boa's concert then...went to this as well?
I don't get how this industry organizes its time.
That's so stupid. They're just lucky the way they do things work for now but it needs to change.
I was glad Running Man now limits their time of filming. They seem so much well organized.
I thought they'd be more organised than this, and not letting the people who'd already been eliminated not leave? Too far MBC, too far.
I wonder what the expected and actual recording times of previous idol championships were, and if it's increased every year due to more idols participating or something.
... that's how we're living the TV production life.
