INFINITE H‘s Hoya shed tears on the latest broadcast of ‘Immortal Song 2‘.
On the February 2nd episode, singer ALi dedicated Insooni‘s song “Father” to her own. Hoya began to tear up as she began her performance.
The idol explained, “Because I wanted to be a singer, I withdrew from high school. At the time, my parents scolded me a lot, and conversations with my father basically stopped,” expressing his apologetic heart.
Fellow member Dongwoo commented, “This is the first time I’ve seen Hoya cry like this.”
Hoya went on, “[My father and I both don't express ourselves well]. After my debut, my father took the initiative and bravely sent me a text message with a heart. Even then, I responded with short answers,” showing tears.
He stated, “Father, I love you,” and hung his head.

I believe in spanking your children but not to the point that your children will resent you for it which is what happened to hoya. He only respects his father NOW. because he isn't getting abused any more. he still probably resents those years he lived under that abusive situation. but he is learning to forgive and forget.
Can you tell me where do you read that his father beat him part? I don't think his situation is like Leeteuk where he was abuse when he's a kid that left him traumatized even after all the years has passed.

I've seen him cry twice/thrice after winning and during their concert but the way he cried in this episode is different and I legit teared up.
They asked Dongwoo why he wasn't crying, and Dongwoo said it's because he was so surprised because it's his first time seeing Hoya cry like this.

Ugh god I lost it the second that first tear slid down his cheek T_T Oh man I understand completely the feeling of not being able to communicate well emotionally with ur father. Thankfully it's gotten better and I hope it does for him too ;~;
