Top 20 Best Selling K-pop Artists of All Time

52502

Here are the numbers for the K-Pop idol groups best selling albums.

While numbers are not that important when it comes to which idol group sold better, it is always nice to see how well a certain group is doing.

When looking at the top selling albums around the world, it seems that the idol groups that have been around longer will most likely be on the list rather than rookie groups.

*This list was based on an online community board that was created by an online user.*

Its JPN plz. my imaginary JA identity is crying in rage right now.
haimazn 14th-Feb-2013 08:55 pm (UTC)
lol
jkkwai 14th-Feb-2013 07:27 pm (UTC)
totally not surprised that it'd be dongbang that's first ;A;
sisterjune 15th-Feb-2013 06:44 pm (UTC)
same. they werent called the gods of the east for nothin lol. (I mean aside from that being what their name meant XD)
benihime99 14th-Feb-2013 07:28 pm (UTC)
I thought SuJu would have sold more than BB but overall I'm not surprised
setsuna16 14th-Feb-2013 07:29 pm (UTC)
It is not accurate. HOT had every album they made sell over 1 million each, and they're not included. SES would be up there, too. And FinKl, Sekshies, etc.

List, I dub thee inaccurate.
es2pido 14th-Feb-2013 07:30 pm (UTC)
Thank you for reminding me that omg my bbs have a chance to overthrow T-error ;ooooo;
es2pido 14th-Feb-2013 07:29 pm (UTC)
T-error sold more albums than my Twennywan.

I am forever butthurt
thebluemonk 14th-Feb-2013 07:30 pm (UTC)
my butt is hurt along with yours.
turdferguson 14th-Feb-2013 07:29 pm (UTC)
WOW! go kara!
earthequality 14th-Feb-2013 07:31 pm (UTC)
I've seen this list already, but I'm not surprised at all. Though that 520K for JYJ did shock me a little, lol. I wish I could find out exactly what those numbers represent, but I'm glad they're selling everywhere
tsuyoi_hikari 15th-Feb-2013 02:11 am (UTC)
haha me too. Since I found their album -- particularly 'The Beginning' to be awful.. >.>
noirsama 14th-Feb-2013 07:31 pm (UTC)
I'm not supposed to be surprised by the Top 3 List but still the gap is baffling me. Woah, they're called Gods of the East for a reason... :|
sungmin 14th-Feb-2013 07:31 pm (UTC)
idts.
turdferguson 14th-Feb-2013 07:33 pm (UTC)
don't their fans like to buy 20x copies of each release though? so it's more like "which fans have money to spend"
blkjck 14th-Feb-2013 07:36 pm (UTC)
sm stans basically and most boy groups
blkjck 14th-Feb-2013 07:33 pm (UTC)
Had no idea T-ara was so successful in JPN good for them
thebluemonk 14th-Feb-2013 07:34 pm (UTC)
they aren't. im pretty sure people buy their albums because they're cheaper than buying doorstops, handfans, frisbees, etc.
lysblack 14th-Feb-2013 07:35 pm (UTC)
maybe i am too dumb because i am confused as fuck by this, especially the second one.
daisyazul 14th-Feb-2013 08:18 pm (UTC)
yea me too lol
devilsatin 14th-Feb-2013 07:35 pm (UTC)

JYJ (2010) : KOR - 556,061 / JAP - 315,000 / US - 520,000

Looks legit.
baroness 14th-Feb-2013 07:39 pm (UTC)

blkjck 14th-Feb-2013 07:38 pm (UTC)
Kara tho get money bitch
liferule91 14th-Feb-2013 07:44 pm (UTC)
That was the only thing I took from this.

People try to shit on KARA but look how they slayed even BB
xxqod 14th-Feb-2013 07:38 pm (UTC)
idk how popular exo is, but over 200k since 2012 seems like a whole lot compared to b.a.p and others of the same year + 1 & 2 years before... are sells in China included in the count?
cairistiona 14th-Feb-2013 07:55 pm (UTC)
The album wasn't sold in China, so it includes the EXO-M albums bought in Korea for Chinese fans.
crazyxcami 14th-Feb-2013 07:39 pm (UTC)
Makes me goddamn sad how little content 2NE1 have when they've been in the business for 4 years now...SMH. And compared to the content release by the people who debuted at the same year or after them T______________T

I mean seriously?! KR: 1 Album & 2 Minis. JP: 1 Album & a mini.

Albeit the korean ones are successful, its still sad :/

Edited at 2013-02-14 07:45 pm (UTC)
sub_divided 15th-Feb-2013 07:15 am (UTC)
But every song on that 1 album and 2 minis is excellent. So they're already ahead of a lot of other groups by that count.
lee_chikin 14th-Feb-2013 07:40 pm (UTC)
I feel so bad for Cross Gene and Spica :(((
Wth EXO, yes, I stan you, but what. the. hell.
chikage_chan 14th-Feb-2013 09:03 pm (UTC)
MTE at EXO... I love the boys, but how can they sell this much when they are totally unknown in Korea? It can't be all international and even crazy stans buying tons of albums couldnt get these numbers!
the_erotomanic 14th-Feb-2013 07:42 pm (UTC)
not really surprised that the group that debuted the earliest and stayed in japan the longest sold the most.
blkjck 14th-Feb-2013 07:43 pm (UTC)
The numbers for Dal Shabet are way off

Edited at 2013-02-14 07:48 pm (UTC)
blkjck 14th-Feb-2013 07:51 pm (UTC)
and teen top sold well over 100k in 2012 alone
turdferguson 14th-Feb-2013 07:43 pm (UTC)
*This list was based on an online community board that was created by an online user.*

oh well okay
uledy 14th-Feb-2013 07:45 pm (UTC)
Yup, emphasis added for sure.
liferule91 14th-Feb-2013 07:46 pm (UTC)
So you're telling me KARA had more sales than SUJU?
Sounds fishy
gyuri 14th-Feb-2013 07:51 pm (UTC)
I think that this list only applies to Japanese sales?
nortonamo 14th-Feb-2013 07:47 pm (UTC)
I don't know what I'm looking at, but I see "1. 2AM" for smth so woohoo \o/

Edited at 2013-02-14 07:48 pm (UTC)
