First Hearing is Held in Block B vs. Stardom Ent. Contract Case

666821519

The legal representatives of Block B and its agency Stardom Entertainment clashed at the first hearing regarding its contract case.

The hearing was held on February 22.

Both sides didn′t show any signs of stepping down in the case regarding the cancellation of Block B′s contract.

Block B′s legal representative stated, “The respondent (Stardom Ent.) violated the terms in the contract it signed with the petitioner (Block B), breaking the trust between them. [Block B] was led to request a cancellation of its exclusive contract because the company failed to follow the contract and changed its terms continuously while the group was active.”

Stadom Entertainment′s legal rep, on the other hand, said, “Just like the documents we turned in state, the claims from the petitioners do not qualify for a cancellation of the contract.”

The rep also added, “There is a mastermind behind the members who filed the lawsuit. We will unveil details on this by pressing criminal charges. We ask for a dismissal [of the request filed by Block B].”

The court announced that Block B′s side should turn in documents related to the case within two weeks′ time, while Stardom Entertainment was given three weeks. The final decision will be made within three weeks.

The seven members of Block B requested a cancellation of their contract with Stardom Entertainment on January 3. The group asserted that they hadn′t been paid what was specified in its contract, while the agency denied the claims.

"a mastermind behind the members"???!!!

I don't even know what this "mastermind" thing is, like is it so bewildering to Stardom that the members would file an injunction after Stardom fucked up their contract? OMG THERE MUST BE A MASTERMIND, or maybe there are seven really angry men who want to be paid what they're due?

It's weird how dragged out this keeps getting. You would think it'd be pretty straightforward: Either they were paid accordingly or they weren't, either Stardom took money from Block B's parents or they didn't. My guess is that Stardom is just desperate because their public image is going to shit (most kfans are in support of Block B in this one) and they're running the risk of losing their only real moneymaking entity (since they do precisely jack with EvoL).

ChoPD is ignoring them... such a fuckin' douche.
cocodile 23rd-Feb-2013 01:41 am (UTC)
Hey, whoa, Cho PD's name was just thrown around to drum up buzz for Block B when they debuted. He didn't/still doesnt have much to do with their management — especially after Stardom split from Brand New (which was a totally sketch move to begin with).

Ugh, what a mess. I just want the boys to come out OK with as little harm done as possible.
jasmineakaiumi 23rd-Feb-2013 05:02 am (UTC)
Rumours are going around that they went to him for help and he refused to meet them.
allegsiseu 22nd-Feb-2013 08:08 pm (UTC)

raiha_kasep 22nd-Feb-2013 08:12 pm (UTC)

Stardumb not only should cancel their contracts
but they should give the boys their pay as well.
if they made them/theirparents pay for their own expenses such as stage outfits, food, plane tickets, etc
then there is no doubt they are a shady ass company.

"There is a mastermind behind the members who filed the lawsuit. We will unveil details on this by pressing criminal charges."

What the hell are they even talking about. What mastermind. Way to try making them seem like ~criminals~. You made them pay for everything and not get a cent back. I hope this goes well for the poor babies, they deserve justice!
yelling_kinoko 22nd-Feb-2013 09:11 pm (UTC)
first they say some lee ceo took the money from the parents, then they state that those same money have been used to pay for the dorms, now they say this money do not exist.

they say that same person who helped this lee ceo to swindle money from the families and was fired bc of that is actually brainwashing the guys against stardom and now there is someone that resigned and has hatred against stardom that is actually behind all this.

Good job stardom.

I just hope this will end up well for Block B.

This is the real issue that Cassie-Gate should've fixed. The screwed up training/ cost deferment system. the whole system is messed up we spent 50 thousand bucks training you so now you owe us 1000% return on our investment before we'll even think of paying you... nobody should be under a deal like that.
asnindie 22nd-Feb-2013 09:17 pm (UTC)
Block B should press criminal charges against the company for swindling the parents first.
bauci 22nd-Feb-2013 09:32 pm (UTC)
allkpop's translation makes me side-eye the company even more. It's CCM level PR.

They said that their pay was omitted, but there is no deposit in any of the accounts that we manage, so our side is confused as well.

Good job handling your business.

There are some employees who left the company and they’re the masterminds of this current situation. After they left the company, they conspired with the members to bring about this lawsuit. We have proof. They are just pretending to do this for the sake of their name, but they have planned this ever since they were working in the office.

Get out your tin foil hats!

I thought the one who left the company was the one who robbed all the money from the parents? Why would they work together with them then?

Or are there people leaving the company left and right? Says something about management too, tbh. What happened to the claim that staff was not getting paid either?

Also they had this hearing to present the proof. What stopped them?

Seriously shady shit.

I remember that one new staff Monica who was a music publisher (apparently making sure they got paid for their music) but she left the company not long after joining. I wonder what made her leave.

i hope that block b will bring that damn company to the ground.
jjang_intae 22nd-Feb-2013 11:35 pm (UTC)
Everything Stardom Ent says now just annoys me. Hope Block B can make it out of this in one piece

"There is a mastermind behind the members who filed the lawsuit. We will unveil details on this by pressing criminal charges."

/)__- you have got to be kidding me. A "mastermind"? Criminal charges? Screw you, Stardom; you're the actual ones (or this elusive Mr. Lee guy, forget his name) committing crime by taking all of Block B's money. Gah.

korean entertainment lawsuits are so interesting....the amazingness of the excuses, blame, and accusations that come out of them are borderline entertainment on it's own.

going to wait to see if stardom releases some kind of "scandal" on the boys to sway public/fan opinion.

purekpopology 23rd-Feb-2013 06:32 am (UTC)
idg how this "mastermind" think is even relevant? regardless of whether or not someone is pushing the to do this, you didn't pay them anything and stole money from them lol? just because someone else is encouraging them to do something you don't like, doesn't negate the fact you screwed them over.
iznanassi 23rd-Feb-2013 06:01 pm (UTC)
How dare that motherfucker from Block B try and fight for his/his group's rights, justice, and hard earned money???? I hope that Stardom Ent. shuts him down and ruins his career, the bastard....
earthequality 23rd-Feb-2013 07:37 pm (UTC)
Word is Block B doesn't even want the money they're due, just a sincere apology to their parents and a cancellation of their contract. :/
modestgoddess79 25th-Feb-2013 09:01 pm (UTC)
this is sad that the company is corrupt that they rather fight it then just let them leave without pay and break the contract
fatjackinc 23rd-Feb-2013 07:39 pm (UTC)
UGH I WISH I COULD PUNCH STARDOM REPS IN THE THROAT
