Sunggyu curls his hair, takes on role as Amadeus
Sunggyu has been cast in the titular role of Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart in "Amadeus," which was written by Peter Shaffer and was adapted in 1984 into the multi-Academy Award winning film of the same name. He'll be sharing the role with Serious Actors Jo Jung Suk and Kim Jae Wook. It is not a musical but rather a straight play.
Playing the role of Amadeus demands that the actors portray an obstinate yet mercurial genius who is simultaneously childlike yet tormented, and the originator of the role, Tom Hulce, was nominated for an Oscar for his portrayal.
He recently shot the poster for the role, which is behind the cut.
The play runs late February to late April; Sunggyu will begin his performances at the end of March (in time for OP's birthday tbh).
So shook by this news that I made my first post in Omona just to talk about it. This movie is one of my faves and if you've never seen it, you need to. Tom Hulce is nuts in it and I am stoked to see what Sunggyu manages to do with the role. Stan talent, stan good taste, stan Kim Sunggyu.
