I'm here in the states being bitter as FUCK that NBC remains actual garbage...watching the Opening Ceremonies. Now. After literally the whole rest of the world.

*rage*
sharkbait 10th-Feb-2018 02:02 am (UTC)
*nods* and this generic music....and this commentary is annoying me. The BBC feed this morning was much better, imho. ARRRGH.

The opening ceremony took place at 6am on the east coast of the US, so I’m watching it recorded right now. I was really annoyed with the announcers explaining the ceremony as it went on, but the worst part is the US walking in to the tune of Gangnam Style LMAO who’s idea was this
vintage_boom 10th-Feb-2018 02:25 am (UTC)
the Korean Olympic Committee and organizers ¯\_(ツ)_/¯ seemed appropriate tbh

i guess this happened this morning but i'm kinda pissed about nathan chen getting the burnt of shit in headlines earlier when none of the us team was suuuuper amazing in the group event

also, rlly don't wanna see shawn white promos! give me chloe kim
missshallelujah 10th-Feb-2018 02:02 pm (UTC)
i'm no nathan chen fan but the way the media is attacking him when they were the ones to paint him as the figure skating messiah is fucked, it's not the kid's fault yall are dumb as a rock

I watched the opening with an international bar crowd last night and it was super fun. Korea got huge applause, as did Italy and Canada. I was pretty much alone cheering U.S.A. I love the healthy competition of the nations at the Olympics.

The little, hot countries got big cheers too, like Bermuda in their shorts, and Eritrea. And the drones plus skiing/snowboarding were so cool.

Lee Eun-mi was a baller with her hair and outfit. I have no idea who she is, but I got a womancrush.

Also, pretty much the whole bar noped those little kids cruising in the boat, and then lost it for the women lighting the torch.

cagallisakura 10th-Feb-2018 05:26 am (UTC)

Wooooooo Sweden takes home the gold from the first medal race in Pyeongchang! 🇸🇪🇸🇪🇸🇪🇸🇪🇸🇪🇸🇪🇸🇪
donaldjdrumpf 10th-Feb-2018 08:27 am (UTC)
She waited till the race was like 3/4 over and there was a super steep uphill and just climbed up that big hill so fucking fast when all those other girls were tired. She kicked ass lol
a_suitcase 10th-Feb-2018 11:44 am (UTC)
Is anyone else watching the speed skating??
daceymormont 10th-Feb-2018 11:53 am (UTC)

yixingsforehead 10th-Feb-2018 12:38 pm (UTC)
whoop whoop shaolin's first final was meh, but at least the race was fun

i/'m low-key pressed, i was so hoping for correct hungarian name order when i realized that western names were in western order, while east asian names were in the correct order.... and then the announcement was right! but the text on screen was wrong :(
whatevs
a_suitcase 10th-Feb-2018 12:48 pm (UTC)
I know nothing about Hungarian names, is it different to other European countries?
mariaslamb 10th-Feb-2018 03:29 pm (UTC)
I'm a huge curling fan but this streamlined mixed event is not as fun. Why not play with the regular rules just with 2 men and 2 women if they want to have it in the games?
lostintheechoes 10th-Feb-2018 05:10 pm (UTC)
WHAT IS THE POINT OF HAVING LIVE EVENTS WHEN IT'S NOT EVEN ON NETWORK TELEVISION!

i don't have cable and everything is on cable. i hate you NBC.
