Jiyeon’s agency to take legal action over strip video controversy

With the topic of T-ara’s maknae Jiyeon participating in video strip chat sessions currently being a hot issue, Jiyeon’s parents and entertainment company have confronted the issue with an official statement, denying all evidence.

Core Contents Media stated, “We directly checked with Jiyeon herself, and it was confirmed that it was only someone who looks similar.”

Jiyeon’s parents also told her company that, “Jiyeon is only a high school student, but she has already been gravely scarred and crying heavily because of this issue. They are wishing for legal actions to be taken against the reporters and media who are criticizing Jiyeon because of pictures that have not even been confirmed, and they wish for this to not happen again.”

Meanwhile, Jiyeon’s agency is currently working with cyber investigators to search for the original distributor of the video, and also revealed they will indeed be taking legal actions against reporters who are using unconfirmed pictures of Jiyeon as evidence.






Supposed evidence of a video claiming that T-ara’s Jiyeon participated in obscene chatting in her past has been rapidly spreading around the internet.

On October 6th, various community sites uploaded a 35 minute video clip of a female student stripping and participating in obscene chatting. Netizens began claiming that the girl in question was T-ara’s Jiyeon, and soon developed rumors that were spread on Twitter and other sites.

However, T-ara’s agency has clarified the rumors by stating, “The female in the video is not Jiyeon.” A representative spoke through the phone and stated, “Our company has watched and analyzed the video and even asked Jiyeon whether it was her or not. We came to the conclusion that it is just a female that happens to look like Jiyeon.”

The representative also expressed his disappointment with the rumors and revealed, “We will be further discussing the video through a meeting and consider legal action.”

The agency has decided that the situation has become too severe and is planning to release clarification information to the press soon.



Despite agency representatives rejecting rumors that T-ara’s Jiyeon was involved in strip chat activities, netizen detectives believe they have found evidence that the videos do show Jiyeon in the buff.

Netizens dug up pre-debut pictures of Jiyeon to compare her side-by-side with the girl in the video, and they believe the similarities are strong. Besides the similar facial resemblance, netizens have also found marks (it’s the black dots, not the wrinkles or shape of the fingers) around her finger and armpit that they believe are concrete evidence that the girl in the video is indeed T-ara’s Jiyeon.
