Omona's favorite Transparent Pants Oppa praises Busker Busker

JYP (Park Jin Young) has highly praised the music of Busker Busker.

On April 2, JYP posted on his Twitter, "I just listened to Busker Busker's music. It's so beautiful that it hurts... thanks to them, I stayed in my recording studio all night, making music. Ah, I'm hurting and I'm so happy."

What especially sticks out is that Busker Busker was a contestant on Mnet's "Superstar K3" whereas JYP is currently a judge for SBS "K-Pop Star."

Netizens who came across this tweet commented, "I'm hearing praise from many places about Busker Busker's new album. I guess it's really that good," "I really like Busker Busker. I wish them the best in the future," "I really hope the rest of the 'Superstar K3' contestants will release albums," and "If it's to the point where JYP gives them that kind of high praise, then I can guess the album's quality even when I haven't listened to it yet."

Meanwhile, Yoon Do Hyun spoke about a particular track from Busker Busker's album, "Yeosu Night Sea," on Mnet's "Yoon Do Hyun's Must." Busker Busker's lead vocal Jang Bum Joon wrote and composed the track himself. Yoon Do Hyun said, "Even a man in his forties like me would like to sing this song." Also during the show, T-ara's Eunjung commented, "Busker Busker's album is the best. Now I feel like I have to go to the 'Yeosu Night Sea.'"

Busker Busker denies rumor of boycotting television appearances:

The news that the indie band Busker Busker has boycotted the major networks is incorrect according to Mnet.

A staff member from Mnet spoke with OSEN on April 10th and said, “The news that they have boycotted appearing on television is false.  The reason that they are not appearing is because they are focusing on their first concert which will be held in May.”

We are just following the desire of the group who wants to focus on their live performance, and so we are cutting down their schedules,” continued the staff member.

The members themselves are not concerned with appearing on cable or television.  In a recent interview that Busker Busker had with OSEN, they said, “We like concerts more than broadcasts.  We want to focus on doing concerts.  A lot of people ask us about appearing on television but currently we really do not care too much about it.  If we have an opportunity to sing, that is all that matters.

It has been reported that a certain station requested for them to appear on a popular program but they declined the offer, and that is where this rumor apparently stemmed from.

Busker Busker will be holding their concert titled ‘Youth Bus’ from May 4th through the 6th.

Yay! Thanks for posting this OP! I've been wanting to learn more about these guys!
kimiko1387 14th-Apr-2012 04:09 pm (UTC)
And here I was being called strange for befriending my college professors...clearly we should have taken the next step and started a band.

Music is lovely though, definitely can see why they're topping the charts (they sound so good for spring).

Hapa? He doesn't look totally white. Maybe hispanic...hmmzorz...

Anyway, nice music. Cute and chill.
xredada 14th-Apr-2012 04:22 pm (UTC)
I'm addicted to Cherry blossom ending. The lyrics are soo cute.
already 14th-Apr-2012 04:29 pm (UTC)
Busker Busker for all the awards tbh.
I love every song in the album and that rarely happens. Loneliness Amplifier is my favorite aside from Cherry Blossom Ending and Yoseo Night Sea.

If we have an opportunity to sing, that is all that matters.
I know people will probably think them as snobs because they refused to do broadcasts, but I admire them for that.

ty for this post OP :)

I was quoting this actually:

The members themselves are not concerned with appearing on cable or television. In a recent interview that Busker Busker had with OSEN, they said, “We like concerts more than broadcasts. We want to focus on doing concerts. A lot of people ask us about appearing on television but currently we really do not care too much about it. If we have an opportunity to sing, that is all that matters.”

I didn't say they boycott broadcasts.
asnindie 14th-Apr-2012 07:13 pm (UTC)
The main vocalist was worried about his voice (they're doing concerts soon), so they're not doing too many broadcasting shows, also I don't think alot of the shows will let them play live.
deerlike 14th-Apr-2012 06:36 pm (UTC)
True, but they clearly prefer live venues where they can actually play and sing, to broadcasts where they can only sing.
asnindie 14th-Apr-2012 07:05 pm (UTC)
I love the vocals in Yoseo Night Sea, I love his voice.
jongkeyisreal 14th-Apr-2012 04:31 pm (UTC)

I loved their MV so much, the animations were adorable. I'm so happy their album is doing really well. And the black and white photo is really nice.

The winning clip was really cute, especially when Jonghyun came over to talk to them. Were fangirls really pressed though? They need to calm down.
dbsked 14th-Apr-2012 05:13 pm (UTC)
I think their old stuff was relatively popular, first I heard about them when Yoochun recommended the group on his cyworld, but "Bus stop" was on the playlists of most my korean friends)))

you can check youtube, I'm sure there should be some their stuff)
asnindie 14th-Apr-2012 07:08 pm (UTC)
Bus Stop is what they sang on Superstar K3, they were pretty popular on there. This is their debut album, the other releases were all from Superstar K3, which are pretty good.
dbsked 15th-Apr-2012 04:39 pm (UTC)
oh, sorry, I don't follow korean shows so I didn't know they sang it on sk3.. that explains why the song was popular..
dbsked 14th-Apr-2012 04:49 pm (UTC)
glorious post indeed \0/

I personally loooove "Calling on the phone" (Calling you)! is on repeat for several days^^ so chill~~
the_erotomanic 14th-Apr-2012 05:24 pm (UTC)
bless this post. busker busker needs more love. :o)

bum jun and hyeong tae are adorable. still remember how smiley they were when they got eliminated before getting into the top 11 of ssk3.
very_pinku 14th-Apr-2012 05:38 pm (UTC)
The pictures for the 1st look strikes me as odd cause why does the Korean guys have one lady and the white guy has two...
But anyway, I like how their music is fresh and relaxing to listen to. It's nice that these types of talented groups are performing well.
Hopefully in the future, it becomes more balanced in the charts so that non idols as well as idols can compete fairly.
rurutia88 14th-Apr-2012 06:11 pm (UTC)
i really2 like the cherry blossom ending song...now i need to listen to the others too. they r that good that they beat up all ur oppars and unnirs..somehow, this slightly convinced me that korean music still got hope lol
rurutia88 14th-Apr-2012 06:13 pm (UTC)
what's busker busker means anyway?
asnindie 14th-Apr-2012 07:09 pm (UTC)
I think people just like repetition lol, like Hunter Hunter.
obeytheempress 15th-Apr-2012 06:28 am (UTC)
iirc it comes from the word "busking" which means to perform in the street for tips and whatnot. i believe the band started just playing wherever they could on the street and collecting tips from passerbys, aka busking.
neongoldtooth 14th-Apr-2012 06:46 pm (UTC)
dang i loveee their album! thanks for the post. i've been meaning to look for more info about them.
asnindie 14th-Apr-2012 07:10 pm (UTC)
I wish I had more info about them tbh, but there isn't much on the blogs or anything.
notyourgeisha 14th-Apr-2012 07:12 pm (UTC)

Busker Busker oppas better than your faves, I love this album so much q_q

Who else lolled when they ran for the tree and not the girl?
cairistiona 14th-Apr-2012 09:50 pm (UTC)
Yup. :) Liked how put-out she was though. Still wondering why she stood there for what seemed like days on end.

Tree Sasaeng.
deerlike 14th-Apr-2012 07:17 pm (UTC)
Very glad for this post, it gave me the chance to sit down and have a proper listen. :) I like what I hear - especially the lead vocals. Jang Bumjoon has this really interesting quality to his voice (I want to say it's almost classical-sounding?) and I like the way he plays around it. Kind of reminds me of my krock queen, Kim Yoon-ah.
asnindie 14th-Apr-2012 07:58 pm (UTC)
I like what he does with his voice too, rather than just doing a one note at the end he tries different things. Reminds me abit of classical Indian music lol
deerlike 14th-Apr-2012 10:46 pm (UTC)
I hear it. It's definitely different from what you usually hear from male vocalists, even in k-indie.
weerainbow 15th-Apr-2012 12:02 am (UTC)
tbh their sound isn't something I'm particularly into, it's not something I could really listen to for a long time though a little is nice, but I can tell they're definitely a talented bunch and I hope they do really well :)
mahmoodnooni23 15th-Apr-2012 12:50 am (UTC)
i love k-indie and we need more of it. definitely listening to them~

YAY! Busker Busker! I'm really liking this group. :)

wow, I am surprised by their age. Is it listed under international age or Korean? 'cuz...I thought they are so much older than this!
juhli 22nd-Jul-2012 09:43 pm (UTC)
Lol, I love the fact that Bradley was Hyoeng Taes English Teacher and didn't let him pass because he didn't come to class xD
