BoA to make her come back in the 4th week of July

12:13 am - 07/13/2012

"National Diva" BoA (26) will be going head to head with the Olympics.

It has been confirmed recently that BoA is set to make her comeback in the 4th week of July, thrilling many fans with the news. On July 12th, an official said, "BoA is scheduled to make her comeback around the end of the month and is working on last minute things."

Another official said, "In about two weeks, BoA seems to be scheduled to return at the end of July. Since BoA is already popular, a lot of music representatives are looking forward and have high hopes for her comeback."

BoA's comeback activities has attracted attention due to the fact that it will be around the time the London 2012 Olympics will begin. This year's Olympics will open on July 28th (Korea Time) until August 13th.

Artists will usually release albums and singles relating to the Olympics, avoiding promotions during major sporting events such as the Olympics and the World Cup. Therefore, new albums and new promotions from artists are usually not seen as these sporting events usually take the slots of entertainment programs.

However, BoA has shown strong confidence in her new album, in which she has prepared for a long time.

BoA last released her 6th Korean album, "Hurricane Venus," back in August 2010, marking her 10th Korean anniversary. This will be her first comeback in 2 years.

In addition, BoA has been nicknamed a "Goddess" for how beautiful she looked during her judge appearances on the first season of SBS "K-Pop Star." Including her charms, there is a heightened expectation for her new album.

In "Hurricane Venus," BoA showed a stylish, funky visual, along with a powerful stage presence and vocals.

Last month, BoA was spotted near Hongdae, Seoul with actors Baewoo and Yoo Ah-in at a cafe. The group were shooting for KBS "Win Win" as well as shooting a scene to which fans who saw them have speculated was for her music video, "killing two birds with one stone."

"Solo Queen" BoA will not be the only one returning this summer, as Son Dambi has also been announced that she herself will be returning with a new album.

Nearly all the preparation for her comeback has been completed including her music video and choreography. Her comeback is expected to not run into any delays.

thanks for the info, j-pop fandom representative
seungtoria 13th-Jul-2012 04:37 am (UTC)
ot, but I like your icons a lot. you have that d.o. icon, and one N icon... yep

She's still the most successful Non-Native artist in J-Pop history, if memory serves. Certainly one of the top ranking. I hardly consider three million selling albums a 'flop.'

BoA broke down barriers. Haters can hate all they want. I'm a defender of the Queen until my dying day, but even I can't deny that Identity was a GOD AWFUL album. It doesn't diminish the fact that she was one of the leaders of the Halllyu wave in Japan, for better or worse.

People not remembering her achievements doesn't mean they didn't happen.

Yes, I could see Mariah being number one. BoA's still up there, though.

I don't mind people disliking her, okay... that's a lie. But I can respect that people have a right to their opinion. I just don't get how people, logically, can quantify her Japanese career as a flop, because if they look at the numbers and compare them, basically every Korean artist who has crossed over would be a flop, too.

She's talking about a Non-Japanese Asian, not a foreign artist in general.

Please leave all my SM faves alone if you don't have anything good to say. First, Super Junior, then, BoA? This is way too disrespectful for me as both a K-pop/J-pop fan.

Flop is a bit too harsh, she was really popular a few years ago, however after 2008 (I'd even say 2006) she lost the peak of popularity now she's just one of the many Korean artists in Japan but she's still highly recognized and respected because she broke barriers. And Valenti's still a classic.

But ia there's a major difference when you talk about her in KPop or JPop fandom

So they can all be dorky together on stage during the encore? I love when that happens.
anconeous 13th-Jul-2012 08:01 am (UTC)
They always overlap though. It's nothing new, especially there's a lot of artists in one company.

she is aging really fast I've seen her look really old in a lot of pics and honestly if her age wasn't posted up there i would have guessed she was easily in her 30's already, she does not look 26 like at all.
xcherryblossomx 14th-Jul-2012 01:05 am (UTC)
she looks older than Kahi and Lee Hyori, its sad.

lol why does koreaboo say sports chosun as a source when it's nate?
their paragraph about shooting the mv and win win is also horribly mistranslated lmao
didn't go through the whole article on nate though so idk if there are any other discrepancies

yay for boa though! i'm excited to see what she comes out with
xcherryblossomx 14th-Jul-2012 01:07 am (UTC)
nate used a sports chosun article.

The writer of the original korean article is 김상호기자sangho94@sportsseoul.com

If she's going head-to-head with the Olympics, then that's bad. The Olympics is an international prestige and is probably going to overshadow Boa's comeback.

But at least she's not going against World Cup.
