IU makes a cute mistake while performing in Japan

IU recently made an adorable mistake while performing on Fuji TV‘s ‘Mezamashi Live‘ that melted some hearts without a doubt!

The singer was originally scheduled to sing four songs, including the Japanese version of “You & I“, and give a final commentary before returning for an encore song, should the fans request it. Unfortunately for IU, she had to sing and dance in the heat, and by the end of her performance, she had completely forgotten her closing commentary.

She stated instead, “My head’s gone a bit weird because it’s so hot. I had a commentary specially prepared… This song is my last song. I’m supposed to leave now… I’ll go now.”

IU then hinted to the crowd that she also had an encore song prepared by shouting as she left the stage, “I want to hear you all say encore! Encore! Encore!”

The crowd readily shouted back for an encore, and IU adorably reemerged on stage, after leading the chant for the encore herself, to finish off her performance with one more song.

IU's too cute. Though I'm a little surprised at how comfortable she appears speaking in Japanese.. I didn't know she knew that much of the language.

She speaks really good Japanese, I'm impressed. Well, not really good, but compared to other Kpop artists performing in Japan she's really good. Clearly conversational. :)

Her Japanese is not too bad, considering she prob learned it while being so busy.
Some mistakes but surprisingly, even with those mistakes, you understand what she's trying to say.

I wish more kpop idols were like her. Not afraid of making mistakes but trying to converse with the audience.

mate, i feel as though some idols just don't make the effort the learn the language and to use it with fans.

I love this girl. She always seems so down to earth and easygoing to me. I love how rather than trying to cover up the fact she'd forgotten what she planned to say she just admitted it all right there on stage lol. Her Japanese sounds fairly good (she managed to explain herself pretty well by the sounds of things) so she probably could have bluffed her way without much notice.
