After what happened with Daesung, this shouldn't be taken lightly.
stargazer789 25th-Jul-2012 01:33 am (UTC)
I don't think this was taken lightly? His license was suspend which is what SK was supposed to do for someone with the blood alcohol level he had. Unless you mean in terms of punishment from JYP which then yeahhh they should probably do something more than a apology statement.

I really want to smack the loving shit out of every chick I hear that says" oppa didn't mean" it shit. This man willingly got behind a vehicle under the influence. It doesnt matter that the laws in you home country differ than the ones in korea. He wasnt driving in your country when he broke the law. He should have know better than this. And to top it off he was a block from home. He put peoples lives in danger, that just shows how selfish he is. I don't respect people like that. He's lost respect from me.
angel_9_lives 25th-Jul-2012 01:40 am (UTC)
I don't think "selfish" is the right word...very irresponsible, yes, and very disappointing, but "selfish"? o.O

(not saying that he doesn't deserve to lose peoples' respect over it, just not really agreeing with that particular description for his actions:S)

and yeah, "oppa didn't mean it", my ass. imo, a person shouldn't be allowed to drink unless they're mature enough to know not to drive/shoot/etc. while under the influence.
helveticalight 25th-Jul-2012 01:41 am (UTC)
Holy shit that CCTV, I fucking cringed watching it. SMH at him and anyone who tries to excuse this tbh.
obviousgirl 25th-Jul-2012 01:53 am (UTC)
Cringing at CCTV footage.
dorkiilove 25th-Jul-2012 01:56 am (UTC)
DEAD AND GONE@ JYP'S EXCUSE.

"in a written statement of what happened during the accident, Nichkhun simply wrote, ‘I’m Sorry’ as his Korean writing skills were lacking"

ok bye
devilsatin 25th-Jul-2012 02:19 am (UTC)
i'm pretty sure he just admitted to using that excuse to get out of situations on some variety show like last week lol :-(

So his BAC was .056%?

0.01–0.049 = No Penalty
0.05–0.09 = 100 days license suspension
>0.10 = Cancellation of car license. wiki

So he'll at least get 100 days license suspension. The motorcyclist wasn't terribly hurt was he? I hope not. It didn't appear that either of them were going too terribly fast.

And those streets in Korea are so dangerous. People never look it seems before they drive out into them...sometimes they'll honk when approaching. They always scared me. But Khun was in the smaller road so he definitely should have yielded. :/
chibi_rei 25th-Jul-2012 04:24 am (UTC)
People never look it seems before they drive out into them.

Word. Even when pedestrians are present. Super scary.
I actually got hit 3 weeks ago while riding my bike across the street (had the green light to cross). Luckily it wasn't too bad, but still -- there are traffic laws for a reason!
luvey 25th-Jul-2012 02:00 am (UTC)
i wonder if JYP will make Khun disappear for a few months/year, especially since it seems like he lost an endorsement now (Caribbean Bay took his picture down from their website.)

god damn

ayumikoshiro 25th-Jul-2012 02:21 am (UTC)
That's awful. Did he go through a light or something. That intersection looked incredibly unsafe. I saw no light and/or stop signs neither one of them even attempted to slow down.

I'm glad everyone turned out okay for now. I hope that the cyclist has no lasting injuries from this because with accidents you never really know whats wrong.
asnindie 25th-Jul-2012 11:03 am (UTC)
Neither seems to even stop, just went through.
breakinglocks 25th-Jul-2012 02:38 am (UTC)
I'm a BBC but hell, people stop it. >.< BBCs are appearently bashin on Nichkhun now. They set up suicide petitions for him now.
Did they really forget how they felt when the accident with Block B happend? Didn't they learn anything?
It's so embarrassing for 'normal' Block B fans, well, in general K-Pop fans imo.
burger 25th-Jul-2012 02:42 am (UTC)
The speed at which people set up suicide petitions for idols who do pm anything wrong seriously baffles me. This was an overwhelmingly stupid move on Nichkhun's part but to suggest he should kill himself over it............. ide
kingalexarnold 25th-Jul-2012 02:41 am (UTC)
jfc at that footage ;-;
breakinglocks 25th-Jul-2012 02:50 am (UTC)
2PM and Miss A's Suzy had a CF for Carribean Bay, didn't they?
Look what happend to their website: http://24.media.tumblr.com/tumblr_m7p1dxPoxm1qg5wdlo1_500.png
idk what to think about that to be honest.
kakkoi_x 25th-Jul-2012 03:03 am (UTC)
dang, do you have a link to the website?
ueda_hyo 25th-Jul-2012 02:53 am (UTC)
Jesus fuck, that footage. The thought that he could have hit that man dead on TT__TT

It's a miracle the motorcyclist is alive.
lovelyxbeauty 25th-Jul-2012 02:57 am (UTC)
I just don't understand, if you go out and KNOW you will be drinking, don't take your car, choose another method to get out and back, and if you go out and end up having a drink, even just one, call a taxi or a friend to take you home, it isn't that difficult and considering (if I'm correct) his alcohol level wasn't that high that it would cloud his judgement, I'm side-eyeing him right now.
martha_sal 25th-Jul-2012 01:48 pm (UTC)
Honestly, do you take a cab every time you have one or two drinks? Not defending him or anything but really...
orenji13 25th-Jul-2012 03:05 am (UTC)
Actually, looking at the accident video and dismiss his alcohol blood, both party seem to collide in the same time with none even bother to reduce their speed at intersection. I see sooo many driver do this especially on lonely road and got honk countless time cause I decided to value my live by going slow on interception -__-

But again, he can anticipated it better if he do not drive under the influence of the alcohol and can avoid it from happening.
So Nickhun is irresponsible driver all in all. DUI and careless driving..

confuqued 25th-Jul-2012 03:55 am (UTC)
I'm not trying to excuse the fact that he was drinking and driving, but I also am confused as to why neither vehicle stopped or at least slowed down, because there is obviously limited visibility at that intersection.

Unless the cyclist was already in front of Nichkhun when he was hit.
kakkoi_x 25th-Jul-2012 03:10 am (UTC)
was he speeding? why the hell was he driving so fast in that tiny neighborhood
chibi_rei 25th-Jul-2012 04:27 am (UTC)
Kinda common. I see cars doing that pretty often, even in very crowded small streets.
mingobus 25th-Jul-2012 03:43 am (UTC)
Damn I thought this the accident was just Nickkhun not being able to stop in time when the guy in front of him stopped. I did not expect a T-Bone... Nickkhun's so lucky this wasn't fatal.
af_fx_tion 25th-Jul-2012 03:48 am (UTC)
That CCTV footage looks bad. I'm surprised the cyclist isn't nearly dead. Why couldn't Nichkhun just walk to the party if it was two blocks away? A taxi wouldn't have even costed that much.

If I see another "Oppa didn't mean it" fan defending him...
aoiblue_kun 25th-Jul-2012 03:55 am (UTC)
0.056, tbh, i dont think he was THAT drunk(not denying he wasnt), I think he couldve been texting or something else that distracted him? Either way, he fucked up, hopefully he apologizes himself soon.

And damn, I hate those kind of korean roads, it's just open and shit, no stops signs.

Now, was the motorcyclist wearing a helmet?

Edited at 2012-07-25 03:55 am (UTC)
ideservestars 25th-Jul-2012 07:06 am (UTC)
oppa didnt mean it
uniqlos 25th-Jul-2012 04:10 am (UTC)
apparently the guy was driving his motorcycle without a helmet? (that's what i heard and I can't watch this rn because i'm at school so if i'm wrong i'm sorry and you can ignore this post) it doesn't excuse khun's dui though but it won't go to court because both parties are at fault (if the guy didn't have his helmet). khun will have to apologize, compensate the guy and do community service probably.

i can't with jype rn but i hope at least khun's apologized to the guy and his family, that's what's important, not the national bawww-ing to the whole country when famous people screw up. people only do that to save face and appease endorsements.

Two wrongs don't make a right though...
urbandrive 25th-Jul-2012 04:31 am (UTC)
I haven't watch the CCTV clip because I'm afraid it might be too brutal for my eyes.

As for the fans who try to excuse what Nichkhun did, I don't think it's appropriate. In any other situation, perhaps it could've worked that way but he was drunk and went behind the wheel, putting his own life in danger as well as those of others. It was an irresponsible thing to do. I understand that he is a beloved idol and it's normal for us to want to defend him, but I don't think anyone has the right to say that he "didn't mean it." All we can do is pray for the health of the motorcyclist and pray that he isn't injured severely and will recover soon. As for Khun, the only thing fans can do is hope for the best. He deserves to be punished but I also hope that through this he learns not to drive under the influence again.

On a last note, f whoever is threatening him because it's not their place. It's a terrible thing to do on his part but you can't expect someone to learn their lesson by being violent about it.
iiluminate 25th-Jul-2012 04:32 am (UTC)
waiting for an official apology from khun at this point. both parties may have been at fault but the fact of the matter is khun was still driving under the influence and that is reckless and illegal even if he didn't hit anyone. he needs to man up and face the public.
kanot 25th-Jul-2012 11:59 am (UTC)
My feelings exactly.
