honeebs 1st-Aug-2012 09:40 pm (UTC)
So far I liked it a lot.
BUT how is that a feature, Dok2!? He does a half ass intro and gets a feature title wtf?
---
Really good, I can do without LV and Stereo.
Vocals are nice.
crazyxcami 1st-Aug-2012 09:52 pm (UTC)
pressed at I'm Missin' You being auto tuned and shit! I need an acoustic version of it OTL
Like cmon! I have 2NE1's TO ANYONE for that...

I really like Turn The Lights On,Goodbye Tata & Luv Vision .

Stereo,Crush,Late,Before The Weekend Comes,Anniversary, are just okay.

Their concept confuses me lol they wear badass street looking outfits yet their songs... is nowhere near "badass" ? lol

MTE at your last statement. I think that's why the album sounds lackluster to me.

+1
xxkumorixx 1st-Aug-2012 09:55 pm (UTC)
the songs are good.

lol i got caught off guard cuz one of the girls looked like cl.
the bad ass concept doesn't fit them well for this song.

*NOTE: D-UNIT’s title track, “I’M MISSIN’ YOU” for their 1st Album ‘Welcome To Business’, was originally made for BIGBANG and is produced by DM (YMGA) & Kush. Once the demo came out they realized the style of the song would suit D-UNIT more than BIGBANG. The lyrics were then revised accordingly.// D-UNIT is a girl group under D-BUSINESS run by DM (former YMGA member & YG Family Artist) // Member U-Jin is a former YG Trainee.

i have been saying this the whole time lol. the reason they kind of sound like bb or 2ne1 is because a lot of yg people are involve with this group.
xxkumorixx 2nd-Aug-2012 12:34 am (UTC)
yeah..nobody can really say they ripped off 2ne1 when the people who created the whole thing are all rooted from YG.
k0dama 1st-Aug-2012 09:59 pm (UTC)
oh.. it's nice.

But now I really want to go see CL perform some more lol
yolleh 1st-Aug-2012 10:03 pm (UTC)
I'm Missin' You uses one of what I like to call the magic chord progressions that make me like the song no matter what.
Because of the chorus alone I have to like this song.
ideservestars 1st-Aug-2012 10:05 pm (UTC)
poor mans 2NE1, tbh.

aww GD looks so cute. Where is this from?
o_srsly 2nd-Aug-2012 02:21 am (UTC)
I think that was GD for beanpole last year

this is the only one I can find online now --> http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=wa1v85lhsDI
hellodee16 1st-Aug-2012 11:09 pm (UTC)
well... this is practically yg material without the yg money
so I can't entirely disagree with this comment tbh lol

I still look forward to their performances tho.
fabledlamb 1st-Aug-2012 10:15 pm (UTC)
Not very original. I was expecting them to sound different, like a bit tougher and more hip hop? But this is such generic kpop fare...

Not that the album is bad or anything, Crush and Turn The Lights On are definitely (late) summer jam material. But why debut a whole new group with songs that might as well have been sung/performed by an existing group? (And they can't even use their 'but we have Boram's sister' card to get attention at the moment, so ironic...)

That said, I'm kinda looking forward to their music show performances. Their title track itself might not be really going anywhere sound-wise but at least the choreo seems really strong, maybe they'll be able to make more of an impact live.
tabi 2nd-Aug-2012 06:49 am (UTC)
IA with your first statement. I can't tell whether it's because their vocals don't match the beats or something else. Which is kinda sad because I do like their songs yet they're missing an important factor.
aleexnews 1st-Aug-2012 10:19 pm (UTC)
from the teasers i had such high hope for Missin' You but what a let down tbh. their vocals are nothing special and if anything i found a lot of their voices annoying.

i'll have to listen to the rest of the album later but the title track didn't impress me.
madbeevip 1st-Aug-2012 10:36 pm (UTC)
anyone got a dl link?
kingalexarnold 1st-Aug-2012 10:45 pm (UTC)
putting my stanning aside i cant help but feel like some of these songs were created for big bang and 2ne1 not really for d-unit. i love the album and i think they are flawless but its unfair for them tbh. i still think they are by far the best group to debut atm though and im sure they will be really successful.

also the whole omg they are 2ne1 copy cat comments are dumb. what did you expect when DM and Kush produced the songs?? they are very heavily yg influenced because yg people created this group. it makes me wonder how people are going to react when the new girl group debuts tbh.
tabi 2nd-Aug-2012 06:46 am (UTC)
I think the copycat comments were because of the wardrobe in the MV. Intentional or not, that one girl was styled way too blatantly like CL, but I blame the stylists for that.
xfdryad 2nd-Aug-2012 12:07 am (UTC)
I like it, and yay, they can dance! By which I mean they put some emphasis into rather than looking like they're exercising in the living room. With frequent breaks for water.
o_o_mai_o_o 2nd-Aug-2012 01:28 am (UTC)
Hmm idk, not really impressed. Their voices aren't really anything that's wowing me, but I need to listen to the rest of the album to really see.
falling_empress 2nd-Aug-2012 03:27 am (UTC)
at least their face isn't CL's
pivotandsway 3rd-Aug-2012 02:39 am (UTC)
ia~
olive_101 2nd-Aug-2012 02:39 am (UTC)
Impressive. I'm not that into their title song but the rest of the album is pretty decent,
falling_empress 2nd-Aug-2012 04:45 am (UTC)
so QT i like it.
move over twenny wann.
tabi 2nd-Aug-2012 07:10 am (UTC)
Decent but I'm hoping for an improvement the next time they release an album.
ashiva 2nd-Aug-2012 08:54 am (UTC)
The MV was kinda boring, one of the girls was styled to look way too much like CL, and I think they autotuned too much their vocals, however, I like instrumentals of the song (then again I guess that was expected since I'm a YG stan). I'm looking forward what this group will do in the future though.
hurtmybones 2nd-Aug-2012 12:17 pm (UTC)
eh I was expecting better. the title track could have easily fit into BB's tragic last album.
iznanassi 2nd-Aug-2012 08:04 pm (UTC)
I'm gonna be that person and say their debut seems more impressive than EvoL's, hopefully they don't get overshadowed.
blkjck 3rd-Aug-2012 12:35 am (UTC)
i love this album
pivotandsway 3rd-Aug-2012 02:38 am (UTC)
tbh I was kinda iffy when I first listened to this album but throughout the day and after I slept a little it really grew on me. Wooram is obviously a very gifted songwriter. I didn't really expect them to sound very hip hop but I've been following them for a while now. They're very oriented in r&b and I think their fashion reflects that of a hype beast not necessarily attached to a narrow genre. I think they played to their strengths and interests musically and although they don't have the typical r&b vocal like Bom or Hwayobi, who's to say they shouldn't try? There's room for all types of voices and I like the variety they bring. I can tell they and the others who worked on this album put in a lot of effort and it shows in the quality of the output apart from the really unnecessary breakdown in "Stereo". It's what I didn't realize I wanted, the vaguely YG/r&b girl group sound I forgot I had missed. I'll be spinning this for a while. I've already got "Anniverary" on repeat.
