OMONA, IT'S HAPPENING: LEETEUK TO ENLIST IN OCTOBER (also, other people will enlist lol)

Super Junior’s Leeteuk, 8eight’s Lee Hyun, and Mighty Mouth’s Sangchu‘s enlistment dates have all been finalized and it seems we will have to get ready to say goodbye to the three stars this October.

8eight’s Lee Hyun will be entering first as his enlistment date is on October 8th. Leeteuk and Sangchu will then enter for their basic training for five weeks on October 30th.

All three will be serving as active duty soldiers for 21 months after their basic training.

It was unclear at first if Leeteuk and Sangchu would be serving as active soldiers since they are known to have suffered from injuries. However, due to their strong determination to serve as active duty soldiers, they were eventually admitted despite their injuries.

Now that Leeteuk’s enlistment date has been confirmed for next month, his last recording dates for SBS’ Star King’ and ‘Strong Heart’ will soon be determined by the PD and staff.

Lee Hyun will also be wrapping up just in time before his enlistment with the release of a goodbye single on October 5th, while Sangchu will be putting Mighty Mouth activities on hold for a while.

Slightly sad about Leetuek's enlistment... but the day that Siwon goes? I will cry my weight in tears.

I was thinking about HoMIn's enlistment, too... I presume they'll go together...

WOW, I mean I knew it was obviously going to come, but to actually get a date it's kind of O.O . I don't particularly like Leeteuk, but from what I know it sounds like the guy needs to take a break away from the spotlight and idol life, maybe it will give him time to sort out his issues (it's him that was abused wasn't it ?) and maybe when he gets out all of Omona will have moved on.

Yes, he was abused, and he definitely does need the break. Not that going into the army is actually a break, per say, but some time away from the spotlight might bring him back down to earth, help him de-stress and such.

A whole year after Heechul enlisted, and Leeteuk is actually slightly older than Heechul -_- It's amazing how long he put it off. Makes me wonder if Heechul could have put off his enlistment that long too. Not that I would have necessarily preferred, just kind of curious about which one is more normal for celebrities.

He could have, but he chose to go. He actually surprised both the members and the fans with his announcement about it, because he didn't want to make a big deal of it and he just wanted to get it over with.

Good luck to them all. Not sure about the other two, but this could be a good thing for Leeteuk, a chance for him to come back down to earth, de-stress and get himself in order. Maybe even find a cure for his chronic foot-in-mouth.

And maybe in the meantime people will find someone else to bitch about.

Finally! Wasn't the original plan for Heechul and Leeteuk to enlist together or shortly after the other? Took Leeteuk a whole year to do so. Then again, I don't think SM would want 2 high-profile members to be away from the spotlight at the same time.

Surprising that Leeteuk qualified for active service. His body's probably more banged up than Heechul's.

I'm really nervous about Teuk doing active duty. The last thing he needs to do is stress his body. And I'm not going to be ready for the amount of tears from the members on Teuk's enlistment day. It's going to be so strange seeing Suju without their leader for the next two years.

Aw, so long Teukie-ah. Active service, eh? Hope he doesn't put his back out even more trying to keep up with the young whipper-snappers in his platoon. And how will he back-seat drive Suju from an army base miles away? I had visions of him doing public service by day and then driving everyone nuts by unofficially trying to run the whole show on the back of an envelope at the kitchen table every night. The Sujus will miss him a lot.
