Yongguk receives a letter from his World Vision sponsor child

Background info:

"Yongguk sponsored a child, Mim, through World Vision, an organization that helps alleviate poverty and hunger in many countries worldwide that may be affected by natural disasters or civil conflict, etc."

Dear Bang Yong Kook,

First of all, on behalf of Mim, we send you our earnest love.

She hopes you and your family are doing good. Mim is doing well with her family too.

She was delighted when she received the first letter you sent. For that letter, she wants to thank you. To make you feel happiness too, she is sending you some pictures. When you see them you will feel happy.

She is in elementary school now. When Mim heard that someday you wanted to come visit Bangladesh, she became very happy. She loves to read Bangla books and plays dolls with her baby brother. She hopes that you will send her a letter again.

May God bless you, and your family. She wants to thank you.

“Mim” (in Mim’s handwriting)

tbh I think those fanclubs should sponsor children instead of buying all these idols expensive gifts

This still bothers me...why would anyone need ALL that stuff?

ikr
back when i was hottest i was a member of the 2OD forum and shocked how much money they spent on their birthday gifts. at one point they bought things for like $1,000 iirc. i was like wtf?

You should be surprised how much sones spend on the girls..
goshipgurl 16th-Nov-2012 01:27 pm (UTC)
probably millions of $
in_noctem 16th-Nov-2012 03:24 pm (UTC)
You've piqued my interest. How much do they spend...and on what?
edanz_castle 16th-Nov-2012 02:18 pm (UTC)
Kris's from EXO-M's was worse. Them fangirls bought presents for each year that Kris has lived lol.

you mean he got 20 (or 21? 22?) different presents for his last birthday?
kazu_kumaguro 16th-Nov-2012 06:19 pm (UTC)
god

those money spent of him

totally unnecessary
harmlessbondage 18th-Nov-2012 01:55 am (UTC)
i kept scrolling through it expecting it to end and it just never ended. :|

i mean, i'm not going to hate on gifts, but wouldn't an idol have the means to buy all that shit on their own? wouldn't a more meaningful gift be something fan-made or with otherwise sentimental meaning (like those drawings) rather than just a bunch of expensive things?

i'm jelly, though. i would love a full guitar/bass setup like that lol

edit: that cosmicaa is ONE person? i thought it must've been a fan community that collected money to send that much crazy expensive presents, but it's ONE PERSON?!

A few fanclubs do give some money to charity, but how many Ipads do Soshi need? Fans need to think twice about that kind of thing.
kazu_kumaguro 16th-Nov-2012 06:22 pm (UTC)
I really want one but then I have iPhone and laptop so everyone told me that it's totally unnecessary :'(
then I saw that taemin's gifts and him having iPod nano, touch, classic, iPad (I bet someone has given him), laptop.
yeah totally unnecessary.
edanz_castle 16th-Nov-2012 10:13 pm (UTC)
Why even give Soshi iPads when they can actually "afford" one. I know they ain't broke.
batterydead 16th-Nov-2012 10:21 pm (UTC)
ia. plus most of the gifts are ended up in the trash so donating is so much better imo
