Has K-Pop "Hit" America? Fuse seems to think so.

OMG TommyFebruary6! Lonely in Gorgeous was such a great song~you're taking me back lol. My first J-Pop song was w-inds. "pieces" followed by Ayumi Hamasaki's "appears." My intro to k-pop was big bang's "dirty cash" and battle's "luv u."

....yeah, overshare lol.

girl, these memories

My first exposure to Jpop was through anime - downloading all of my fav songs on Napster, and then seeing Utada Hikaru "First Love." I dl'd it, and have been a fan of hers ever since. L'arc En Ciel, SMAP (lol), Ayumi, Namie Amuro, Gackt...they all soon followed. I haven't been into the Jpop scene for many years, but I still stan Utada like whoah. She can have all of my money from now to forever.

lol right?

omg Napster, you brought it way back. YES!! Utada is flawless! I think "first love" was my first utada song too. "simple and clean," "traveling" "time limit" - you made me p . L'arc En Ciel (HYDE will never not be handsome haha)..Gackt, my goodness. I co-sign all your choices - except for SMAP, I don't think I've ever heard anything by them. Man, the olden days xD. Me either - I pretty much fell out with j-pop after I was introduced to k-pop years ago lol

you're free of flaws 8D

"First Love" was my first Utada song! I still jam to all those old songs pretty frequently. Her earlier stuff was way more R&B, and while I love her newer sounds, those first few albums just cannot quit. "In My Room" is pretty much my go-to chill song.

Don't let my SMAP reference confuse you. I downloaded a lot of their stuff just because I could (Napster...those were the days), but never really got into them. They were too...I dunno, hokey or something. Still had some good songs, though.

But yeah, I couldn't keep up with all the craziness in the Jpop scene. And yet here I am now, stanning for Shinee and Infinite and TVXQ...
