YG Entertainment Bans Cosmetic Surgery on Rookies

YG Entertainment has announced that they have abstained members of their up-and-coming rookie female group from undergoing cosmetic surgery which, is considered an odd move in the Kpop industry.

The reason for this is because many of them are still young and they think it's best to portray them as they are, without being "overly made up". Last week YG released an au naturale picture of rookie member, Kim Ji-Soo, who's yet to make her debut.

They've also recruited a few girls to form a group but according to them, not all of them will "make it" into the group.

it's nice in theory before the company starts berating them for their natural beauty~

banning it is bizarre but at least we know they're not facing pressure to get it.

It's not really an odd move considering how many companies advertise their groups as ~natural beauties~, even if they've had something done.

They'll still have cosmetic procedures, just not undergo surgery.

what is the differences between them if i may ask ? i mean what are concidered as cosmetic procedures and not plastic surgeries ?

so these girls are banned from plastic surgery but still get the verbal abuse of being called 'ugly'

well that might be the only good thing YG has said lately.
it's a good news, in theory, and i'd be glad all the companies to be that way.
Now the thing is, will auditioning for YG become a model audition too now. Meaning they'll only take and give achance to good looking people. If you look common and normal and plain, if you're the average korean girl or boy, you'll stand no chance, whatever your talent. :/ idk.
and, i'm not sure how to take the "on rookies" part. does that mean that once they're no more rookies they'll make them go through plastic surgery, and they're saying this only to not pressure the young ones ? :/
