It is January 26th in Korea, which marks a very special day for the lovely Sun of Wonder Girls.

As you all know, Sun is tying the knot with her fiance James Park, becoming the first member out of the current idol groups to get married!

Sun’s wedding started recently at 12:30 PM KST at the Seoul Lotte Hotel, but ahead of the event, the beautiful bride held a press conference and shared her excitement about the ceremony and her upcoming life as a newlywed.

Let's embrace Sunye's wedding and the pretty pictures !Collapse )

my heart is BURSTING with joy for her. and the people wearing jeans to a wedding. I just.....if there ever was a time to bust out the tasteful below knee or cocktail dresses this would be the time!

Weddings are different in Korea, I suggest watching:

Interest though...guests can come casual, it's common.

WOW. this is SUPER informal! did not even kno that! i never understood why koreans dress so casual to weddings and now i kno why, lol.

i dont kno if i like it! the idea of being rushed out of a hall of my own reception so the next bride can come in?!

i'm too selfish for that shit, lol.

but i think it's really cool they cut the cake with a sword!

she revealed that she planned to “spend it comfortably” when asked about her first honeymoon night coming up.

I wonder who asked, and what is one supposed to say to it ^_^

Ok but SNSD those outfits aren't really appropriate.

This is probably the best thing to happen in kpop in a long time though, she deserves to be happy ;u;

Ok but SNSD those outfits aren't really appropriate.

Actually their outfits are the norm for Korean wedding attire. Not a lot of people here on Omona seem to be familiar with the wedding attire guest wear at Korean weddings. While other cultures have formal wear, Korea is more of a casual wear at weddings. So their outfits are the norm.

I'm so happy for her. She deserves to have a new family of her own <3

How do these wedding work? Do they kind of invite themselves? As long as you're a celeb it's ok?
caramelorchoco 26th-Jan-2013 07:25 pm (UTC)
i'm sure they still send out invites

^_^ May they have a wonderful life together!
I still don't understand the logic behind showing up to a wedding dressed like they do in Korea...

I'm surprised by all the "What are the guests wearing?" comments in every K-wedding posts. I thought by now it would be clear to everyone that they dress casual-chic to these things.

It's just a huge culture shock that cannot be easily reconciled.
