Hyuna’s “from When And Until When”, Composed By Btob’s Hyunsik, Accused Of Plagiarism
Hyuna’s “From When and Until When” off her most recent release has been under speculation of plagiarism.
Hyuna’s song, “From When and Until When” was composed by BTOB’s Hyunsik, and has been accused of plagiarism due to the fact that a set of lyrics from g.o.d’s “Opposite Attraction” are included in the song word for word.
The lyrics “am I attracted because you’re the opposite, because you’re different from me, does that capture me even more, because this is the first time” are exactly the same, word for word, and thus has confused fans of “From When and Until When” of being a plagiarised song.
However on the 28th of July, Hyunsik explained on his personal Twitter, “the song “From When and Until When” is an hommage to g.o.d’s comeback” and expressed that both Hyuna and Hyunsik wanted to show that they were fans of g.o.d.
[netizens]1. [+1,306, -41] It's mine if I don't get caught, it's an hommage if I do get caught ㅋㅋ What a joke
2. [+1,020, -36] If it's an hommage, shouldn't the original lyricsts know? They never mentioned it before or even got permission and now they're calling it an hommage? Do they not know what an hommage is? How is it an hommage if the original producers didn't even know? It's plagiarism if they didn't get permission for it ㅋㅋㅋ A tweet clarifying it won't just make it okay. ㅋㅋㅋ
3. [+907, -29] Should've said hommage to god when the album was released so misunderstandings don't happen.
4. [+104, -2] It wasn't until god fans mentioned it that they said it was an hommage on Twitter. An hommage is an expression of respect, how is that respectful at all? They never mentioned the original singers or what part they're taking as an hommage. Especially in a situation where it's being promoted as being written by Hyuna and Hyunshik-ssi.
5. [+96, -2] Plagiarize first, call it an hommage second. An hommage that even the original singers never heard of... If they were really fans and respected them, they wouldn't have done it in this way.
