Lee Sung Kyung Expresses Love and Respect for Cast of ‘It’s Okay, It’s Love’

Lee Sung Kyung expressed her respect for Kong Hyo Jin.

In a recent interview with Newsen, Lee Sung Kyung named Kong Hyo Jin from SBS’s It’s Okay, It’s Love as her role model, as she praised the actress.

Before mentioning Kong Hyo Jin, Lee Sung Kyung claimed that the entire cast of It’s Okay, It’s Love has unexpected charms.

Lee Sung Kyung said, “Lee Kwang Soo oppa didn’t have the same image as the one from SBS’s Running Man. He was serious in everything he did and was always considerate of those around him. I think he felt more responsible because he acted out a character with Tourette Syndrome, which could be a sensitive role. He told me that he acted with a sense of mission in order to show help heal those suffering from the syndrome, instead of hurting them.”

She continued, “Sung Dong Il sunbae was also different than what I expected. He did not always have the cheerful and fatherly image. The more I got to know him, the more I came to respect him. He was refined and full of love. He never crosses the line when he jokes around with his hubaes. He never made personal attacks. He protects and respects his junior actors. He is really awesome.”

“I also thought that Kong Hyo Jin unnie would be chic and intense but she was actually soft and innocent in character. The nickname of ‘Kong-vely’ didn’t just come from her drama image. Kong Hyo Jin unnie was lovely in real life. She is professional when it comes to work but in other parts of life, she was really innocent. I have a lot to learn from her,” said Lee Sung Kyung.

She said, “My role mode? It’s Kong Hyo Jin unnnie. I fell in love with how she acted at the filming site. Although she was probably really hurt (from the car accident), she never expressed it and endured it until the end. Even though her injury didn’t heal all the way and her stitches could’ve come undone, she endured through it. She put the skin-colored tape over her stiches and acted, as if nothing was wrong. She didn’t even express her pain, because she didn’t want to make the staff members worry. As I watched her, I wanted to become an actress like her.”

About It’s Okay, It’s Love, which allowed her to meet her role model, Lee Sung Kyung shared, “It’s Okay, It’s Love was the biggest luck in my life and happiness, beyond all words. It provided the opportunity for me to grow. Everyone showered me with their generosity. But I, on the other hand, don’t think I was able to return their favors. I feel apologetic. I will grow and become successful so I can make them proud.”

Lee Sung Kyung acted as ‘Oh So Nyeo’ in SBS’s It’s Okay, It’s Love, which ended on September 11. It’s Okay, It’s Love was a healing romance drama about love between best seller writer Jang Jae Yeol (Zo In Sung) and psychiatrist Jee Hae Soo (Kong Hyo Jin).
