Song Mino and Bobby only had good things to say about each other during a recent interview at YG Entertainment.
Speaking about his first impression of Song Mino, Bobby said, “I thought he was really talented, so, out of jealousy, I didn’t like him. But after talking a lot, [we found out we] had a lot in common, and we quickly became close.”
Mino said, “One of my most memorable moments with Bobby is a day we were practicing. At night, we turned off the lights and rapped freestyle and danced with just the light from our phones. Bobby has gotten a lot cooler, both in his looks and just overall.”
Bobby and Song Mino recently released both solo and unit projects. Bobby’s “HOLUP” dropped on September 7, and Song Mino’s “Body” was released on September 8. September 9, the two rappers released “Hit Me” and “Full House” as the unit MOBB.
During a unit interview on September 12 at YG Entertainment, Song Mino talked about how BIGBANG’s G-Dragon helped him and Bobby.
He said, “G-Dragon listened to our songs and gave us feedback. Using GD&TOP as an example, he told us that it’s important how Bobby and I build our chemistry throughout the songs. [He talked about] how, looking at the big picture of the song, we needed to work out together what parts to emphasize and where to take it easy. We were so thankful for his advice, and it was a lot of help.”
On their chemistry as a unit, Bobby said, “We’re really close. There is a goal that we’re both working towards, so we have a great sense of teamwork.”
In a recent interview conducted on September 12, WINNER’s Song Mino and iKON’s Bobby sat down as their project unit MOBB and dished about the pandemonium that is “Show Me the Money.”
Song Mino explains, “When we appeared on the show, it was almost like a battlefield. However, when we watched it solely as viewers, it was definitely fun.” The rapper previously tried out for season four, coming in second place, while Bobby auditioned for and subsequently won season three.
He also comments, “BewhY auditioned last season alongside myself, but he came out again after improving his skills,” and Bobby reveals that he personally was rooting for C Jamm.
Bobby and Song Mino each released their own solo tracks on September 7 and 8 respectively, before dropping two duet tracks on September 9.
What were some of your favorite performances from these two on “Show Me the Money”?
Although iKON’s Bobby and WINNER’s Song Mino are busy with their solo and unit releases, they recently took the time to weigh in on the success of their labelmates, BLACKPINK.
“The fact that BLACKPINK is doing well really deserves a thumbs up,” Bobby said.
Song Mino added, “They trained for so long. We’ve watched their progress through their trainee years and we’re glad that they’re doing well.” Bobby then yelled, “Thumbs up!” and made everyone laugh.
He continued, “There are members who trained even longer than we did, so when we heard that they were debuting, we were happy. It’s really good that they’re doing well.”
Bobby and Song Mino are currently promoting “Hit Me” and “Full House” as part of the unit MOBB and “HOLUP” and “Body” individually.
