Super Junior’s Leeteuk and Heechul will be hosting Inkigayo this coming Sunday on the 31st.
The two have been chosen to be the MCs for the Vancouver Olympics Inkigayo special.
The original MCs right now are 2PM’s Wooyoung and Taecyeon but they will hand over their spots for this episode.
I do feel that Wooyoung and Taecyeon can get a little awkward while hosting the show, so I’m happy to see these experienced boys take over. If they’re switching around the MC’s, I’m sure there are some special stages we can look forward to as well.

SBS is a couple weeks from airing its new Wednesday-Thursday drama OB-GYN [산부인과 여의사], starring Jang Seo-hee, the recent Daesang winner for her role in Wife’s Temptation.
I hadn’t even known that Song Joong-ki was cast in this, which is news that has me conflicted; I love him and find him adorable, but I have no great desire to watch this drama, which takes the timeslot over from Will It Snow For Christmas against Chuno and The Woman Who Still Wants to Marry. He takes a supporting role here as a second-year resident.
Jang Seo-hee plays a talented ob-gyn (obstetrics and gynecology doctor); she has a romantic plotline with two younger men: one is her friend, played by Seo Ji-seok (Pure 19), and the other is a pediatrician at the same hospital, played by Go Ju-won (Infamous Chil Princesses).
Song Joong-ki’s character shows a different personality than he’s shown previously. For instance, compared to the calm, mature “Ji-yong” role in Will It Snow For Christmas, which gets him regularly recognized now, his OB-GYN character is scatterbrained: “Actually, Kyung-woo [in OB/GYN] is more similar to my real personality than Ji-yong was.”
Directing is PD Lee Hyun-jik of SBS dramas Tazza and Lobbyist, and writing is Choi Hee-ra, who appears to have no former credits. (So… I’m not exactly hopping up and down in excitement.) OB-GYN premieres on February 3.

f(x)'s Sulli is a new SBS MC.
Sulli (name Choi Jinri) will replace Ha Yeon Joo as the new female MC on February 7th, joining 2PM's Wooyoung and Taecyeon.
An "Inkigayo" publicist talked with Newsen and said, "Sulli has a bright, cheerful personality so she will fit well with 'Inkigayo.'"
"She worked as a child actor so we know she'll do well and we highly anticipate her as an MC. We know she will accomplish a lot," he continued. Sulli had been in the drama "The Ballad of Seo Dong" as Lee Bo Young's child character.
A SM Entertainment publicist said "Sulli got an offer from 'Inkigayo' to be an MC" and confirmed this news.
On another note, the January 31st "Inkigayo" will be a Vancouver Olympic special and will feature Super Junior's Leeteuk, Heechul, and Shindong as guest MCs.

SNSD has once again demonstrated that they are the best selling Korean girl group at the moment, after going over the 100k album sales mark for the third consecutive time.
After only a month of release on 29th June, the 9 member girl group has managed to rake up an impressive sales volume of 100,497 copies sold for their second mini-album, Tell Me Your Wish (Genie). And it’s still going strong.
This is their third time achieving this following their 1st album, Girls’ Generation and 1st mini-album Gee, and is a pretty phenomenal record considering that girl groups usually don’t do that well and even more remarkable with the industry in a slump.
Apparently Oh! got 150k in preorders. XD
Real Cotton Candy to be given away during Big Bang's Big Show
Daesung will be performing his latest single, 'Cotton Candy', during Big Bang's concert on January 29, 30 and 31. As a special treat to the audience, there will be 10 cotton candy machines which will distribute 5,000 cotton candies for each day. This means that a total of 15,000 cotton candies will be given away during the 3-day concert.
Daesung's Cotton Candy has been receiving so much love when it was released last January 26 as it went up to 1st place in music charts (Naver Music, Daum and Bugs).
A YG representative said, "Cotton Candy has a different style compared to previous Big Bang songs so we weren't expecting this much. During the concert, we will be giving away real cotton candy so we hope you enjoy."
Daesung, who is also known to be good at singing Trot, surprised everyone with this transformation of going into jazz-pop style.

Korean idol group MBLAQ's popularity in Japan and Korea has been on the rise since their performance at Rain's Osaka concert over the weekend, according to a press release by their agency on Wednesday.
The quintet's opening performance at the "Legend of Rainism" tour on January 23 and 24 caught the attention of major record company executives in Japan, J. Tune Camp said in the statement.
"We are discussing the [contract] terms in detail with several companies," an official at J. Tune was quoted as saying. "We will work out the best possible terms and prepare their Japanese debut step by step."
Their increasing popularity appears to have carried over to Korea as well; the group has been racking up album sales in Korea, according to estimates released today by Hanteo Chart -- which uses a sampling method to predict online and offline record sales in the country.
For the week of January 19 thru 25, the group's first single "Just Blaq" sold 2,267 copies, ranking third in weekly album sales behind boy bands TVXQ and CNBLUE. The feat may be regarded as unusual, considering it was released three months ago and the group is currently on a break, preparing to come out with a new single.
MBLAQ -- which stands for "Music Boys Live in Absolute Quality" -- was created and trained by Asian superstar Rain for two years. They debuted in October 2009 as the first group that Rain introduced to the public since he turned producer.

2PM fan union will be holding a large scale demonstration coming 31st January in Seoul JongRo regarding JaeBum withdrawing from 2PM.
The fan union wrote on their fan cafe on 28th January, “On 31st January from 1pm, we will be doing a nationalwide demonstration for JaeBum. For Seoul, the venue is in front of JongRo 2 BoShinGak. I know that (reporters) may be busy, but please do do reports on it. Thank you. -HOTTEST-”
Recently, there has been speculations about JaeBum’s permanent withdrawal from 2PM amongst the fans, and the fan cafe has also clearly expressed their stand that they are against it. And some fans also drew associations from WonderGirls SunMi’s case and are worried about JaeBum’s status in the group.
Even though JYP had gone on national broadcast earlier and stated that “JaeBum will comeback”, there has been much worry and uneasiness from fans.
Also, even after 2PM has ended their 6-member activities, they have not been any confirmed plans about JaeBum, and fans are feeling uneasy about it.
Recently there has also been rumours, which was later said to be false by JYP representatives, that the company will come out to talk about future plans for JaeBum.Source: TV Daily

Local entertainment group Wellmade STARM sued Rain and his agency JYP Entertainment in March last year for 4.57 billion won (3.95 million dollars) in damages.
The group, which financed Rain's US tour in 2006-2007, claimed he breached a contract with it by failing to perform 16 concerts.
Judge Bae Kwang-Kuk said in his ruling, quoted by Yonhap news agency, that poor preparations by US promoters led to Rain's aborted concerts.

After releasing their first single Jiggy, rookie boy group F.cuz has been gaining a lot of popularity from their oversea fans from places such as USA, China, Taiwan and Thailand.
How much popularity? Well, the fans have uploaded videos of themselves dancing to the “Jiggy Dance” as well as singing the song through YouTube. They even got a nickname for the genre of Jiggy, categorizing it as a “Bubble Gum Pop.”
The oversea fans have commented things like “Korean songs are so good,” “Singing and dancing to F.cuz’s song is so fun and it makes me happy” and “I want to visit Korea to see F.cuz.”
Related sources from F.cuz’s public relations company The J Story stated:
I think the fans oversea who are into K-pop likes Jiggy because it has a repetitive chorus as well as choregraphy just like Wonder Girls‘ Tell Me and Nobody.
We never thought that there would be so many oversea fans who likes Jiggy.
We are very thankful to them for even giving nicknames to Jiggy’s choregraphy and genre.
First it was “model idol” and now its “Bubble Gum Pop” and “Jiggy Dance!” F.cuz’s future seems bright, don’t you agree?
T-ara’s Soyeon showed signs of swine flu so she stopped filming on the set of God of Study and headed for the hospital.
The members of T-ara are set to make another cameo on the drama where one of the members, Jiyeon, has a role.
T-ara’s company said, “Soyeon, with T-ara, headed to the set of God of Study to film their cameo appearance. But then, Soyeon got a high fever and threw up on set. We stopped filming for her and took her to a nearby hospital. The hospital thought she might have swine flu so they gave her medicine and tested her. The results will be out on the morning of the 29th. After finding out about Soyeon’s status, we will decide T-ara’s “Like the First Time” promotion schedule.”
Let’s hope it’s not swine flu.
Looks like there will be yet another new boy band to hit the k-pop scene!

On January 27th, the boys of U-Kiss released a new single in digital form titled Without You. Contrary to previous reports it seems that Without You won’t be their title track. There’s word that the second track titled 빙글빙글 (Round and Round) from their upcoming full length album will be the title track.
Eli, one of the members of U-Kiss participated on DJ Isak’s Mid-Day Break Radio Program. He revealed that the filming for their new MV (presumably 빙글빙글 / Round and Round) will begin on the 29th. Eli also revealed that they will film the MV topless (like their album cover depicts). Eli also stated that their comeback stage will occur next week but didn’t mention the exact music show or date. My prediction is KBS Music Bank on February 5th.
A reminder that their physical and first full length album titled “Only One” will be in stores on February 3rd.
SNSD's Yuri has recently wounded her leg.
During the filming of KBS 2TV 'Invincible Youth' on the 27th, Yuri abraded her leg. While recording a scene of Yuri running to fly her kite, she fell and wounded her leg. Fortunately, the abrasion of Yuri's leg was not too serious and will not conflict Yuri's regular schedule in participating SNSD's comeback performance on MBC 'Show! Music Core' on the 30th.
Through a phone conversation, an SM Entertainment representative commented, Yuri abraded her leg while filming for 'Invincible Youth'. After making a visit to the hospital, the results showed no serious damage on her bone and will not prevent her from performing on stage.
[Last paragraph omitted as it speaks about the new album being a huge success. However, they did mention that more than 250,000 copies of the album was sold in one day

The 29th single of Korean dance-vocal group Tohoshinki, "BREAK OUT!", sold an approximately 170,000 copies on its first day, and ranked first on Oricon's daily chart on 1/26. While being in the middle of break-up turmoils, this is a good start that is probably going earn them first place on Oricon weekly chart for the 7th time.
The title song "BREAK OUT!", which contains encouraging messages to young people who are trying their best, is the theme song for NHK's drama "Tomehane! Suzuri Koukou Shodoubu". The coupling song is Junsu's solo "XIAHTIC".
Tohoshinki released their single "HUG" in November 2004 to mark their first time coming to Japan, and officially debuted in Japan in April 2005 with their single "Stay With Me Tonight". They first entered the Oricon weekly chart with their 7th single "Sky" (on sale in August 2006), which ranked 6th of that week. They have constantly been on the top 10 of the chart since then. Starting from their 18th single "Purple Line" (on sale in January 2008), they've had 6 singles that rank first on Oricon weekly chart, and are currently holding the record for being the only foreign artist to acquire that achievement.
They are planning to release their first best album "BEST SELECTION 2010" on 2/17.

JYP Entertainment has just released a statement that a 6 member Wonder Girls including Sunmi is definitely ok!
JYP Entertainment stated:
“We did not expect Sunmi to withdraw from the group and all of our commitments stated that the Wonder Girls are a 5 member group. Furthermore, the parties that we had commitments with all showed disapproval to a 4 member Wonder Girls. We had discussions with the 4 members, who all agreed to Hae Lim joining, which is why the decision was made.”
In addition, JYP Entertainment stated:
“Although there is an issue with the Wonder Girls becoming a 4 member group after Sunmi’s decision to leave, later on, if Sunmi wishes to return as a member of the Wonder Girls, there are no issues with the group gaining an additional member. If Sunmi wishes to return later on, we will respect her decision as well as the other members’ decisions and follow.”
This should’ve put the Wonderfuls at ease, as it is great news, however they responded with:
“We cannot agree to this statement that 4 members are an issue but 6 members aren’t.”
Isn’t this good news? When will fans ever be pleased?
“Brilliant Legacy,” is sentimental love story, stars Lee Seung-gi as a wealthy socialite and Han Hyo-ju as the commoner girl whom he comes to adore.
The Korean Wave has already washed over large swaths of Asia, but one local state-sponsored non-profit company has adopted a new approach to keep the waters rising.
The Korean Foundation for International Culture Exchange announced it has acquired a limited international license for “Brilliant Legacy,” a television drama that gained ratings of over 40 percent when it aired on SBS here, and will give away broadcasting rights for free in 81 overseas countries as a way of boosting Korean popular culture.

Kim Bum plays an indie-band musician in his new drama, MBC’s The Woman Who Still Wants To Marry, and he shows off some of his own guitar-playing skills in this week’s two episodes, to air on the 27th and 28th. The scene was shot on the 23rd in a Hongdae club; Kim performed live, singing and playing guitar with the band.
In addition, he will contribute a track to the drama’s OST called “The Woman Who Cut My Guitar Cord” (which, if you’ve watched the first episode, you’ll know refers to Park Jin-hee’s character; she cut his cord out of frustration in their first encounter when he refused to stop playing per her request). The song was released via online services today, the 27th.
