Taeyeon and Wooyoung leaving WinWin

2PM's Wooyoung and SNSD's Taeyeon will leave the MC position of KBS 2TV's 'WinWin'. The exact date of their leave is undecided.

One of the broadcasting staff stated on the 28th, "Wooyoung and Taeyeon will leave soon, and we are currently looking for their replacements."

Wooyoung will be leaving due to 2PM's busy schedule, and Taeyeon due to SNSD's Japanese promotions.

Wooyoung and Taeyeon were part of the original members of 'WinWin' which first aired in February, and led the program with main MC's Kim Seungwoo, Choi Hwajung, and Kim Shinyoung. Wooyoung exceeded the expectations as an entertainment idol with his witty comments, and Taeyeon, who had prior experiences of positions like radio DJ, took part in the big popularity of 'WinWin' with her smooth MCing.

Song Hye-gyo eyes new movie project

Song Hye-gyo is looking at new acting projects, and may have settled on her next role: a film with respected director Lee Jung-hyang, who hasn’t directed a film since her well-regarded The Way Home eight years ago.

According to reports, Song is very close to settling on this project, although for now the casting is not finalized. She has agreed to take the role but is working out her schedule with producers. Apparently Song looked favorably at the project from its early stages and was an admirer of director Lee’s delicate touch, and had waited for the screenplay to be finished.

The project doesn’t have a title yet, but the plot deals with a PD at a broadcast station (Song’s character) who loses her fiancé in a hit and run accident. The film follows the conflict and growth she undergoes in the aftermath. Another key role is of a girl in her late teens, whose casting should attract a lot of interest.

If she signs on, this would be her first Korean movie in four years (since 2006′s Hwang Jini), while her last drama was 2008′s The World They Live In. She has, however, taken on a non-Korean film project in the interim, Wong Kar-wai’s The Grand Master, which is still in production. Song is currently in China for filming, but will wrap her shoots shortly.

Gina almost debuted as the 2nd Park Jiyoon

It was revealed that Five Girl's last runner Gina (real name Gina Choi) prepared her debut as the 2nd Park Jiyoon.

In a recent interview with eDailySPN, Gina revealed, "Once the debut of Five Girls was cancelled, I returned back to Canada, but I couldn't give up my dream of becoming a singer. So, I did an audition in Korea again and I went into JYP Entertainment."

Gina was born in Canada and she spent her childhood there. Because she wanted to become a singer, she came to Korea in 2005 when she was about 18 years old, and she did an audition to get into the group Five Girls (which is now called the 'misfortunate' group today). After she passed the auditions, she waited for a year as she prepared her debut during her trainee life, but due to agency problems, her debut was cancelled and her team was disbanded. As a result, Gina was heartbroken and she returned to Canada.

But, she didn't easily give up her dream. Once she returned to Canada, she only thought about becoming a singer. During the time of the auditions for Five Girls, Hong Seungsung of JYP Entertainment (but who is now the representative for CUBE Entertainment today) gave Gina another chance of an audition and she was able to come into JYP Entertainment in November 2007.

Gina said, "In the beginning, I received my training in New York under JYP, but I came back to Korea in May (2008) to practice. Since then, I prepared my debut as the 2nd Park Jiyoon. Because there wasn't a female solo singer with outstanding singing and dancing ability like Park Jiyoon sunbaenim did, I wanted to become a female singer with outstanding singing and dancing ability [just like her]."

Since Gina's trainee days, she received attention with her skinny appearance and her nickname was 'promising seed'  because of her excellent singing ability.

Later, when representative Hong Seungsung came out of JYP Entertainment and set up CUBE Entertainment, Gina followed right behind him. In the end of 2008, Gina spent a year and a half preparing for her solo debut, and the results came in on the 14th.

Gina showed her strong-will by saying, "When I think about the past, it was a great opportunity for me to become stronger even with all those tragic periods. From now on, I know that the path I'm taking is dangerous, but I will work hard."

On the 15th, Gina had her debut performance and her title song 'I'll Back Off So You Can Live' is gaining popularity on various music charts with high rankings.

Growing Number Of Young Women In South Korea Avoid Marriage

SEOUL, July 28 (Bernama) -- A growing number of South Korean women in their late twenties, considered as the ideal age for marriage, are reluctant to tie the knot, said China's Xinhua news agency citing a report by the Korea Institute for Health and Social Affairs (KIHSA) revealed on Wednesday.

The unmarried rate among women aged between 25 and 29 surged to 59.1 percent in 2005 from 11.8 percent in 1975, the report said.

With the drastic growth in the number of single women in their late twenties, two out of three women hit their thirties without a spouse, it said.

Changed attitudes toward marriage are also apparent even among married women. Only 14 percent of married women saw marriage as necessary, according to the report.

The report said that 59.4 percent of singles, including both men and women, said they are not getting married because of value-related reasons, such as self-development and the pursuit of further education. Economic problems, with 31.9 percent, are the second most common reason for remaining unmarried.

South Korea in recent years has been grappling with the low birth rate. "Marriage-friendly policies along with reducing the age for first marriage should be devised," Byun Yong-chan, researcher at the KIHSA was quoted by local media as saying.

Meanwhile, South Korea has participated in the United States-led war on terrorism in Afghanistan to deny al-Qaida sanctuaries overseas by dispatching troops and a non-military workforce to help post-war reconstruction there since 2002, despite multiple warnings from the Taliban.

Idol Groups Only Have a Few Words in Solo Parts as Number of Members Increase

Seven groups' solo time measured
Even with just four seconds of singing, a singer nonetheless?
Average 16 seconds per person, less than one-tenth of a song.
Cases of no solo part, only repeating the refrain
Parading looks-stage presence, mass-producing "goldfish singers".

"The Beauty of Four Seconds."

This is the snarky label from the Internet for Heechul, member of an idol group Super Junior who only has four seconds of solo singing time in "Sorry Sorry," the title song for the group's third album. Together, there are 13 members of Super Junior who sang this song. Since all 13 divide up a single song, each member can call himself a "singer" after singing for only four seconds.

Lately there are increasing cases in which solo parts of a song last no more than a few seconds, as the number of members in the idol groups such as Super Junior, Girl's Generation and After School increase. This is contributing to the pop culture in which those who rely on looks or conversation skills are considered "singers" regardless of their singing abilities.

After SHINee’s Minho injured his leg during the filming of KBS’s Let’s Go Dream Team 2,  it was revealed that Minho would still be performing for SHINee’s comeback performances but not dancing due to his injury.

Well, it seems like it’ll be the same again this week.

Through a phone call with OSEN, a representative from SHINee’s agency SM Entertainment stated:

It hasn’t been confirmed yet, but it seems like Minho, who’s condition has improved, will not be dancing again this week. Although dancing during the performance is important, Minho’s health is even more important so we are being very cautious.

Infinite's Sunggyu and Woohyun on Mnet Scandal

It looks like we have another scandal on our hands. Well, an MNET Scandal, that is!

It has recently been announced that Sunggyu and Woohyun of rookie group Infinite will appear on the upcoming episode. If you aren’t familiar with this show, the show essentially centers around a blind date between a celebrity and an average Joe, or in this case, a Jane.

Previously on the show, two celebrities have battled it out to win over one girl’s heart. However this time around, the producers of the show decided to try something different and double-cast the average girlfriends instead. Because of this new format, the upcoming episode is attracting a lot of attention from fans.

In this upcoming episode, both Sunggyu and Woohyun, along with their girlfriends, go on an island date. In preparation for this date, Woohyun skipped breakfast to make his girlfriend a sandwich while Sunggyu teased him, although he himself did not pack anything. In addition, this episode will show other situations in which the two fight over the girls, but do keep in mind that it’s all for entertainment.

In regards to the show, Woohyun stated, “Since I haven’t had a girlfriend since my trainee days, I feel very nervous…Girlfriends are like vitamins. When times get hard, they give you a lot of strength so they are good.” That’s some good logic!

Are you excited for this episode? Make sure you catch it when it airs on the 28th!

The Flawless Kim Shin Young sings "Bad Girl, Good Girl"

On July 27th’s radio broadcast of KBS FM Narsha’s Raise the Volume, gag women Kim Shin Young sang a special stage of miss A’s Bad Girl Good Girl to celebrate the show’s 100th day anniversary.
At the beginning of Kim Shin Young’s performance, she seemed pretty confident singing the song. But as the song progressed, she was starting to run out of breath. It seemed like the song, sang by four members of miss A, was a bit too hard to sing herself.
Although Kim Shin Young struggled at singing the song perfectly, she still bursted laughters from the guests as she even danced a bit to the choreography of Bad Girl Good Girl.
At the end of her performance, she even showcased miss A’s leg splitting choreography as she received an applause from the guests.

After she finished her performance, Kim Shin Young commented, “I think you need at least two people to sing this song.

Boram's confession from the heart

T-ara's Boram answers everyone's question about being the new leader in a recent interview.

Boram stated in a recent interview with T-News, "It's a very big position to fill," she said. "I have to take more responsibility and I've gotten an increased part in T-ara. I think, 'should I should push some of the members harder?' Those are the things I have to think about now," she told us.

Following, "Recently, the new member Ryu Hwayoung moved into our living quarters. We've already become friends and we need to prepare for things as a reborn group now. I care a lot for her," she said.

"It's a bit of a burden taking the leader position, but I will show you that T-ara can work harder and it encouraged me to get in better shape," she said smiling.

T-ara recently gained a new member making T-ara seven members, Ryu Hwayoung, who appeared on SBS 'Star King' with her twin sister, Ryu Hyoyoung. T-ara will be making a comeback with a new album in September or October.

'Death Bell 2,' "astonishing opening day profits"

"Death Bell 2", starring T-ara's Jiyeon, Yoon Si Yoon, Kim Suro, Hwang Jeong Eum had nearly every screening sold out on it's opening day (July 28th).

The publisher (of the movie) said, "the main theater in Seoul was sold out and had explosive popularity. Most of the other theaters were either sold out, or around 90-95% full," he said.

At the Mokdong theater, fans were greeted by Hwang Jeong Eum, Yoon Si Yoon, Park Eun Bin, Ji Chang Wook and Choi Ah Jin who attended the screenings.

The directors, T-ara's Jiyeon and the rest of T-ara (Qri, Soyeon, Boram, Eunjung, Hyomin), Kim Suro, Nam Bo Ra and Son Ho Jun all also attended a different screening.

"Death Bell" was originally released in 2008 and was seen by a nationwide audience of 1.7 million people. Rarely can a horror movie be this successful, resulting in the sequel story.

On the morning of the 28th, an official for the movie said, "Released today at 10 A.M, we had an audience of over 50,000 people see the movie," she said, "it was 4 times as much as we expected on the opening day."

Theaters have already sold out in advance for the rest of July. Promotional posters were distributed across theaters early in July and created a big sensation.

Recently a hot topic on the internet was the bikini scene in the movie with the cast members' luxurious bodies.

"Death Bell 2" was chosen by netizens as the most anticipated film of the summer among 26 other movies coming out this summer.
