5dolls feels "inconvenienced" by T-ara's help

The 5 member girl group ’5Dolls’ while being thankful to T-ara for their joint stage appearance, have revealed that they had an inconvenient/sad/lack-lustre experience.
The group revealed this information in a recent interview with Joy News 24.

T-ara, being in the same agency as 5Dolls, succeeded their performance ‘너 말이야’ (Your Words), gaining attention for the joint event.
5Dolls, being a girl group in the same agency have been compared with T-ara ever since their debut.

To this topic, 5Dolls replied “In reality, T-ara are our competitors. When we go up stage they advise us how to look good on camera, how to make the appropriate gestures – they teach us alot” whilst saying “Even this collaboration was due to the T-ara seniors saying ‘How would it be to do a special stage’”

Following, 5Dolls said “It's our song, but because we are amateurs and greedy, we’re thankful that the T-ara seniors came up with us – there was a good reaction” Continuing with their statement “It feels like we’re losing a chance to stand up for ourselves and so that’s why we feel inconvenienced/sad

5Dolls said “It’s our debut single, we should have shown our own personality, so I’m sad. I’m truthfully a bit sad. It seems that we’ll have to put our name out to the public more

Continuing, “I wonder what it would be like to stand up on T-ara’s stage. If T-ara puts out an album, I hope there will be a day when we are able to pay back the favor

5Dolls are actively debuting with their debut single ‘Your Words’. 5Doll’s said, “While it looks like we’ve gotten some recognition, our chart expectations are still lacking. We need to work harder” – following – “This years goal is the 신인상 (amateur/rookie awards). We believe that if we recieve the award that we couldn’t receive whilst in CO-ED, our feelings will be renewed. We will try our best to get a good result for our activities

Beast's Japan Performances Cancelled

After holding an emergency meeting with Cube Entertainment on March 14th, Universal Japan has announced through their official homepage that B2ST will be debuting in Japan as scheduled, but all performances will be canceled for the time being.

On March 15th, representatives of Cube revealed, “We expected the album release to be canceled, but after a meeting with Universal Japan on the 14th, we decided that it’d be difficult for the album release to be postponed any further. Japan usually releases the albums onto the market a few days before the official release date, and B2ST’s albums were already in stores by the 11th, so we could not cancel it.”

They continued, “We can’t do anything about the release, but all performances scheduled, such as the first stage of ‘Shock‘ this weekend at the Universal Japan Studios, has been canceled.”

Other entertainment agencies are also finding difficulties in canceling pre-scheduled promotions and releases. One representative stated, “After talking with our Japanese agencies, we’re having trouble canceling most of the schedules right now.”

B2Y to return with none of the original members+all new members male

Four member mixed gender group B2Y will be returning with a new image as a male group soon.

According to their agency, To Be Continue Group, B2Y will be putting forth a more luxurious image that focuses on their vocals, and are scheduled to return by the first half of this year. The group is a project group from three different entertainment agencies.

Former member Han Yeon, who made an acting debut as Yoo Hee’s brother last year through “Sungkyunkwan Scandal,” will be leaving the group in order to further pursue acting, and Jinwoong is joining the army in March.

The two female members, Seoyeon and Nara, were thrown out by their agency and are currently undergoing a lawsuit. One representative revealed, “Recently, there has been rumors regarding the group’s disbandment, but those are not true. We are changing out the members and starting the group anew. They will be promoting by the first half of the year with an impressive new vocal line. The boys are preparing for their debut with strict rehearsals.”

He continued, “B2Y’s former members, Seoyeon and Nara, have done something that no longer allows them to be a part of the company and are being sued. Out of the two, Nara especially has done something extremely scandalous that can never earn her forgiveness as a female singer. We had no option but to throw her out of the agency.”

This is old news but I was curious about the situation with this group and this is ridiculous. imo, if they're switching out all the members and all the new members are male I don't see the point of keeping the name B2Y -.-; And I'd still like to know what's up with the two girls. They were really good singers T^T

Idols in musicals: strong ticket sales, but lack skills

With so many idols in the market dominating the music scene, many idols have expanded their horizons and have taken places in the musical industry. Idols have typically shown great ticket sales power, and over 20 idols have gone into musicals. However, while idols may be able to produce great ticket sales when they star in the musical, not all idols have necessarily been praised for their work.

As they land major roles in musicals, idols undergo close scrutiny from musical critics. Many critics have not been wholly impressed and have not highly praised the idols who came to be musical actors. There has been debate over the idols getting large roles in musicals despite their lack of proven skill. In the last month till March 13th, Kukinews had 11 musical critics and producers assess "musical idols" on their skills in a survey. The grading criteria would be based upon four main categories: singing, acting, marketability, and growing potential. Within each category, two names would be chosen, and the one that came in first would be given three points, and the second two points.

SECRET & Heechul respond to accusations of ’self-plagiarism’

On March 9th, SECRET’s Sunhwa and Song Ji Eun guested on MBC’s “Radio Star” and addressed accusations claiming that “Madonna” was a carbon copy of “Magic“.

The girls performed “Magic” and “Madonna” in a hit track battle against SISTAR. Afterwards, they were asked by the MCs,“Aren’t they both the same song? Even the choreography is the same. What exactly is different about them?”

Sunhwa explained, “Both songs are the works of the same composer. The choreography is also the same.” When asked by MC Kim Gura about whether she was embarrassed at all by the similarities, Sunhwa replied, “Not at all. We thought of it as our own unique color, so we were very proud.”

The talk of ’self plagiarism’ then shifted attention over to MC Super Junior’s Kim Heechul. The idol MC was asked about the similarities between “Sorry Sorry” and “Bonamana,” to which he confessed, “Both tracks were composed by Yoo Young Jin. ’Sorry Sorry’ was #1 on the Taiwanese charts for 38 weeks in a row, so ‘Bonamana’ was like an extension of ‘Sorry Sorry.’”

Since MC Yoon Jong Shin is also a composer, he was asked to share his thoughts on the issue. “It’s their own song so it shouldn’t be a problem. I do think that they consciously composed it like that since the previous track had done so well.”

All 6 members of 2PM can now sleep with their legs stretched out. 2PM has recently rented and moved into a big villa which is located in the neighborhood of their agency’s Cheongdam-dong office.

The villa has 6 rooms arranged over 2 floors and 6 members each paid equal amount of deposit money for the lease of the place.

Until now 2PM lived in a 3-room apartment provided by their agency. They all lodged together for the convenience of training and schedule. However, now they don’t need to live together anymore and, since each of them has earned some money, they can all consider moving into a house or a separate apartment. In spite of that, 2PM members say, “We would hate being separated from the members we became attached to,” – so after emptying their pockets and getting the place they continue to lodge all together.

[NEWS] YG Entertainment to donate $500,000 USD to aid in Japanese relief effort (2011/03/15)

On March 15th, YG Entertainment announced that they’ll be donating $500,000 USD to the relief efforts in Japan.

A representative of YG Entertainment spoke with OSEN and revealed, “We are still discussing which organization to donate to. Funds for the campaign donations were taken from album sales, and a lot of Japanese fans have taken part in the campaign throughout the years. This donation will be made to give back that support the Japanese fans have shown us.”

They continued, “Campaign donations were always made at the year-end, but due to the sudden disaster in Japan, we’ve decided to go ahead and run the campaign earlier this year to aid in the relief efforts.  We’re all extremely upset with the natural disasters affecting the nation.”

Other stars who have publicly donated relief funds include Bae Yong Joon, Ryu Shi Won, Choi Ji Woo, Kim Hyun Joong, Jang Geun Suk, Lee Byung Hun, Song Seung Hun and KARA.

Lee versus Lee: A phoney war in Seoul

They're at it again. The two most powerful men in South Korea are at daggers drawn. No, I mustn't exaggerate. But we are witnessing an unexpected and rather undignified hissy fit.

"In the left corner ..." That boxing metaphor won't do. Politically, both Lee Myung-bak and Lee Kun-hee are very much in the Right corner. But neither is boxing clever at the moment.

I don't have to tell you who they are, do I? Nor that these Lees are unrelated. Korea is almost as full of Lees as it is of Kims. Some of the Lees spell it differently, like South Korea's first president, Syngman Rhee. Yet both L and R mislead: the name is actually pronounced as Yi.

Jay Park explains his abrupt departure

K-pop icon cites mistake, bad publicity, private blunder and ‘more’

K-pop singer and b-boy Park Jae-beom at the studio shooting his upcoming music video “Abandoned” in Gyeonggi province.

Many reasons have been suggested as to why he bolted from 2PM in his heyday, including “bad online publicity” and a “private blunder.” Now the K-pop singer and b-boy, Park Jae-beom, has finally spoken up.

In an exclusive interview with The Korea Herald, he said his abrupt departure was not caused by one reason alone. “There is more to it than the story people know,” he said during his shoot for the upcoming music video “Abandoned” at a studio in Gyeonggi province.

The former 2PM leader, 23, left Korea in September 2009 after leaving the group amid a quarrel that erupted over his criticism of Korea, which he posted on his personal MySpace account four years prior to their debut.

Don't let Kim be misunderstood

Sohn Kwang-joo, author of The Anatomy of Kim Jong-il, starts his book by saying: "Why should we know Kim Jong-il?"

In South Korea, that's a somewhat odd question, because most South Koreans think they know the North Korea leader well enough. South Korean media outlets constantly have reports on the size of the Dear Leader's libido or his appetite for luxury goods.

For Sohn, all of this touches only the surface, providing a superficial grasp of Kim that also fails to give hints on some of the most important questions surrounding his country. Is there a possibility of a "Jasmine" revolution in North Korea under Kim? Will Kim ever give up his nuclear weapons, and will he ever consider carrying out Chinese-style "reform and opening-up"?

I'm really interested in what's gonna happen in these companies' plans to take over Japan with SNSD and KARA etc. Economies tend to rebound after a big natural disaster, but for the next several months - especially with the nuclear plant and tremors still happening - plans are gonna be messed up. I'd assume a lot of long-term plans could be majorly pushed back until even next year.

Gay filmmaker Kim Jho Kwang-soo announces his marriage to a younger man

Kim Jho Kwang-soo (46) made an announcement to marry a 19 years younger male and has been an issue.

Announcing his marriage on the 15th, he also determined to get his marriage recognized by law. Not a transgender, he is the second to come out of the closet besides Hong Seok-cheon in the entertainment industry and is well known as an earnest and progressive filmmaker.

He is a middle aged movie maker who established movie company Cheong Nyon Films and started being active in the mid 1990s.

Unique and mellow movie "Wanee and Junah" with top star Kim Hee-seon and rookie Joo Jin-mo was the movie that gave him the lift to fame.

This movie didn't succeed greatly but it was overwhelming in issue and was acknowledged as skilled for having cast Kim Hee-seon.

He didn't come out of the closet then but it was widely known that he was gay among movie makers. His intentions seemed definite when he kept bringing in gay police officers in the movie "Wanee and Junah".

He chased two hares at once as the recently produced "Detective K" gathered great success.
