Discharged from military service in October last year, Shinhwa member Eric will return to the music scene with a mini-album in the 2nd half of this year.
Eric’s management company Top Class Entertainment told Star News on 15th April, “Eric is slated to release his mini-album in the 2nd half of this year. This album will be of high quality and in order to showcase this, we are now making thorough preparations.”
As part of Shinhwa, Eric last released the group’s 9th album in 2008, and this will be his return to this music scene after 3 years. Top Class Entertainment and Eric are committed to put in their best efforts behind this mini-album.
On top of his Shinhwa activities, Eric has also been featuring on tracks for other acquainted singers. However, this will be the first time that he will be actually releasing an album as a singer.
A rep from Top Class Entertainment said, “We’re now at the conceptualization stage for the album. We will showcase songs with a high level of quality.”
According to the rep, this mini-album will be a gift from Eric to his fans, as fans were unable to see Eric in action due to his military obligations, and he hopes to let the fans see more of him in activities now.
On the other hand, the production of Eric’s comeback drama “Poseidon”, which was slated to air on SBS, has been temporarily put on hold, effectively delaying his return to showbiz.

With the lawsuit between DSP Media and KARA's Seungyeon, Nicole, and Jiyoung unresolved, the trio has revealed that they will still be taking part in the group's next Japanese single.
The trio weren't present for the first recording session on April 14th, however, they did confirm that they would participate after a compromise has been reached.
On the 15th, a representative of the three KARA girls trio spoke with OSEN and revealed, "The reason the girls did not go to the recording on the 14th was because they wanted to resolve the outstanding issues before they begin, which is why we postponed the date to the 26th. They did not mean that they would not be taking part in the recording session at all."
He continued, "On the 14th, we sent a document of agreement and are still waiting for a response. We feel like a decision will be made within the next week. Overall, a lot of the differences in opinions between both parties are being worked out, with only one or two matters left to discuss. We're all hoping that this will go well."
The representative concluded, "Should this work out, we will cancel the lawsuit and the girls will return to DSP Media to work on their next Japanese album for June, in addition to other Korean schedules. The compromise is taking a considerable amount of time, which is quite frustrating, but we hope that everything goes well."
T-ara’s Eunjung and actor Lee Jang Woo kicked off their marriage to a positive start last week on MBC’s “We Got Married“. Since Lee Jang Woo is known for being playful, viewers wondered if he’d be able to break through Eunjung’s chic image and further initiate skinship.
In a recent interview with Newsen, Eunjung shyly stated, “Our hands once touched for about three seconds and it felt so unnatural, I remember asking him to let go. I’m actually cool with skinship and would even ask if I could hold hands, but I feel that it’s too early for now.”
When told that the Khuntoria couple had a back hug and that the Adam couple even kissed, Eunjung was asked whether she felt confident enough to pull off skinship of that level. Visibly shocked, she shouted out, “No!! Did they really kiss on the lips?”

It has been revealed that the gap between the positions of KARA's management company, DSP Media, and of the three members' side has reduced and they also went to the extent of agreement with each other. One manager revealed that "Even though the points of view of the two sides are somewhat different, but because they must maintain the group, they have combined opinions from the two parties. KARA has overcome the worst possible crisis, disbandment."
Since last January, due to problems with profit distribution and transparency of paperwork, conflicts between KARA and the management company have arisen. Mr. Tae Jinah, the President of KSA, has stood out on behalf of the showbiz to be a bridge of reconciliation between the two sides and work out the optimal plan for resolving the problems. He has listened and gathered opinions from two parties to avoid KARA's disbandment. And he said the mediation process was almost complete.
A different manager said "The two sides compromise so we are conducting a solution. We absolutely can continue to see KARA with all 5 members."
In recent years, KARA has become very popular in Japan after the release of Mister, Jumping. Among the rookies, they have broken the records and achieved best-selling title and has officially joined the top Hallyu star.
And with the latest single "Jet Coaster Love", KARA has become the first foreign girl group to achieve #1 position on the Oricon Weekly Chart in the first week of release. If KARA can stay together as a group, they surely will receive many more achievements in the future.

Rain has won TIME’s 100 poll once again.
If you can recall, back in 2006 and 2007 he also topped the poll and he was runner up in 2008. After a few years away from the top of the list, his devoted fans have once again vaunted him to the top.
It seem’s TIME wasn’t surprised with the outcome stating,
Korean pop star Rain has won the top spot in the TIME 100 poll, in which we asked readers to rank who they think are the world’s most influential people. By the time the poll closed Thursday night, he had garnered 406,252 “influential” votes and 33,813 “not influential” votes. This is certainly not the first time Rain has taken the top spot; he won in 2006 and 2007, and placed in second in 2008. Coming in a distant second this year was Jay Chou, Taiwanese star of The Green Hornet, getting 207,239 “influential” votes. Rounding out the top three was Britain’s Got Talent phenomenon Susan Boyle with 151,324 “influential” votes. The top-ranking American on the list was Beyoncé, coming in fifth.
You can view the full article here.
Congratulations to Rain and his devoted fans for the victory.

Back in June of 2010, boy group Code-V made their return to the K-pop scene with Addiction. The group had originally debuted in 2007 under the name Bless, but suffered from poor sales and lack of promotion. Unfortunately, their comeback results in June was sub-par and member Taemin left the group in August.
In October, the group found a replacement for the departed Taemin in Seo Min Ho and now they’re preparing for a comeback.
Currently there isn’t much information for their comeback as there isn’t a definitive release date but it should be some time in May. Even though we don’t have much information about their comeback, photos of the group from their upcoming album was recently revealed.
Check out the photos below and if more detailed information is released, we’ll keep you informed.

Since their debut in Japan last August, KARA’s latest single “Jet Coaster Love” has proven to be the most popular as the single has given them their best sales, selling 123,000 copies in it’s first week. The high sales volume has also put KARA at the number one spot on Oricon’s 4/18 Weekly Single Ranking.
This is the first time a foreign female group has had a number one ranking in it’s first week of release since the creation of the Oricon Single Ranking back in January 1968, so it has been 43 years and 4 months!
“Jet Coaster Love” has sold twice the amount of their previous single “Jumping”, which was released during their break-up crisis turmoil last November, selling 55,000 copies in its first week.
KARA was selected as the number one newcomer this year and “Jet Coaster Love” is their first number one in both the weekly single and album rankings. Their first single “Mister” and second single “Jumping” both ranked at #5, while their albums “KARA BEST 2007-2010” and “Girl’s Talk” both ranked #2.
The last time a foreign female artist has placed #1 on the weekly singles ranking was 6 years ago when BoA’s “DO THE MOTION” reached #1 on the 4/11 2005 ranking. The last time a foreign female group placed number one, was The Nolans’s “Dancing Sister” single on the 11/17 1980 weekly ranking, which became number one in its 16th week; it’s been 30 years and 5 months.
KARA also left a comment, “Thanks to all of you, “Jet Coaster Love” has become #1. As KARA, we will continue to do our best to cheer everyone up in the future. And, we hope that everything can be restored even just one day sooner”.
“Jet Coaster Love” is KARA’s first single of 2011. It was originally supposed to be released on March 23rd, but was postponed due to the Great Tohoku Earthquake. In order to help out the area affected by the disaster, KARA has decided to donate all proceeds from this single (CD and digitally) to relief efforts.

One of TVXQ’s back dancers shared two photos of Yunho and Changmin playing with a poodle.
While Yunho poses by holding the puppy up in the air, Changmin can be seen carefully cradling it against his chest. Fans are guessing that the pictures were taken right before the boys headed on stage for a performance on April 14th.
Netizens commented, “They must miss their own pets”, “Let’s respect the puppy’s right to privacy”, and “For one day, I just want to be your puppy!”

Having enjoyed a successful stint in “Queen Seondeok“ in 2009, T-ara’s Qri was cast for another historical drama alongside fellow member Eunjung.
In her latest interview with Newsen, she talked about her audition process for “King Geunchogo“, and shared her thoughts on being a part of the cast.
Qri began by explaining how she was offered the role. “I was eating with my mom when I suddenly got a call asking me to come in. I went and saw that it was for a meeting with the director of ‘King Geunchogo.’ Eunjung said that she was abruptly called out while watching a movie as well. Neither of us were ready at all when we went in for the meeting.”
Fortunately, both ladies landed their roles and have been earning many headlines lately for the photos they’ve shared from the set.

In her latest interview with Newsen, T-ara’s Soyeon shared a bit about her pre-debut life, and expressed her affections for KARA’s Gyuri.
Commenting on her school life, she revealed:
“I had talent ever since I was little, but didn’t begin my training until I turned 16. By conversing frequently with other friends who had the same dreams as me, we were able to connect. It’s true that I did stick out a bit as a student.
I wasn’t obsessed with my grades and led a relatively normal school life. I think it’s because I was sure of my dream that I focused on that entirely, and it was easy to make friends with people who had similar dreams since I went to an arts high school.
One of my closest friends is MBLAQ’s Seungho. We’re still close, and thanks to Seungho, I’ve gotten to know the other members of MBLAQ as well.”

* The post with the excerpt about Gyuri earlier was mistranslated.
T-ara Soyeon has showed her love for KARA's Gyuri as her university junior and her Showbiz senior.
Gyuri was Soyeon's junior at high school and Soyeon has revealed "There was one thing I felt so thankful". She continued "In fact, the relationship between senior and junior of our school is not too close. But Gyuri was such a polite girl. She wasn't really a famous student at school and I was not a great senior to my juniors either.
Because of that, I just knew that she was my junior but never met her at school. KARA debuted first and then when T-ara debuted, while I was walking to the TV station, Gyuri came to me and greeted "Sunbaenim, annyounghaseyo". I greeted back "Annyounghaseyo" but Gyuri said "It's fine, you don't have to do this". I thought that I had a beautiful and kind friend. Until now, she is the only junior I like"

Back in December, we reported about an outdoor performance T-ara held at the Gyungbok Palace for a special music program. Fans worldwide expressed outrage over how ill-dressed the girls were for the -15.1°C weather, the coldest day Seoul experienced in almost 30 years.
At the time, T-ara wore short sleeved dresses made out of mesh material. Soyeon revealed in an interview, “After the performance, we all cried really hard. It was unimaginably cold and everyone sobbed out loud. We also complained a lot to our manager. It was so cold that my body felt like it received burns.”
“There was a communication issue at the time so [our outfits] were not checked over. We were sorry that our stylists received some harsh words from fans who were worried about us. But after it passed, it was sort of funny.”

Just a few months ago, VNT member Lil J revealed that she'd be leaving the group. A reason for her sudden actions wasn't revealed, but a tweet she put up right before changing her account name made sure that she wasn't planning on returning to the group, or more likely, the company.
"They made us like nothing. But, Whatever I’ll go my own way. I’ll do my best. And thanks for your cheer."
Soon after her tweet, Lil J removed her VNT and Lil J folders from her Cyworld and changed this account to her real name, Park Jirang, as well.
In the meantime Media Line, the company behind VNT, was busy preparing for Nugu-Train's debut. This group consists of boys who were previously back-up dancers for VNT and 2 extra members who'd been in other Kpop groups before. Their debut is planned later this month.
N-Train's fan forum MedialineSound revealed just recently that N-Train won't be the only new band Media Line is going to come up with this year. A new girl group, by the name of Viva Girls, has already been training for their debut. One of its members was revealed to be VNT's Yumi.
With this news a possible VNT comeback and member change won't be happening. Instead Media Line chose to debut another group under another name. VNT debuted late last year, in November, with the song "Ye Ye Ye".
Though nothing has been made official, we can assume that the trainees that appeared on N-train's pictures in the past weeks are indeed the new girl group Viva Girls.
