Netizens capture Goo Hara and Yong Junhyung wearing couple bracelets

KARA's Goo Hara and BEAST's Yong Junhyung's couple bracelet has been captured by netizens. Photos were published on an online community board in which two similar silver bracelets were seen on both the idol's right wrists in various televised occasions.

Last year, it was revealed that Goo Hara and Yong Junhyung has been seeing one another and was later quoted on MBC "Radio Star" in October 2011 saying, "We're not actually dating, or deeply in love with each other. We're just getting to know each other right now."

The couple bracelets that netizens have found seem to indicate a growing progress between the young idol couple, especially as they are seen wearing the bracelets openly during live broadcasts.

Meanwhile, BEAST have just released their latest single "I Knew It," a track for their upcoming world tour.

Ivy preparing to return in the first half of 2012 with a new album

Solo singer Ivy is making plans to return to the music industry in the early first half of 2012. A source close to Ivy said on the 25th, "Right now, Ivy is carefully planning out her new album. She has a goal to return in the first half of the year."

Ivy last released an album, "I Be...," on October 2009, making it almost 2 years since she was active in the Korean music industry. Prior to the release of that album, she has been inactive for an additional year and 8 months. In 2010, she participated in the musical "Kiss Me Kate," but has since suspended her activities as a solo singer.

One reason for her extended hiatus is partially due to the lawsuit she filed in June 2010 against her previous agency, Storm E&F, with whom her contract was legally terminated last September by the Seoul Central District Court.

Ivy is known for her great vocals and dancing skills and her comeback will be highly anticipated.

"Korean hip-pop goes global" joke... part 2

Popular Korean hip-pop girl group 2NE1 was featured in the second-largest weekly news magazine in the U.S. on Jan. 25, under the title of “Korean Hip-pop: K-hop goes global.”

In its latest edition, Newsweek showed confidence in the rise of K-hop as a global trend. The article introduced the four-piece girl group, as having the original R&B soul mixed with hip-hop, and their songs as being astutely tailored for a global audience in the digital age.

Korean American producer of 2NE1, Teddy Park said in the article, "The K-hop genre will be the true crossover hit, with its ties to hip-hop, soul and electronica.”

The magazine also forecast that the signs are promising: after a successful debut in Japan in front of 70,000 fans last October they attracted attention in Europe and America. Moreover, a prominent producer and a rapper in America, Will.i.am has already begun working on tracks for 2NE1.

Many K-pop groups such as Girls’ Generation or TVXQ have been successful abroad. However the magazine wrote hip-hop groups such as Big Bang and 2NE1 are “getting in on the act.” While Big Bang won a World Wide Act award at the MTV Europe Music Awards last June through Internet exposure, MTV lggy crowned 2NE1 the Best New Band in the world.

Some critics still question whether K-pop will ever make waves in mainstream U.S. radio, but the magazine says, “K-hop will lift Asian music out of its "tacky stereotype" and bring it to the same level as Latin and European music on the global scene.

A former Korean rapper and producer, Jae Chong says he is currently working on a Korean-American K-hop guy band Aziatix. The group's eponymous mini-album was placed at No.4 on the U.S. iTunes Top Soul Albums last May. "I want to introduce the next phase of K-hop," he said.

I love my queens I do... BUT THEY AIN'T HIP HOP

Police officer disciplined for warning message to President

A senior police officer replied to President Lee Myung-bak’s message of encouragement with a warning that Lee would be held accountable for his administration’s policy on the investigation rights of police and the prosecution.

The message apparently reflected deep discontent in the placing of police rights further under the control of prosecutors. The officer was disciplined for the reply.

According to police, Friday, Lee sent text messages to officers on Jan. 21 ahead of the Lunar New Year holiday saying, “I always thank you who do your duty when others are enjoying the holiday. People of the country trust and rely on you. I wish you good health and happiness. Happy New Year.”

This is posted on behalf of the lovely kanbinayume who isn't home rn. ♥
Also the time is correct, but iirc there were only 1000 tickets; 500 for each showcase (there are 2 in one day). It shows that they have ~1000 fans, but it's definitely not unbelievable or life shattering.
