IU shows LOEN who's in charge + recent CFs/photoshoots

LOEN Entertainment has finally released their long-awaited episode 1 of "2012 LOEN TV" featuring IU in Japan. The video was first posted on LOEN’s official Twitter account on April 13th and has already drawn in over 50,000 views.

However, upon watching the video, IU expressed her dissatisfaction with the video content by posting several tweets to LOEN, "Excuse me, Mr. Loen. Why is Loen TV so short? There have been a lot of changes over the past two years, but why is the screen quality the same for Loen TV? Didn’t I mention that we should get better camcorders~"

Shortly after, LOEN's official Twitter account tweeted back to the singer saying, "Hul… Ms. IU, we promise we'll return with a longer duration and a better screen quality~ If you set it as 720p for now… The quality will be a little… A little better… We’ll work harder to become a better Loen TV!!"

Fans were amused by the conversation between the agency and the artist commenting, "The two are so cute", "IU’s the best.. Even her agency can’t say anything back to her", "This is funny", "The agency’s reaction is hilarious", and more.

Police confirm that Open World Ent.’s CEO forced male idols to sexually harass trainees

On April 15th, Kangnam police confirmed, what was previously reported, that Open World Entertainment‘s CEO had indeed ordered male idol group members to participate in the sexual harassment of six of his trainees.

Police revealed that the CEO could face several charges of gang rape, and that investigations also revealed that he had indeed ordered his male idol groups to participate in the abuse.

Officials of the police stated, “Since the end of 2010, the CEO sexually harrassed six trainees over 10 times. In the process, he had also ordered male idol groups members under his own agency to harrass them as well.

The police have currently launched additional investigations into the case and are discussing the charges to be made against the male idol group members.

Police continued, “We believe that the CEO had not used violence or threats to force the male idols into committing such acts, but rather his status and power. We will have to continue our investigations on whether there was such compliance at the actual scene.

As previously reported, police have confiscated CCTV videos and phone conversation recordings and currently have a considerable amount of evidence against the CEO.

Tourists flock to S.Korea surgeons seeking celebrity looks

Joo Kwon, the founder of CEO of JK Plastic Surgery Center, pictured at his office in Seoul, last month. Chinese are packing Joo's centre -- one of the country's largest -- and many other clinics, lured by the looks of South Korean entertainers who have taken Asia by storm.

It was in the mid-2000s when South Korean plastic surgeon Joo Kwon noticed a trickle of Chinese women walking into his clinic, even though he hadn't advertised overseas.

"They somehow found a way to the clinic... and nearly all of them said they want the face of Lee Young-Ae," Joo said, referring to a top South Korean actress who starred in the pan-Asian hit drama "Jewel in the Palace".

The trickle has now turned into a flood of Chinese packing Joo's JK Plastic Surgery Centre -- one of the country's largest -- and many other clinics, lured by the looks of South Korean entertainers who have taken Asia by storm.

Corrupt and incompetent

Tragedy casts doubt on role of police

Victim: Please help me. I’m being raped by a stranger. It is the attacker’s house located between the public ground and elementary school. … Please hurry!

Police: Are you really saying that you’re being raped? … Can you give us more details about the location again? … Do you know who he is? … Please give us the address one more time.

Could anyone believe this kind of conversation went on for nearly two minutes between a police dispatcher and a woman in the face of an impending rape-murder crime? Yet that’s exactly what happened in Suwon, Gyeonggi Province, last Sunday.

Gary reunites with Song Ji Hyo as the “Monday couple” on ‘Running Man’?

On the April 15th episode of SBS‘s ‘Running Man‘, Gary and Song Ji Hyo were able to briefly reunite as the “Monday couple” after two months.

After news hit that Song Ji Hyo was dating the CEO of her entertainment company, the “Monday couple” seemed to have died away. Gary and Song Ji Hyo were partnered together for this week’s couple race, however, the two couldn’t help but notice the awkward atmosphere.

As the two drove their way to the fishing location for their next mission, Gary suddenly spoke up saying, Oppa is lonely these days, so I’m sure we’ll be able to catch a lot of fish,” causing Song Ji Hyo to laugh at his cheesy comment.

Instead of driving to their designated location, they stopped by at a supermarket. When Song Ji Hyo asked if she could buy anything she wanted to eat, Gary seems to have been secretly longing for the “Monday couple” as he replied,I’ll buy you anything you want to eat. In return, start over with me! However, when they got on the canoe for a mission, the two began to quarrel causing Gary to erupt in anger shouting, Let’s break up!

Netizens couldn’t help but laugh at his hilarious remarks commenting, “He changes his mind too quickly” and “I would’ve accepted Gary.”

Wearing sunglasses while taking a shower? Story of Lee Minwoo's life

(OP note: the segment appears in 00:25-02:15 and 03:37-05:09.)

Shinhwa member, Lee Minwoo recently revealed his strange habit while taking a shower.

On the April 14th broadcast of JTBC's Shinhwa Show, the members brought the cameras into their personal lives and showed their true sides. On this broadcast, the members were given a mission by the show staff to act like their normal selves for a week.

Through a small interview session, Lee Minwoo expressed, "I was really happy when I heard that we could reveal our personal and private lives that we hid until now. I've always wanted to show it once."

As soon as Minwoo walked inside his home, he started taping himself with a portable handheld cam recorder. "Do you want to see my eyes? However, I can't show you my eyes tonight. It's because I have this habit when I take a shower. That is taking a shower with sunglasses. Occasionally, I wear sunglasses while taking a shower", he told.

When asked why he wears a sunglass, Minwoo hilariously answered, "It's because my body shines so bright [aka my body is too hot/beautiful]". Moments later, Minwoo apologized for his joke and truthfully told, "Sorry. To be honest, the fog covers the shades and irritates my eyes. I would never recommend taking a shower with sunglasses to anyone."

Friend of Rapist Becomes Police Officer, Netizens Disgusted

Following the police failure in the handling of the Suwon Torso Murder Incident, another case has emerged in Miryang, a small town in Gyeongsang province, leading many netizens to suggest that the Korean police system needs to undergo serious reforms.

Since April 10th, the Miryang police station website has been overwhelmed by messages from enraged netizens after it was revealed that a high-school student involved with the “Miryang gang rape” case in 2004 has become a police officer there.

In the “Miryang gang rape” incident, which took place in Miryang city in 2004, two middle school students were gang raped repeatedly for about 12 months by a group of 44 (some unofficial estimates are as high as 80-90) high school students. Sadly, the police failed to protect the identity of the victims, used allegedly humiliating investigations techniques, and on several occasions were accused of insulting the victims and their families –– blaming them for the incident. Lastly, as many of the assailants were from rich influential local families, most of them got away with a warning and allegedly continue to live normal lives.

Ivy opens up about her painful hiatus

On April 14th, reporters of KBS 2TV's Entertainment Relay visited the set of Ivy's comeback music video filming and sat down for a heartfelt interview discussing her return.

Ivy began, I went through a lot of pain during my break... I finally feel like I'm living life now that I'm out. Since I was on hiatus for so long, I missed the stage a lot and wanted people to hear my songs. My hiatus just felt so long."

She continued, "I watched all of the music programs every week. Since I had nothing else to do, I would just watch TV all day. Once I turned it off, I felt so pathetic as I sat there on the sofa. I would think to myself, "I should be on that screen...". The industry these days is largely focused on idol singers, so it was disappointing to see that there weren't many solo artists promoting."

For the past two years and six months, Ivy has gone through several obstacles like her lawsuit with her company. When asked how she dealt with the rumors that surrounded her, she replied calmly, "I think it's something that any celebrity has to go through at some point in their career."

Tearing up at the thought of her family having to undergo the same pain, she continued, "My father learned how to work the internet and read the hateful replies about me. I didn't know what to do then. The pain my family received was greater than my own. It's because of my family that I'm able to make my comeback, as they were my biggest source of strength."
