Lee Kwang Soo to cameo in “The Descendant of the Sun,” per 💋 Song Joong Ki’s 💋 request

Lee Kwang Soo will be making a cameo appearance in best friend Song Joong Ki’s upcoming drama “The Descendant of the Sun,” in which actress Song Hye Kyo is also starring.

Song Joong Ki himself asked Lee Kwang Soo to take a cameo, and “Asia’s Prince” readily agreed. He will be playing a working student who meets Yoo Si Jin (Song Joong Ki) and Seo Dae Young (Jin Goo) in the drama.

The production team for the drama said, “Lee Kwang Soo immediately agreed when Song Joong Ki contacted him to do a cameo. We’ve already filmed that part, and despite making a brief appearance, Lee Kwang Soo’s presence was fantastic,” and adds, “It’s probably because they’re so close friends, but all throughout filming, their ‘sticky rice cake’ like compatibility elicited smiles all around.”

“The Descendant of the Sun” is a drama about the young who dream of love and success in the midst of war- and disease-ridden surroundings.

Adorable puppy prince Roy Kim and Bae Dahae - "In Order To Meet You" MV

The song is being used to promote the mobile game Pet Rescue Saga, and all of the proceeds are apparently being donated to PETA (though I'm not clear whether it's the proceeds from the song or the game - I'm assuming the song.) There is a Facebook version of the game as well as an app for iPhone/Android.

[Ads for the game]

This is not the first time Roy has been involved with animal charities, as he opened his own dog shelter, Home, last December.

I really hope the translation is wrong and that money isn't actually going to PETA :/

Super Junior on Radio Star (Megapost) - About label mates, ex-members and inactive members

Despite a rough past with lineup issues, Super Junior has no harsh feelings against two of the members that have been absent from the group since 2009.

On July 15, five members of Super Junior appeared on MBC's "Radio Star" to discuss their new album, "Devil." During the episode, Super Junior discussed the possibility of welcoming back on-hiatus member Kim Kibum and one member's run in with former member Hankyung (Hangeng.)

"Radio Star" host Kim Gu Ra raised the topic of the two members of Super Junior's original lineup, and caused initial discomfit but Super Junior talked about the sensitive issues.

Both Kibum and Hankyung last officially appeared with Super Junior in 2009. Hankyung left SM Entertainment  after filing a contract nullification, while Kibum went inactive to focus on his acting creer. However, Super Junior's comments on the episode revealed that there were no hard feelings.

"Kim Kibum is still a member of Super Junior," said Super Junior's Eunhyuk, speaking for the group. "More than being a singer, his goal is to be an actor so he doesn't promote as a singer. If he has an intention of being a singer, we are of the mind to accept his return."

Super Junior said that Kibum was considered as being on extended leave from Super Junior.

Regarding Hankyung, Yesung told a story about running into his former groupmate at a clothing sale and talked about their friendly conversation.

"Honestly, it was nice to see him," said Yesung. "We were friends. He even said, 'it's been a while. How have you been? Let's get food sometimes.' "

"Devil" was released on July 16 as a special comemorative album celebrating Super Junior's tenth anniversary.

[Heechul talks about the Sulli incident]

On the July 15 broadcast of MBC’s variety talk show “Radio Star,” the members of Super Junior made a guest appearance to celebrate the group’s 10th debut anniversary.

On this day, members Leeteuk, Heechul, Siwon, Eunhyuk, Donghae, and Yesung appeared on the show while Kyuhyun took up his regular MC position.

During the episode, the MCs brought up the topic of Sulli, who is known to be close with Heechul. At the mention of Sulli, Heechul responded, “I dropped out of ‘War of Words’ to avoid having to talk about Sulli but they ask me about it here,” causing laughter.

When asked about the rumors that he unfollowed Sulli on SNS, the Super Junior member shared, “Our SNS accounts get hacked into very often. So at that time, I unfollowed everyone. I usually start following people again, one by one, as I meet up with them. But [in the middle of that process] Sulli told me about the articles [of my unfollowing]. When I read them, there were comments saying things like, ‘If even Kim Heechul unfollowed Sulli, she’s not human,’” explaining that it wasn’t the case that he intentionally unfollowed Sulli as reports claimed.

[Donghae wants someone in EXO to replace Kyuhyun]

On the broadcast of MBC’s variety talk show “Radio Star” that aired on July 15,Super Junior members Leeteuk, Heechul, Siwon, Eunhyuk, Donghae, andYesung appeared as guests while member Kyuhyun took up his usual MC seat.

During the broadcast, the MCs asked Donghae, “We heard you want to take Kyuhyun out of Super Junior and replace him with EXO’s Sehun?”

After hearing this, Kyuhyun got worked up and questioned, “Then would you replace your family with another family just because you like them better?”

To calm Kyuhyun down, MC Kim Gu Ra joked, “Then you can just join EXO.” Kyuhyun brightened up at the suggestion and said, “I like that idea,” making everyone laugh.
Can you imagine Sehun in Super Junior or Kyuhyun in EXO?

[Siwon reveals the member he fought with]

Super Junior members did hilarious (and accurate…!) imitations of their fellow member Ryeowook‘s voice.

On the July 15 broadcast of MBC‘s “Radio Star,” Super Junior’s Leeteuk, Siwon, Heechul, Yesung, Donghae, and Eunhyuk join Kyuhyun and the rest of the MCs as guests.

When MC Yoon Jong Shin asks, “Has anyone fought with Choi Siwon?” Yesung answers, “Ryeowook has.”

Leeteuk explains, “Siwon likes high fives. He did them so much one time that Ryeowook got annoyed and told him to stop.”

Choi Siwon then reveals that he said to Ryeowook, “Are you prepared never to see me again?”

When asked how Ryeowook responded, Choi Siwon does a high-pitched imitation of Ryeowook saying, “I’m prepared! I’m prepared!”

Even afterwards, whenever Ryeowook is brought up during he talk, the members imitate his unique voice, inciting laughter.

Watch the hilarious clip above!

[Leeteuk and Heechul got into a fist fight - long read]

According to the show’s captions, the event happened back in 2010 at the “Incheon Korean Music Wave” concert.

“Even right up to the moment when we had to go on stage, we were fighting,” Leeteuk says. “We probably fought for about thirty minutes.”

“This is really childish, but who won the fight?” asks Kim Gu Ra.

Yesung jumps in at this point to say that he thinks that the two of them didn’t have much experience in fighting. He starts explaining, “Leeteuk grabbed Heechul’s collar, and then Heechul grabbed Leeteuk’s collar.”

“No, I wasn’t wearing a t-shirt then,” interrupts Leeteuk. “I just had a jacket on.” Heechul also agrees that Yesung doesn’t know what he’s talking about, but Kim Gu Ra tells him off and says he wants to hear it from a witness’s perspective. Yesung continues and says that the two of them were yelling at each other while just holding on to each other’s collars for ten to twenty minutes.

Kyuhyun, as another witness, adds that Leeteuk was the one who started the fight. “Then when I was sitting down, Heechul was standing in front of me, and he went to throw a punch. I pushed Leeteuk away, and I got Heechul’s fist right in my face,” he says. “But since everything was so serious I couldn’t say anything about how much it hurt.”

Leeteuk and Heechul also say that they were promoting their song “Bonamana” at the time, which includes a part where the two are supposed to put their backs together on stage as they’re singing. But since Leeteuk was so angry at him, he didn’t lean back against Heechul and there was just an awkward gap between the two!

“Radio Star” shows a clip of the video, and if this is the right performance then Yesung deserves a point because Leeteuk is definitely wearing a shirt!

“After that, we didn’t talk for about three months,” says Leeteuk. “We made up when we went to the United States.” Heechul explains that they’d made up when Leeteuk decided they should get a drink together all of a sudden.

They both agree that after that, they became even closer and Heechul’s always taken his side.

Be sure to watch this week’s episode of “Radio Star” for more great stories from Super Junior!

[Heechul and Leeteuk talk about Sungmins marriage]

On the July 15 episode of MBC’s “Radio Star,” Super Junior’s Kim Heechul,Choi Siwon, Leeteuk, Eunhyuk, Donghae, and Yesung joined Kyuhyun and the rest of the show’s MCs as guests.

During the broadcast, Yoon Jong Shin asks, “Is marriage a sensitive topic for the members after Sungmin got married?”

At this, Kim Heechul says, “There was some miscommunication between the members when Sungmin got married. Some fans already knew and were protecting him. From the perspective of fans, it was disappointing to learn about the news through the media.”

Leeteuk adds, “If you are an idol who gets love from fans, I think there are aspects where you need to also give back. The timing of when you say things is important.”

Kim Heechul then confesses, “As a hyung, I am sorry to Sungmin about some things. I thought a member’s wedding should be a happy occasion, and I’m sorry that I didn’t take care of him more.

13 Korean actors and actresses who regret turning down roles in popular dramas 🎭📺

Choosing to accept or reject a drama role is definitely not an easy decision for Korean actors and actresses. One role can make or break you career, and choosing the right one is a decision that cannot be taken lightly. But every K-drama actor or actress has at least one role they passed up that continues to haunt them!

[Below are 13 actors who turned down a role in a popular drama that possibly could have made their career. We will never know if the popular dramas below would have enjoyed the same success with a different lead, but it's fun to think about!]
1. Hyun Bin

There was much debate and excitement surrounding what Hyun Bin would choose as his comeback drama after his military service. He was originally thinking about taking the lead role in Kill Me, Heal Me but decided to do Hyde, Jekyll, and I. Ji Sung ended up taking the role in Kill Me, Heal Me, and the drama killed it in the ratings while Hyde, Jekyll, and I fell disappointingly short.

2. Chun Jung Myung

Chun Jung Myung doesn’t need to be told that turning down the lead role in Coffee Prince was a mistake. In a recent interview the actor came clean about his regret, admitting that rejecting Coffee Prince “is something I will regret all my life. I apologize to Gong Yoo, but I am just stating how I feel.”

3. Jung Woo Sung

Can you imagine Full House starring anyone other than Rain? Well, it almost did! Both Jung Woo Sung and Lee Jung Jae were originally considered for the role opposite Song Hye Kyo. Full House was massively successful, maintaining the first spot in the ratings with a whopping 40%!

4. Jeon Ji Hyun

Believe it or not, Jeon Ji Hyun was initially considered as the lead in My Girlfriend is a Nine Tailed Fox! While I love Jeon Ji Hyun, after recently rewatching the drama, I truly believe the role was made for Shin Min Ah. What do you think?

5. Jang Geun Suk

Boys Over Flowers fans might be surprised to know that the role of Gu Jun Pyo was originally offered to Jang Geun Suk. However, he turned it down to do Beethoven Virus, and Lee Min Ho was cast. The role of F4’s leader skyrocketed Lee Min Ho to Hallyu fame, but Jang Geun Suk still did pretty well with Beethoven Virus, which averaged 19.1% in ratings and earned Geun Suk an MBC Drama Award.

6. Jang Hyuk

Historical drama powerhouse Jang Hyuk turned down the action-packed hit Bridal Mask. The role of Lee Kang To ended up going to Joo Won, and the drama enjoyed much critical and popular success.

7. Moon Geun Young

The adorable and talented Moon Geun young has turned down many roles in recent years, including The Scholar Who Walks the Night, High Society, and The Moon That Embraces the Sun. I, for one, am still waiting for her comeback drama! Hopefully turning down such amazing roles will work out for Moon Geun Young and she will choose a great comeback project.

8. Song Joong Ki

After a lot of debate, Song Joong Ki turned down the role of King Lee Hwon in The Moon That Embraces the Sun. Interestingly enough, the role was also rejected by Park Shi Hoo and Park Yoo Chun before it eventually went to Kim Soo Hyun.

9. Jung Yong Hwa

Many fans were disappointed to learn that Jung Yong Hwa turned down the role of Choi Young Do in Heirs. The role went to Kim Woo Bin who, in my opinion, ended up being even more perfect for the part!

10. Lee Joon Ki

While the iconic role of Lee Dae Gil in Chuno eventually went to Jang Hyuk, it was originally turned down by Lee Joon Ki. While I love Lee Joon Ki, I cannot picture any other actor in that role. Jang Hyuk was perfect for it. Go Soo and Kang Ji Hwan also turned down the role.

11. Kim Hee Sun

If you thought that Moon Geun Young has turned down a lot of roles recently, Kim Hee Sun definitely has her beat. The actress has turned down lead roles in dramas such as Autumn in my Heart, My Girl, I'm Sorry I Love You, and Lovers in Paris.

12. Kim Ah Joong

Sometimes stars turn down roles for the strangest reasons. That is definitely the case with Kim Ah Joong and Coffee Prince. It was reported that the star turned down the role of Go Eun Chan because she didn’t want to cut her hair due to a shampoo promotion she was doing. Shampoo commercial versus lead role in Coffee Prince...if it were me, there would be no competition! Cut off all my hair!

13. Kim Woo Bin

Kim Woo Bin, who has been focusing on his film career with hits like The Technicians and Twenty, turned down some pretty big drama roles such as the lead in Pinocchio and Jeju Island Gatsby. Do you think Kim Woo Bin regrets not taking the Jeju Island Gatsby role because he didn’t get to kiss Kang Sora like this?

Bonus (the one that almost wasn't): Jeon Ji Hyun

Jeon Ji Hyun initially turned down the role of Cheon Song Yi in My Love From Another Star; however, the show's director and Kim Soo Hyun refused to give up and eventually convinced her that the role would be perfect for her. Thank God she agreed! My Love From Another Star would not have been the same without her!

serious talk: KSH as King Lee Hwon is everything. I love Song Joong Ki but KSH was born to play LH. Also I can't picture anyone but LMH as Gu Jun Pyo.

this is coming hella late because i've been trying to find some kind of official announcement from kbs (also to see if they would upload episodes 83 and 84), but i got nothing. from what i can gather, it seems as though they no longer want to miss out on views from people who  don't want to be three weeks behind the korean broadcasts. i don't know if it's the result of a last minute decision, but that might be why the subs aren't encoded into the video like they usually are. because of my neurosis, i included click-through links of episodes 83 and 84, subbed by kshowonline since i wasn't able to embed them.
