Your Complete Guide to JTBC's "As I Say" (aka "Talking Street")

"Talking Street," a new reality show to air on JTBC aims to gain popularity by getting direct feedback through talking to people on the street.

The cast features established musician Yoo Hee-yeol and popular TV personality Haha as permanent emcees to head the program, while inviting three to four different guests to talk on selected topics. The guests may be high or low-profile people working in various fields such as art, politics, culture and entertainment. The topics can also be developed as they share their experience and opinions with people on the street.
In every episode, the guests will visit selected destinations nationwide from small districts on the outskirts of Seoul to popular main streets downtown.

Yoo emphasized that the new talk show distinguishes itself by creating two-way communication on the street.
"I told the program director that if the show's concept was giving lectures I would not have agreed to appear on it," said Yoo during a press conference at the JTBC building in Mapo, western Seoul, Tuesday. "The biggest difference between our show and lecture shows is space and speakers."
"We call our speakers, buskers, not lecturers. Just as unknown singers perform on the street by busking, we will make efforts to talk to people on the street," said Yoo.

The program director Jung Hwo-min agreed that being on the street has the merit of providing more freedom to the audience and people can just leave if they don't like the talk or stay to listen longer. As the two ask people around the street to listen to their story, it changes the dynamic of speaker and listener.
According to the producer, the unexpected flow of conversation is the point to watch. The invited guests will have their topics prepared beforehand while people on the street will speak directly off the cuff.

Long-awaited ‘Saimdang’ to air first in Korea

With Chinese government’s review for broadcast still pending, financial success of 30-part series at risk

The much-anticipated period drama series “Saimdang, Memoir of Colors” is set to begin airing on Korean broadcasting network SBS next Thursday.

Speaking to reporters Tuesday, the show‘s writer and director said that the goal of airing the series simultaneously in China has been thwarted.

Since August, Beijing has reportedly been banning Korean actors from starring in Chinese productions and restricting the import of Korean content, moves allegedly arising from diplomatic tension between the two countries.

“Saimdang,” originally planned to air in Korea and China in November, has been affected as well. The show has yet to be approved for broadcast in China, and will air only in Korea for the time being, said director Yoon Sang-ho during a press conference held at SBS headquarters in Mok-dong, Seoul.

Glad to see the boys getting more recognition!

Now, if only Korea could jump on the train...

Korea still wants nothing to do with Gaon Top 150 artists, CLC

Pann: Ugh, they just had a comeback

1. [+102, -7] Why aren't they kicking out Yeeun yet?

2. [+101, -3] Hyuna said she contributed a lot in this comeback. No wonder why it gives off Hyuna vibes~

3. [+80, -36] I'm sure it was prepared before the drama Goblin... It takes at least 2 months to prepare for a comeback.

4. [+32, -1] Did they used to dress like this?

5. [+30, -1] CLC looks like 4Minute... Their concept has completely changed. Seems like Cube prepared hard this time.

6. [+25, -2] I prefer their old concept much more... The rapper is totally a Hyuna copycat, her voice and facial expressions.

7. [+19, -4] Their character is unlikable.

8. [+18, -0] I just feel really bad for Seunghee. She joined a group with a trashy character and is struggling. The company doesn't even promote her.

9. [+18, -0] Pepe was my favorite.

10. [+16, -1] I don't understand why the kid raps. She should just be a sub vocal. Her voice sounds so forced.
