Lee Na Young makes her return to dramaland after a nine-year hiatus in "Romance Is a Bonus Book", the tvN rom-com about a love story that unfolds at a publishing company.
Lee Na Young plays Kang Dan Yi, a has-been star copywriter who is just too overqualified to become employed.
Lee Jong Suk plays Cha Eun Ho, a cultural icon who has made a name for himself in the writing community as a prodigy. He’s also known Lee Na-young’s character for years, and to her, he’s that “familiar dongsaeng.” Despite the fact that she’s struggling with failing to find a job and facing society as a divorced woman, Kang Dan Yi continues to put her all into her life. Other characters include Ji Seo Joon (
Wi Ha Joon), a stranger who suddenly appears in Kang Dan Yi’s life to save her from the rain one day with an umbrella, and Song Hae Rin (
Jung Yoo Jin), who has eyes for no one but Cha Eun Ho.
The publishing company is a collection of characters in its own right: Kim Jae Min (
Kim Tae Woo), the boss who rubber-bands between being a cool guy and a nagging old man; Go Yoo Sun (
Kim Yoo Mi), a workaholic “ice witch”; Bong Ji Hong (
Jo Han Chul), a veteran editor with a passionate heart; Seo Young Ah (
Kim Sun Young), a realist working mom; and more.
Directed by Lee Jung Hyo (Life on Mars) and written by I Need Romance series writer Jung Hyun Jung, "Romance Is a Bonus Book" premieres Saturday, January 26 on tvN.
