N.Flying’s Lee Seung Hyub Reveals He’s Been Ruled Exempt From Military Service

Ahead of the release of their mini album “So, 通” on June 10, N.Flying talked about the addition of their newest member Seo Dong Sung. Lee Seung Hyub, the leader of the group, also announced that he has been ruled exempt from military service due to a past injury and shared his thoughts on the matter.

In recent months, various idols born between 1991 and 1995 have enlisted, including WINNER’s Kim Jin Woo and Lee Seung Hoon, BTOB’s Yook Sungjae and Hyunsik, EXO’s Suho, Block B’s U-Kwon, and more. With a birthday in 1992, Lee Seung Hyub, whose turn to enlist didn’t seem far away, was ruled exempt from military service due to a past injury.

The N.Flying member spoke about the exemption, saying, “I thought a lot about when the best time would be to reveal the news. After sustaining a leg injury in 2014, I have since had two surgeries, and my debut was also postponed because of it. At the time, I received a reexamination, after which I found out I was ruled exempt. As a result, I am unable to serve in the military.

He continued, “A long time ago, a fan asked me during a fan signing when I was going to enlist, so I told them that I wasn’t able to go due to an injury, but this is my first time making an official announcement. In some ways, it’s a sensitive topic, and in thinking about how fans would receive the news, I thought I shouldn’t rush revealing the news when I wasn’t completely ready.”

TWICE’s Jeongyeon Shares That She’s Been Dealing With Neck Injury

During a live broadcast on V Live on June 8, a fan asked Jeongyeon if her neck is alright. She responded that part of the reason she’d turned on a live broadcast was to talk about this, and she explained that she hadn’t spoken about it because she hates it when their fans ONCE see her in pain. However, she knew they’d realized something was wrong with her neck as she’d been wearing pain relief patches.

While we were filming the ‘MORE & MORE‘ music video, I felt a numbness that went all the way to my ear,” she said. “So I thought I’d better go to the hospital again — I went there a few times in the past and they’d told me everything was okay.” She went to a specialist hospital this time, and they told her that she had a herniated disc in her neck.

“We found this out a week before the comeback,” she said, explaining that she’d had a procedure done. “To elaborate, I was in the hospital too and so I really wasn’t able to practice for this comeback. I could hardly practice at all.”

“I really hated the thought of showing ONCE an imperfect performance,” she said. “You understand how I feel, right? So after I discussed with the company, we asked the networks for their understanding and talked to them about not filming fan cams for me.” When artists perform on music shows, networks sometimes film “fan cam” videos that focus on individual members.

As a freshman in the college of music, Ji Soo didn’t expect to catch the eye of Han Jae Hyun (Park Jinyoung), a popular, headstrong law school student, but she did. Falling for him as quickly as he fell for her, the two experienced one of the most beautiful moments any two people can experience together: their first love. But like so many first loves, theirs wouldn’t last forever.

Now in her forties, Ji Soo (Lee Bo Young) is a single mother, working a contract job in a desperate attempt to make ends meet. Jae Hyun (Yoo Ji Tae), on the other hand, is a successful, ambitious businessman who has pursued wealth and honor, above all else. Far different than the man he once was, Jae Hyun is hardly recognizable as the headstrong kid he used to be. But when fate brings Ji Soo back into his life, she recognizes him almost immediately.

Suddenly back in each other’s lives, Ji Soo and Jae Hyun have been granted a rare opportunity to start over. But can two people really separated by so many years and experiences, really reignite a flame that flickered out so many years ago?

A story of first loves and second chances, “When My Love Blooms” is a 2020 romantic drama directed by Song Jung Hyun.
