Teasers for "The Great Seducer"

“The Great Seducer,” which is based on the classic French novel “Dangerous Liaisons,” tells the story of the reckless young men and women who find themselves entangled in a dangerous game of love and seduction. Red Velvet’s Joy stars as Eun Tae Hee, a high-achieving college student who isn’t easily swayed by men, while Woo Do Hwan plays Kwon Shi Hyun, the charming rake who embarks on a mission to seduce her.

Kwon Shi Hyun is part of “the trio of elite troublemakers,” along with the beautiful Choi Soo Ji (played by Moon Ga Young) and the free-spirited ladies’ man Lee Se Joo (played by Kim Min Jae). The three friends are embroiled in an ongoing love triangle. Kwon Shi Hyun and Choi Soo Ji are also the primary instigators of the characters’ games of seduction. The two make a “dangerous bet” with far-reaching consequences that neither of them could have imagined.

Meanwhile, Eun Tae Hee’s best friend Go Gyung Joo (played by Jung Ha Dam) harbors unrequited love for Lee Se Joo, while the disreputable Lee Ki Young (played by Lee Jae Kyoon) pursues Eun Tae Hee with less-than-honorable intentions. Choi Soo Ji also has her own history with Lee Ki Young, and she is determined to exact revenge on him at all costs.

Lee Ki Young’s mother wants him to marry Oh Ha Ni (played by Park Hye Jeong), but the chart shows that Choi Soo Ji manages to manipulate the unwitting Oh Ha Ni for her own purposes.

However, things don’t end there—the main characters’ parents have their own history as well. Eun Tae Hee’s mother (played by Jun Mi Sun) is the first love of Woo Do Hwan’s father (played by Kwon Seok Woo), and the two still harbor feelings for one another. Woo Do Hwan’s father and Choi Soo Ji’s mother (played by Kim Suh Hyung) are also planning to enter into a marriage of convenience for business reasons, causing the two friends to suddenly become step-siblings.

The Great Seducer (also known as Tempted) premieres Monday, March 12 on MBC.

I'm really looking forward to this. I don't expect it to be good, but I hope it's entertaining. Heart eyes at Woo Do Hwan.

I’m here for Woo Dowhan. Interesting, the step siblings relationship was in Cruel intentions. Looks good so far. Glad this is college aged. Not enough dramas about this age group.

i was here for the chemistry alone, but relating this to cruel intentions? there's no way i can't watch then!

Cruel Intentions is on Netflix, watched it for the first time in years. Its still fun, aged well. Valmont is such manipulative trash. I hope they make Woo Dohwan just as sassy in this version.

watching the trailer and reading the themes of the plot, I feel like Joy is miscast as a lead. She has had 1 tv drama under her belt and still so green. I did enjoy her in Liar and his Lover but I felt that the character suited her actual personality and skills and that show had a very simply plot. This seems to be tad dark and complicated and not sure if her acting range can handle it.

I'm watching this because attractive leads and this'll combine all my favourite tropes by the look of it.

This is definitely a drama I'll watch until the end even if it's trash

Like everyone else, this is giving me Cruel Intentions vibes, mixed with The Heirs. I feel like this should have been on TVN?

And I'm not sure about Joy being cast in this, either. Granted, I've never watched anything she's in (which is not much), but yeah. Also glad this is set in college. Haven't watched a k-drama in awhile, so maybe I'll watch this!

they gonna make the girl in the trio evil, hate it, the two girls in perfil look so similar. am game with friendship dramas and jealous but not evil things. but I will watch.

Watched the first episode and it’s just as sassy as Cruel Intentions, I love it and Woo Dohwan is ridiculously sexy: his voice his face (Ryan Phillipe could never)
I kept pausing so I could squeal about how hot he is.

Within the first ten minutes of watching the first episode, I knew I was going to be sucked into this drama. LOL. I hope this drama doesn't suck as much as The Heirs did. I want REAL heartbreak and drama. Not Lee Min Ho's whiny man pain.

Joy was surprisingly better than I expected.
