#metoo news: SNSD's "ITNW" used as anthem + JJ Project show support

Soshi's legendary debut song "Into the new world" continues being THE song used for protests in Korea. After Ewha Women's University students sang it during part of their peaceful protest against the university in 2016, and becoming the 'morning dew' of the young generation during the 2016-17 Candlelight demonstration, the song is now used as the new anthem of the #metoo movement in Korea.

In a recent interview, Jinyoung and JB expressed their support of the #metoo movement.

Into the New World will always hold a special place in my heart. I listened to it when my childhood friend past away. I listened to it when I entered high school. When I graduated high school. When I graduated university and got my masters position. It's just... it's poignant and powerful and the perfect anthem for this movement.

I didn't expect less of JJProject tbh. I knew they wouldn't shy away from answering it on behalf ofGOT& if JYPE let the question through (companies are notorious for filtering stuff like this in the pre-interview screening), and the way they answered in tandem and worded it in Korean really warmed my heart. Some of the sentiment always gets lost in translation.

I'm a little surprised to see them being asked about #metoo but I'm glad they did so we got this answer (imo this is one of those topics celebrities and idols should comment on to give it exposure). Idk, it's very meaningful to hear them say this and they answered beautifully.

I'm so glad they were asked about this, more idols (especially male and senior idols) need to show their support

ITNW fills me with a feeling I can't describe; listening to it being played at event like this, that empower women, or at the LGBT pride makes me ridiculously proud for some reason.

This is beautiful and powerful. I'm so happy the movement has picked up and women can speak up and organize against this bullshit.

Also, ITNW always has me feeling some type of way. I'm not crying; you're crying.

Honestly it's so moving to see that an entire generation (lol) feels inspired by SNSD, a group of super successful women. It's something that really shows the depth of their legacy imo. They weren't just some disposable pop group that can now be replaced by a new crop of young girls.

I also saw excerpts of interviews from last year where Tiffany and Yuri were asked about INTW's use as a protest song during the presidential scandal. They both said they were really moved by it, and one of them even mentioned the importance of feminism/female empowerment, which is so cool. Wish I knew the source so I could link it.

I love that idols are able to bring some support and their songs be used for a great cause. especially since idols (especially males) don't get asked complicated questions.
