lmao at all these people dismissing this event. stay pressed, stay bitter, i guess.

i still can't believe this event is/was real. i'm really glad they were able to speak at such a platform considering there are millions of us who listen to them. i really hope people actually take their words to heart and stop fucking discriminating one race from another, which has been prevalent for the past couple of years, and just love and accept one another. it seems unrealistic since there are so many immature fans, but hey, a girl's gotta believe what she wants to believe. (can bts also stop working with problematic people pls k tnx)

i'm extremely proud of namjoon, of his speech, and of bts for coming this far. his words made me tear up since it was something i really needed to hear at this point in my life. <3

I don't think people are dismissing it, it's more that the words need to be followed through with actions. and I would really love for this speech to be followed through, but the problem is that those who are skeptical (like myself) have heard and read a lot of empty, pretty words before.

tbh, i wrote this comment after having seen people saying that this isn’t an important event and blah blah blah as well as reading that dismissive comment above.

but i get what you mean. i’m a fan of theirs but i also know that it’s important for them to walk the walk and not just talk the talk (and also keep being critical over things that are big issues in the fandom e.g. racism, the boys working with problematic people, etc). i’m a firm believer than actions speak louder than words and i hope they’d be able to actually back themselves up over this ambassador image they have now more than ever.

not an important event? psh they're standing on the political global stage, it's huge! whoever is saying that is an idiot.

I'm not a fan of BTS in any capacity, other than having a few of their songs, but yeah, they have a lot of influence now and they gotta be very careful with what they do moving forward. I made this point in the Akimoto post, but if they're gonna 'be woke' then they gotta stay fckn woke.
