Flashback Friday

Happy Friday! Hope you guys are had a good day. Mine sucked lol, but I bought half a dozen donuts and a whole pie so hopefully things will look up. Anywhos, every week I check out the charts for this day in the past and share the top three songs. Then I pick out two more from the top ten as honorable mentions. Today let’s see who was on top for the 2nd week in October, 2009.

#3 MC Mong featuring Ivy “I Am”
This was one of the songs from his last full album before the hiatus. I don’t remember this single at all, but the video looks familiar. Although I could be confusing it with another one of his music videos. Ivy looks and sounds great.

#2 SHINee “Ring Ding Dong”
I don’t think I’ve seen this music video since 2009 and that’s a damn shame lol. I had to watch it a few times, so much nostalgia. And everything is still so good! I remember this era so clearly. But I never noticed fluffy little Taemin drinking milk before though…so precious lol.

#1 Leessang featuring Jung In “Girl Who Can’t Break Up, Boy Who Can’t Walk Away”

I freaking love this song so much. I never skip the song or the MV whenever it comes on, I have to sit through the whole thing. This song was on the charts for a long time, and topped them at number 1 for weeks. It’s a classic, even Gary’s last Running Man episode was called “Running Man who can’t break up, Gary who can’t leave”. This is my obligatory “I love Jung In’s voice” comment.

Honorable Mentions

#4 T-ara & Supernova “TTL Listen 2”

Their earlier collaboration, “TTL” which did really well on the charts. So the company put out another one a few months later. The first single was more of a unit group, but this song features all the members of both groups. I don’t remember this one at all. How are Supernova doing? All they all out of the military now?

#9 Taeyang “Where U At”
Solar era is still my favorite solo era. This was the first single off of the album. And dancer Taeyang! It’s been a while lol. I mean, he’s still dancing…but it’s looking a little different now lol. Choreographers Lyle Beniga and Shaun Evarsito are in the MV with him. This video ends with a preview of the album’s next single (and still my most favorite Taeyang song).

A friend sending me the RDD video (because we were talking about hot guys) is what got me into kpop. And then I went down the youtube rabbithole, found omona, and realized kpop meant I could have music with good beats in the car without having awkward conversations about lyrics with my primary school kids ... who are now teenagers. Yipes.

Ring Ding Dong is that timeless bop ... nobody can't convince me otherwise
