if a male idol group did these lyrics you know kpop fans would be dragging them on the floor for it

I think we’d have a loud and vocal minority calling them out while majority of boy group fans would overlook it because their group are kings who can do no wrong :/ this is just a kpop stan issue in general, I read comments from YouTube/IG/etc for YoY and fans aren’t even acknowledging the lyrics (so far). Just another reminder not to participate in fandom lol

I just think this message should be minimized, for men and women.

But don’t they all the time? BTS’ Danger? Boy in Luv? EXO’s Growl??

Didn’t BTS apologize about those lyrics? I’ve been told they did before, but I may be wrong.

I know they did for War of Hormone but idk, they may have done it for all of their songs they released in that period of their career.

Tbh I feel like it’s a valid conversation to have re: consent, dating violence, etc but this just seems like an overreaction.

People always complain that gg songs are generally like “omg I’m so shy but I hope oppa notices me and holds my hand one day!!!!” but when a gg comes out with a song that is more “I know what I want and I’m not taking no for an answer” suddenly it’s a rape anthem. This is definitely in the grey area for me.

And suddenly omona turned Twice’s song into a rape song. This is it for me with this ott community.

I was laughing at stan twitter thinking they were children, didn't expect to see the same here. I'm baffled.

eh i don't like the lyrics either but i'm tired of the false equivalencies being thrown around and people acting like a girl group like twice singing a song like this has the same connotations as a boy group doing it.. but defending this song isn't a hill i wanna die on lol

I mean this is the same community that accused IU of being a p*dophile when she criticized kpop's obsession with underage girls.

I do think it is... fucking disgusting, that they have the gall of taking serious issues like consent and MeToo and turn them into buzzwords to attack a group they happen to dislike.
