Seungri Reveals Secret Method Idols Use To Exchange Numbers At “Inkigayo”

The December 27 broadcast of SBS’s “We Will Channel You" featured Kwanghee, who was recently discharged from the military, returning to the “Inkigayo” cafeteria for the first time in years. While watching the footage from the studio, Seungri commented with a sly smile, “That cafeteria on the fourth floor is really an incredible place.”

He went on to explain, “No one’s allowed to eat in the waiting rooms [at ‘Inkigayo’], so all the performing artists always wind up eating in the cafeteria on the fourth floor. That’s where lots of things end up happening.”

Yang Se Hyung asked, “Between the singers?” Seungri replied, “Yes. So many things happen there, at that cafeteria on the fourth floor.”

He then revealed one method that idols could use to secretly exchange phone numbers backstage at the music show.

Referring to the famously delicious “Inkigayo sandwiches” sold at the cafeteria, Seungri asked, “You know those sandwiches? You know how they’re wrapped in plastic? Sometimes people would unwrap one side of the plastic, slip their phone number inside, and give [the sandwich] to someone.”

Kwanghee exclaimed with a laugh, “You’ve clearly done this before!” He turned to Yang Se Hyung and said, “He’s talking about himself.”

However, Seungri insisted, “This story wasn’t about me."

Why do older idols always be giving away the younger idols secrets?
jaelissi 29th-Dec-2018 06:18 pm (UTC)
Cause they're assholes

Haha, every generation has to find out their own tricks.

I remember during DB5K times, when Junsu said he had to meet up with his girlfriend in the parking lot. And then people started talking about how the Han river was a popular dating spot.

He's always been an asshole like that hhhhhh earlier this year when he and Daniel appeared on Radio Star he kept trying to expose if some female idol asked Daniel for his number after he got popular and when he said "no, but male idols like BTS Suga sunbaenim asked for my number" S**ngri kept insisting it was so annoying lol. Daniel was trying to play it cool but he still looked uncomfortable tbh ugh.

Big Bang didn't pave the way but Big Bang exposed the way lol.

His number is probably on the menu.
blck_ink 29th-Dec-2018 07:31 pm (UTC)
i mean you have to find a way to give out your number without crazies following your every move.

nice to see kwanghee again! he's really skinny tho so i hope he's doing well.

Now we know why that sandwich is so popular among idols lol

Lol these things are always so needlessly sensationalised and older idols are so annoying with this on variety shows just exposing their own old tricks like it's still 2007 - why would anyone need to be so ridiculously secretive in making contact in this day and age when there are so many ways of getting someone's info? They're backstage. They're there for a ridiculously long amount of time. There's no one there that doesn't work about the industry and doesn't already know all the worst gossip. They can talk and interact freely with other people and easily obtain someone's number or email just by asking around or talking to other idols - do people just expect them to sit in their dressing rooms and stare at the walls the entire time? We know friendships are formed quite openly and most idols are already quite well connected from their trainee days so it literally doesn't become *scandalous* until you start to use weird methods like this. Like giving someone food or drink is immediately outing someone as being on the prowl this way.

Anyway I would be seriously pissed off if someone gave me a delicious sandwich and I later found out they took off the wrapping and fondled it with their bare unwashed hands to put a piece of paper in it
juhli 30th-Dec-2018 12:09 am (UTC)
I remember when I was in Korea, they always wrapped everything threefold, i kinda felt bad for producing so much waste. So, it's possible that they only open the first layer to slip in the note ¯\_(ツ)_/¯¯
annayism 29th-Dec-2018 11:45 pm (UTC)
ngl i wouldn't eat a sandwich that had been tampered with/that had the wrapping peeled back with a piece of paper inside? ew lmao. they sound gross anyways lol not my fav combination of ingredients
lizanka23 30th-Dec-2018 06:02 am (UTC)
it just sounds like he's describing his personal experience tbh. i wouldn't be surprised if he was relying solely on his name recognition...
