SUNMI - ‘Noir' [2nd Teaser]

TW for the last scene which, for me, evokes suicide
I know it's not the first time k-pop MV have similar imagery (recently I can think of at least 1 other mv) but just to be sure
I'm really not feeling the overall concept for this so far

I swear if those tweets and photos of pills etc are just there as a part of the promotion for the new song, I'm gonna be sooooo disappointed.

Mental illness is no joke and I hate the idea of it being used like a goddamn concept :///

Her label already confirm the pills were for the MV shoot, and she mentionned the tweets were lyrics related
It could be her way to deal with her own struggle, that I don't know
I'm personally not confortable with some of the imagery so far, maybe it'll make sense later on, idk, but right now it's a bit difficult, for me at least, to deal with

Ooohh, okay, thanks for the clarification!

And same, it's a bit difficult for me as well to look at all of this :/

as someone who takes a thousand pills every day for mental illness and other stuff, i actually appreciate a k-pop artist talking about it and using hyperbole imagery to represent mental struggles.

i hope the whole MV is good, but for now, speaking for me obvs, i'm finding it very relatable.
i can understand it being uncomfortable for most, though.

So far it sounds amazing.
As for the "concept" I don't think she is using it as a concept itself. Lyrics are her personal struggles, so she is just talking about her issues here.

I want the MV to be released so that I can make a proper judgement. So far I'm mostly pissed that I will miss her concert T__T

This is an interesting one for me.

My partner has struggled with depression & suicidal thoughts, and he believes it SHOULD be talked about more...idk much about Sunmi's personal life, but if it's something she's been through more power to her. If she finds comfort in opening up through her music, then go for it.

However, I appreciate that I'm watching this as someone who has never struggled with suicidal thoughts, and I can imagine it'd be uncomfortable. I've struggled with anorexia myself & remember totally avoiding Hyomin's "Nice Body" at the time - though I hate how bloody catchy it is.

I'm interested to see the discord that'll happen on Omona...though I hope the people who ARE affected by this can find a way to cope and/or remove themselves if necessary <3

gonna wait on the MV to see how everything all plays out but it's still concerning since a lot of what's been shared has been with 0 context and then promptly removed after concern is raised.

with a concept like this it's probably best to be upfront about what it's about or how it's meant to be interpreted. keeping it a vague mystery just triggers people or makes them worry.

the devil/demon shadow part was interesting, but the rest were not something I would want to watch in an MV. hope she explores more of that shadow theme
