Subject: TXT's Billboard achievements so far

Tomorrow X Together Debuts at No. 1 on Emerging Artists, World Albums & World Digital Song Sales Charts

The group also notches the highest-charting debut album by an all-male K-pop group on the Billboard 200.

South Korean K-pop quintet Tomorrow X Together debuts at No. 1 on Billboard’s Emerging Artists chart (dated March 16), becoming the top emerging act in the U.S. for the first time.

The Emerging Artists chart ranks the most popular developing artists of the week, using the same formula as the all-encompassing Billboard Artist 100, which measures artist activity across multiple Billboard charts, including the Hot 100, Billboard 200 and the Social 50. (The Artist 100 lists the most popular acts, overall, each week.) However, the Emerging Artists chart excludes acts that have notched a top 25 entry on either the Hot 100 or Billboard 200, as well as artists that have achieved two or more top 10s on Billboard's "Hot" song genre charts and/or consumption-based "Top" album genre rankings.

Tomorrow X Together’s debut is powered by its debut EP The Dream Chapter: Star, which launches at No. 140 on the Billboard 200 with 7,000 equivalent album units earned in the U.S. in the week ending March 7, according to Nielsen Music. Of its opening week sum, 4,000 were in traditional album sales, enabling the set to concurrently bow on the following album sales-based charts: World Albums (No. 1), Heatseekers Albums (No. 2) and Top Album Sales (No. 26).

Further, on the Billboard 200, The Dream Chapter: Star becomes the highest charting debut album by an all-male K-pop group on the Billboard 200.

The EP becomes the first non-BTS album to lead the World Albums chart since EXO’s EXO 5: Don’t Mess Up My Tempo in November. BTS led the chart for 15 consecutive weeks since then.

The EP’s tracks also make a dent on the World Digital Song Sales chart. “Crown” leads the way at No. 1, followed by “Blue Orangeade” at No. 10, “Cat & Dog” at No. 14 and “Our Summer” at No. 17.

TXT (as their name is often abbreviated) becomes the fourth K-pop group to lead the Emerging Artists chart, and the first since NCT 127 in December. Prior to NCT 127, NCT and BLACPINK each led the ranking for one week each. TXT also becomes just the fifth act to debut at No. 1 on the Emerging Artists chart, joining PVRIS in 2017, and Anderson East, Sheku Kanneh-Mason and BLACKPINK in 2018.

The group, consisting of Yeonjun, Soobin, Beomgyu, Taehyun and Huening Kai, is signed to Big Hit Entertainment, the same label as BTS.

I need to get myself a nice TXT icon asap if I keep posting about them. More seriously, new gen rookies are definitely a force to be reckoned with - breaking records left and right. Can't wait to see all of them grow even more

Yes, come through boys! And ia that the new gen rookies are definitely a force to be reckoned with. TXT, ITZY and (G)I-DLE (even if they're technically not rookies anymore) in particular stand out.

Also maybe not rookies but don't forget about The Boyz!

This year's rookies will include: Itzy, TXT and Broduce bg 2.0 so it's already a big year. Plus if you count Kang Daniel;s solo debut as rookie(?) then itz a monster year!

Stray Kidz too! These groups really aren’t playing lmao. TXT and ITZY are definitely in the running for ROTY unless another group/soloist comes out as powerful are those two.

Well unless the Produce X101 season flops then whatever group comes out of that could be huuuuge.

I'm worried for Daniel at this point tbh

He needs to break free of his agency and sign somewhere else!

I'm oddly very proud of them XD Good job boys ! That debut song is solid material, they seem truly adorable, they worked hard (that choreo, I mean ✨👏) and I hope they will have a future has bright as their big brothers. Without the anxiety if possible, that would be very cool XD

I wonder how this same group would have done with this same debut under another no-name company. There's no doubt in my mind that they truly deserve it. But there's also no denying that they got a huge buff for what they are. I'm morbidly curious how this would have played out...
lil_poisonfrog 13th-Mar-2019 11:28 am (UTC)
Forget a no-name company, I think the result would be different if they had debuted under any other company including Big 3. Their debut is quality though so I'm not mad about it.
