At first it felt good to see all the trash getting taken out with this scandal. But now I'm seeing shit about how some of the suspects are refusing to hand over their phones to police and it takes 2 days to "get a warrant". I want to scream. The police are corrupt as fuck. Judges can give warrants on short notice in many countries and if not, they should have filed for one before they even arrested them. They are lowkey giving them time to wipe their phones so these rapists can get away with their crimes.

I just realized that I assumed some sort of "Korean FBI" existed to take this case totally out of the police's hands. But Korea doesn't have the federal system so like....the police are all that exists in terms of law enforcement I guess. The fact that they can keep working on the case and fucking shit up while they're under investigation themselves is enraging.

I'm this close to no longer stanning boy groups tbh. Bc there's undoubtedly members in every group who share these videos even if they aren't the ones filming them. With 3rd gen groups, it's only a matter of time before we find out what trash they are. If it's not for sex crimes or misogyny, it'll be something else, like drunk driving. Or anything male celebs get away with that would immediately sink a women's career. UGH.

Prosecutors can lead investigations in Korea indepent to the police. And parliment can create special prosecutor teams (and I believe people like the lawyer and reporter can be asked to join these teams) for big cases like corruption in police/prosecution/politicians, like the one they formed for the former president's case.

So all hope is not lost.

Yeah I know the government has their own investigation going on. But like, they don't seem to have the power to stop the police from doing their own work too. That's the problem I have. Whereas the feds in America (in certain cases) can take jurisdiction away from local police forces. If this case was happening in America, the FBI would come in, guns out and all, and raid Seungri and co.'s residences once they obtained a warrant. There'd be none of this back-and-forth nonsense with the police. Not saying law enforcement isn't corrupt as fuck in America too btw, just that we supposedly have mechanisms in place to deal with this sort of situation.

Come to the girl group side of kpop....We have prettier concepts.

Lol I already mostly like girl groups anyway! But there's a couple boy groups I still follow and sometimes I find myself buying into the fantasy they sell. But ita that girl group concepts are better...tbh I feel like girl groups are more likely to take risks bc they don't usually have a loyal fanbase to fall back on.

I'm definitely feeling the conflict between stanning a boy group (or at least being very caught up with certain members) and just having this growing despise (of many years) so many men for doing the shit they do and getting away with it. But on another hand I feel it would be more exhausting to view all men as being trash because that scenario feels so hopeless (and not true, even if many things point towards the opposite rn).

I guess fans just gotta learn not to view idols/celebs in too high regard and not obsess over them too much because it's just unhealthy and leads nowhere in the end. Also just because someone you'd be a fan of showed later on they're trash, it doesn't mean you're a bad person because you were lead on by their act (now, at this point the person should then drop the idol and not carry on supporting them, tho it sadly it seems many are doing it for these offenders which just boggles my mind tbh. I used to have a soft spot for Seungri way back in the day bc Big Bang was the first kpop group I became a fan of, but there's nothing left of that now and even if there was something left, it's certainly gone now).
