Flashback Friday

It’s the weekend! I’ll be spending the next two days frolicking in nature. We’re in the middle of a butterfly migration across California, and it’s so lovely! I went for a run slow jog yesterday and I felt like they were constantly smacking me in the face. Every week I go through the charts for this day in the past and share the top three songs. Then I pick out two more from the top ten as honorable mentions. This week, we’re going back to the 3rd week of March, 2009. The top three have been posted before, so we’ll check out some live stages.

#3 8eight “Without A Heart”

This is my favorite song from them. It gets me right in the feels every time I hear it. I wanted to post a recent stage, but since they aren’t around anymore (sad face) here’s a live stage from when they were promoting it 10 years ago.

#2 Davichi “8282”
Here’s the ladies doing the song on Sketchbook, on what looks to be a giant karaoke stage. How fun! It’s totally fitting because the song is perfect to singalong to…it’s a damn bop! I scream along to this in the car whenever that beat drops. Windows down and everything, idgaf.

#1 Super Junior “Sorry Sorry”
Here’s their stage from KCon in LA back in 2015. This gives me anxiety because there’s a freaking hole in the stage and someone could have totally fell in. Anywhos, I think everyone pretty much knows this song, and can do the choreo to do too. At least the “Sorry Sorry” part, right? I’ve always really liked the song’s choreography so much.

Honorable Mentions

#5 2AM “A Friend’s Confession”
I totally forgot that they sang this song! That chorus is so recognizable. For a second I thought that Jo Kwon was Jay Park lol. It’s the hair! He looks so different to me with his hair like that. They all look pretty different to me, but then again it was 10 years ago now. The MV features singer and former labelmate Joo.

#9 BoA featuring Sean Garrett “I Did It For Love”
This just feels SO 2009. That outfit with those super low rise pants. Hat choreography. Cane choreography. Chair choreography. Fan choreography. All the choreography! That CGI. And dancing in the rain. Oh I love it lol! Such a throwback. This was a single off of her English album, and it features the song’s producer Sean Garrett.

Sorry, Sorry was definitely the first kpop song I ever regularly listened to. I can't believe that was 10 years ago 😭
