SS501's Kim Hyung Jun to undergo police questioning following sexual assault allegations

SS501’s Kim Hyung Jun, who was previously accused of sexual assault, will be summoned for police questioning.

On April 3, a police source in charge of Kim Hyung Jun’s sexual assault case stated, “We are currently discussing the dates to summon Kim Hyung Jun for questioning. The date has not been confirmed yet. Also, if he does not agree to it, he cannot be forced to stand at the photo line (have photos taken by the press).”

On March 25, plaintiff A accused Kim Hyung Jun of sexually assaulting her in May 2010. On the April 2 broadcast of SBS’s “Entertainment Night,” she explained, “I met him at a bar around December 2007 when I had a part-time job there. In 2010, I heard [he] moved, but he came to my house drunk. He pat the sheets on my bed saying he would put me to sleep. He suddenly pressed on my arm, and I felt extremely humiliated.” She added that she received psychiatric treatment for the trauma caused by the incident.

Kim Hyung Jun and his agency denied all claims of sexual assault, saying that the relations were consensual. They emphasized that this happened nine years ago and stated that they plan to take legal action against her for false accusations and defamation.

Kim Hyung Jun will return to Korea to be questioned after completing his world tour “Master Piece” early next month.

The fact that so many men are into sexual assault is disturbing to say the least. We all know it's not about sex so why are they so after power and making women crawl on the ground is baffling...

Also that "it hapenned nine years ago"... I don't care? A crime is a crime. You pay for it. Wtf at this line of thought, are we talking about yoghurts here for it to have an expiration date ?

*internal screaming* Fighting for what ? Not facing justice ? omg Stans never learn. I understand the colored glasses but to this extent ? How? I...

My faith in humanity is below zero this morning, I need to watch an episode of Queer eye or something....

The usual depressing internalized misogyny.

nothing baffling about it. men for centuries and to this day have had most of the political and economic power in society at the expense of women and those deemed weaker by society, so a lot of men have gone drunk of the power and want to benefit themselves only. it's the same reason men sexually assault other men and children. they are taught that they have to be strong and physically dominate others, so they continue to uphold this system. some men try to speak out for equality but most see nothing wrong with this system and say that's just how the world works and it will always be that way. and they would rather attack feminists and women for speaking out against sexual assault and power dynamics in society

I think there may be a distinction here between types of sexual assaults, I have the impression from some of these korean (and other) cases that the men really aren't viewing it as assault. The whole, we were friends, we drank together, she let me in, as if that is all some undercover signaling that she really wanted it. All related to the idea of how she dressed, and women just like to act not easy but really want it, etc. etc. bullshit patriarchy repressed crap.

And the other, the sexual assaults that are definitely not about sex.

I'm not defending him at all, this is some f-ched up shit, but this maybe a different type of pathology/societal failure. (a pathology very rampant among the older gen where I live who I work with.) Either way, legal consequences, off to jail.

I totally forgot this this had happened. I remembered my disappointment when I first heard of it after reading over this. It's so gross that things like this can even be overshadowed because of the disgusting shit Hyunjoong did

Oh no Baby what is you doing??
I have not heard of this, I'm surprised. I just watched his new MV like yesterday

&& Girl, why you let him in drunk?
lizanka23 3rd-Apr-2019 04:06 pm (UTC)
victim blaming much? what's done is done. she can't go back in the past and close the door on his ass. also someone being drunk doesn't make it more likely that they will assault someone

I wasn't meaning it to come off that way, but I am Sorry it did.

Its just confusing. I wonder if other articles explain more because this one is very brief and just gives more questions than it does answers.

ok you still commented about her letting in a guy who's drunk though but assaults don't only happen when a guy is drunk. being drunk loosens up your inhibitions a bit but that means that guy's desire to assault women was always there. that's not even mentioning the power dynamics at play with him being a celebrity. people react in all kinds of ways in that situation from fighting back to becoming completely frozen still. we're also not owed the whole account of what happened anyway since just talking about it can force a victim to relive their trauma and can lead to more people scrutinizing her story and looking for cracks in it. i think it's ok to just keep the complete story for the trial

it's so sad that we have to worry all the time about men's motives. you can never be sure that they will be decent and then people will put the blame on you: you should've known better, why did you go there, why did you wear that, etc. men aren't some uncontrollable animals. self-control and empathy is something we all should be capable of as human beings

people say Not all Men! but if someone gets raped they get blamed for trusting men, basically we are forced to be in a constant state of fear
idlewilds3 3rd-Apr-2019 05:58 pm (UTC)
“people say Not all Men! but if someone gets raped they get blamed for trusting men”...THIS!!! the easy mental gymnastics ppl pull to ALWAYS blame the woman is Olympic Gold Medal level.

And it takes up SO much mental space having to worry about this and that.
lizanka23 4th-Apr-2019 05:11 am (UTC)
yeah exactly. it's like they say that you shouldn't think of men that way and that there are only a few rotten apples but then when a woman is assaulted then they ask why didn't she think of all men as predatory animals or something. sorry, i wanted to have a human interaction with a man?
modestgoddess79 3rd-Apr-2019 04:32 pm (UTC)
throw the whole group away

I wonder if more victims will come forward, don't this was just a one time offense
aeries_amethyst 4th-Apr-2019 03:42 am (UTC)
Firstly, I don't care how long ago this incident happened. As long as he finally gets charged for this assault then that's all that matters. This year is really exposing all the trash men in the industry one after the other. Time to throw out even more trash! \o/

Secondly...World tour for what?! He had an album out or something? o.O

I want yo see how this questioning goes. It'll be hard to prove since it was 9 years ago but i believe he probably did it.

And yikes at his face. I noticed that with some aged idols, all of that plastic surgery in their 20's looks aweful in their 30's.
