Sulli Confirmed To Release First Solo Track

Sulli will be releasing her first solo song in 14 years since making her debut as a child actress in 2005!

On June 10, reports emerged that Sulli was preparing to release a solo song within the month. A source from SM Entertainment responded to the reports and said, “It’s true that Sulli is preparing to release a solo song. As of now, the plan is for the music to be released in late June.”

After making her debut as a child actress in 2005, Sulli made her debut as an idol in 2009 as a member of the girl group f(x). She left the group in August 2015 and has been focusing on her acting career since. However, Sulli is set to delight fans with her singing once more as she prepares for a solo track.

Are you excited to hear what Sulli is preparing?

ngl, this is... weird?

there are still plenty of people who like her singing and acting

Gonna need some receipts on that bc you're actually the first person I've ever encountered who praised for anything other than her looks or pissing K-netz off on IG. Her acting in that one movie was pretty panned from what I remember.

I do feel the same way to an extent about other visuals. But most of them, at least in the popular groups, make up for a lack of performing ability with something else. For instance, being the face/representative member or being good at fanservice and variety content. After all that stuff is just as important as performing is for an idol group. The bare minimum is not sticking out like a sore thumb on stage in comparison to the rest of the members. I don't think Sulli met that for reasons I've already stated.

Look we're talking in circles at this point. You think Sulli has something valuable to offer the entertainment industry and I don't. Idk what else there is to say.

From what I remember Sulli was the face of the group and the member who actually got them famous at the begining
She was the child actress, she was the name. According to your own standard she did make up for her "lack of performing ability with something else".

I think some of your points are fair and liking an idol is up to personal preference anway, but denying the role she played in F(x) fame is kinda weird and simply doesn't match the facts

That's true, I forgot she was a child actress. I guess I can concede that at debut she was the most known one. But if the most valuable thing you contribute to your group besides looks is your fame from your career before you debuted...well that speaks for itself imo.

To be fair I don't think she ever planned to be in an idol group, SM used her to promote f(x)

She never really wanted to be part of a group, didn't like the idol life but recently she mentionned wanting to sing and now this. This is why it's so weird to me
i don't really know what's going on XD

Lol that's why I don't get that user getting pressed over my opinion. Sulli herself said idol life wasn't for her so...it's a good thing she left the group? Both for her and everyone else.

Tbh I don't even really care that she models or does CFs. Yeah models are pretty, we all want to look at beautiful people, whatever. But if it were up to me, she'd have just done that this whole time. It's much more annoying that she got a slot in an idol group that could've gone to another trainee when she didn't really want it.

i'm not pressed lol. the only issue i had with your statement was that sulli allegedly brought nothing to the group when she was the one attending variety shows and getting their name out there? she was one of the more popular members, people liked her for an abundance of reasons.

just say you don't like instead of claiming you care about talent or how much idols contribute to their groups because sulli's done more for the group popularity-wise than amber and luna have.
lil_poisonfrog 10th-Jun-2019 02:22 pm (UTC)
They liked her bc she was pretty, end of story. Tell me, do you think if Sulli was exactly the same person, did all the same things, but looked like Amber or Luna, she would have been anywhere near as popular as she was? Yeah I thought so.

AGAIN, as I said in my earlier comment, I don't care what the public thought of Sulli back then, whether they liked her or not. She contributed nothing to the group that I value in an idol. You're free to keep stanning her pretty face though.

Idk why you’re getting dragged through the mud bc everything you’ve said is true. Plus we all know f(x) didn’t really blow up until their Electric Shock era. The only reason she has managed to survive her Miley Cyrus phase is bc of her visual status.

The sad thing is if she debuted now this wouldn’t be as big of an issue since a lot of companies make solely visual groups nowadays.

Lol, thank you. For I second I thought I was going crazy bc I was into K-pop when f(x) debuted and while yeah, people liked Sulli's visuals, I don't remember her being this break out star of the group like a Suzy or Seolhyun. Krystal was def the most popular member going back to Electric Shock or even earlier.

Yeah tbh, if she'd debuted in RV idt she'd be out of place at all, but that's bc I think RV as a whole are weaker performers than f(x) even if I like their music a lot. Hell, I wonder if Joy debuted bc her visual is reminiscent of Sulli's.
