Wowww, it's so pretty. All the sparkles make it look a bit cheesy, but still, love it.

Please let it be like born again. It’s the only single i’ve liked from her so far. Still glad she gets more freedom to do what she wants outside of SNSD

Born again was goooood. Surprised me how mich I liked it I wouldn't normally care for a song like that.

Yeah idk what it is. Maybe her lyrics have just been too abstract and not specific enough to her experiences or maybe i’m comparing her to pop acts that to me have a more interesting sound and personality. She just doesn’t stand out much to me musically but maybe it’s because she’s trying to find her signature sound still

Also she reminds me of the pop stars in the US of the 90s/early 2000s. She’s expressing herself more freely and honestly nowadays but you can still tell that media training/clean cut image is affecting her

You bring up a good point about lyrics. I was listening to Amy Winehouse again recently and her lyrics are so specific to her and her life, couldn't be written by anyone else. I listened to SNSD, love Tiffany...but their music could have been written by anyone. BTS, who get acclaim for writing their own stuff (not counting the solos) their stuff is clean and safe for the mass market. If Tiff dropped a record as honest and ugly as Amy my heart would explode from joy.

yes exactly! a lot of my faves also usually write very specific lyrics about situations in their lives even if they are small, and this makes the songs even more relate-able then vaguely describing a feeling or situation in broad strokes. i think Tiffany is still being held back by her idol PR training and she still feels pressured to put a filter on herself but she's slowly starting to be more raw in how she communicates. Like recently in her youtube doc she talked about her mother's death and how the flowers in her Lips on Lips video reminded her of flowers on her mother's casket but also positive aspects of her life. You wouldn't get that idea from just watching the video though and would just think it's a generic love song. it would be so interesting if she actually did a song dealing with death or a MV directly addressing themes of death
