I have a ticket to this, I'm hoping is not as bizarre as Burn the Stage.

how bad/weird was burn the stage? i'm considering getting a ticket for this one on wednesday (despite the luuudicrous price) but i kinda wanna know what i'm getting myself in for first

The flow is really weird, like you have intros that talk about the ocean, nature, seasons, etc then abruptly you have slow motion concert footage, then them reflecting on life, another weird intro, then them being dorks. Very bizarre.

I knew of them like weeks before the movie so maybe I didn't get it, I was expecting something like 1Ds This Is Us 🤷🏼‍♀️

I felt the same about the Burn The Stage series.

I feel like they have all of this footage and no organized way of presenting it. They talk about the concert but also about the past and other events happening to them (like the BBMAs). There isn't really a way to link them all together, so, tonally, things are just all over the place.

I feel like this movie will be the same way.

oh i hope not because i'm going now too ;;;;

it sucks that it's not really structured properly and yet is the highest grossing "event cinema musical production" (to quote wikipedia) of all time in the us, toppling 1d's film

I think the fact that it made so much money only adds to my theory that it won't be any better production-wise.

That have no reason to do better. (Although I'll still watch 👀, Documentaries are tricky when they don't lead up to one grand event/conclusion)

that's a fair point honestly, i did say below it's kinda like a piece of media history, it's worth it for that, and we know there's no conclusion--it's not like a story of their life before they disband or anything, and none have left yet

that's one of the things that annoy me about their popularity; quality has plummeted because bighit knows they can make money regardless so why bother trying??? and people will still rave about the quality even though it's observably poorer than what came before (partially because a lot of them weren't there before and never witnessed it; if you only see the newer stuff you have nothing to compare it to)

i dunno, i'm still gonna go and see what it's like....

And then a very mild fight that they solve like actual adults lol, idk what I was expecting but that wasn't it.

thank you for responding! that does kind of sound like a mess :( but i guess these are worth seeing as just a bit of cult history?

i've been convinced to see it just because burn the stage never came here and if people don't go to bring the soul, maybe they won't bring more stuff here and there won't be more kpop stuff coming (there won't be concerts, we're a tiny island, but maybe other films or merch could be shown/sold here) so i've found myself with a ticket. apparently 41 other people are going to see it on wednesday so i think that's pretty impressive! if they all do the fanchants in the cinema though god help me >:(

I'm sure it'll be enjoyable, and yes hopefully the audience will behave lol

Idk what makes them decide where to go or sell merch, I'm in Mexico City, we've had Paul McCartney, Lady Gaga, Beyonce, Madonna... but no BTS. I've accepted the fact that they won't come before Jin enlists 😔
