France's Centre Pompidou Reportedly Offers BTS Museum for Use

On August 18, Herald Biz reported that the Centre Pompidou had offered to make their art museum available for BTS’s use.

The Centre Pompidou is a building complex in Paris, France with a deep architectural and artistic significance. Around five million people visit the complex every year, and like France’s other esteemed art museums including the Louvre Museum and Musée d’Orsay, it is seldom made available to a specific group for filming purposes.

Based on Herald Biz’s report, the Centre Pompidou offered to open a part of its complex to BTS in June, which is around the time they held their “Love Yourself: Speak Yourself” concert at the Stade de France. At the time, RM had posted a photo of himself in front of the complex, though it unknown whether his visit to the Centre had any relation to the offer they had received.

While the offer was made ahead of their concert in Paris, the Centre Pompidou was reportedly also willing to open several areas including its rooftop in the future for BTS to film photos and videos for purposes like music video filming and social media uploading. The offer has not yet been revealed publicly because the deal is still being discussed between the Centre Pompidou and Big Hit Entertainment.

This both amazes me and makes me laugh like crazy because it's such a weird collab possibility.

Lol, I guess, Not a fan of the place myself

There's literally no french source on this though, but why not, get that money

Smart attempt at publicity I have to say.

If BTS ever do an mv here, I want it to be at Giverny tho. That luxuary Monet garden of water would be absolutely ethereal with them in it and therefore perfect ♥

omg I'd kill for them to film a MV at Giverny .. visually it'd be absolutely stunning!
benihime99 18th-Aug-2019 03:33 pm (UTC)
I don't want crazy fangirls then rush to Giverny and ruin it ust because BTS once had a shooting there
Do you see what crazy tourists do to lavender's field? Instagram crowds to that beautiful poppy field ... no no no
dallinferno 18th-Aug-2019 03:34 pm (UTC)
okay, good point, actually ... I hang out in like .. normal fan-circles so I often forget other people aren't as respectful or considerate, lol

mass toutism is a plague
Have you seen what we 'I say we cause humans are a shitty specy) did to Majorca?
Shame on us
dallinferno 18th-Aug-2019 03:48 pm (UTC)
Yeahhh I did ... I know all of it too well, honestly. I'm working in tourism myself and it's like the minute someone becomes a tourist, they turn into another non-human being ...

This whole "it's not my home so I can fuck it up" mentality
I gets me so mad, liek that story about that fitness girl washing her ass with holy water, wtf man?

I'm occasionally a tourist, I visit place, but I try (successfully I hope) to be as respectful as I can
dallinferno 18th-Aug-2019 04:15 pm (UTC)
Oh god that pissed me off SO MUCH. how hard is it being respectful towards other cultures? apparently too hard.

I think that if you're consciously trying and thinking about how to be a good tourist, you're already doing well, haha. Just going by my experience.

i was in ireland last week and watched a tourist decide he was done with his coffee and just toss the cup into the street in front of a car. it still had liquid in it. he was about 2 metres from a bin. i don't get people, but i definitely don't get tourists.

so this is rumoured to be for shooting something and not an exhibit? either way, it sounds cool. guess we'll see

I mean, it's not a bad strategy if they want people to go there.

Between 3 to 4 million people go the CNAC every year, it's the 2nd or 3 rd most visited museum in France
They could do it for money and visibility but they're not really in need of traffic
pwrpuffgrl 20th-Aug-2019 12:31 am (UTC)
Do they need money and visibility being the 2nd most visited museum?
benihime99 20th-Aug-2019 02:47 am (UTC)
It's not so much a question of need as it is one of opportunity

The louvre didn't need beyonce, but why say no to beyonce?
If pompidou can have bts, they'll take bts (it kinda fits their modern art and innovative rep., seeing how popular bts is rn)

Also, they're partially financed by state money so private money is always good

But the CNAC has the first collection of modern art in europe, second in the world after the MoMA, they have the traffic
